Are you the Barnsley chairman?- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Message for Terry : from personal experience, if you have any reservations about taking a job, then it's obviously not the right job for you.- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Not much meat on a whippet though.- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Didn't they anounce that before even meeting Butcher? Not from the chain of events/information I have been following. Was definitely at some point yesterday that Rowing told the press Flitcroft would be in charge for Saturday.- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
That's what I was thinking too. Come back and explain to the backroom team what their terms would be and if they are happy to go, he'll go. The only alternative I can think of for him not accepting/declining this morning was to come back and speak to our board about what improved terms would make him stay at ICT. (ie match Barnsley's £250,000 salary, £6m player wage budget and £2m transfer kitty!).- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***

There's a whole world of managers out there, beyond our former ones and our ex-players.- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
On Barnsley's private jet.- Jan Transfers
Richard Brittain signs PCA with St Johnstone. Didn't see that one coming. Good player IMO. I'd imagine Saints will now make a derisory offer to take him of County's hands this month.- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Why would they fly to Scotland by private jet when Terry was spending the winter break in Ipswich? Other papers (including P&J) nsay Terry travelled from Suffolk to Yorkshire to met them.- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
In that case it demonstrates how mellow I have become - as I got barred from both those threads in the end !! Go on, you know you want the hatrick!- Merger Talk
Its been said many a time over the years that they are better at certain things "off the pitch" - but which team has finished above the other 16 out of 18 seasons? And about to be 17 out of 19. That's not rivalry, it's a massacre.- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
[anorak on] Just an observation that this topic is onto 15 pages so far, and when the talks resume tomorrow I'm pretty sure it will soon overtake the record of 20 pages for a football thread on this site. That was for the saga of Niculae's departure back in 2008. 2nd place with 18 pages is one in January 2009 about who would be shortlisted to replace Brewster. [anorak off]- Merger Talk
But you've got to look at catchment area rather than the population of the place the stadium is located. Population within 20 miles of us and them can't be massively different.- Caley Thistle Caricatures

The source is the Radio Sheffield sports editor (Paul Walker) on Twitter. Very reliable.- Danny Devine
Looks like Devine has signed today, and the likely change in manager clearly didn't put him off. http://www.highland-news.co.uk/News/Malpas-confirms-Devine-signing-at-ICT-08012013.htm- Merger Talk

So some people bought season tickets as gifts for their friends? Not a crime, and a pretty smart move I suppose, but I can see why some wouldn't like it. Why didn't the rebels think of it? In those days how did the cost of a season ticket compare to hiring a double decker bus?- Merger Talk
See my post #224, I'm pretty sure the revenue was publicly reconciled to the STs in issue, but perhaps someone can confirm or refute my recollection.- Merger Talk
Why would there be a "hole" in the clubs accounts when they were handed out free? that makes no sense Simply, if there were (say) 500 season tickets and they are £20 each then the club accounts should have shown ST income £10,000. If they were given away there would have been a lot less than £10,000. I may be wrong, but I recall that the rebels challenged Caley on allegedly giving away STs but the money was all accounted for and reconciled, ie no freebies.- Merger Talk
Errr, people on both sides wanted to have a say in the merger votes? If your allegation of freebies is true there would not have been a black hole in the club's accounts?- Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Don't joke, I do actually wonder if Adams could be on our shortlist. - Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
