  1. You can just go ahead and set up a "supporters club" without anyone else's input or permission, but I think you'd both have to consider what the purpose of your clubs would be, and what you'd want/expect from other people or organisations. CaleyJagsTogether is the main supporters' body. Depending on what you want to achieve, you might be better just joining them, and/or posting on this site find out if there are ICT fans in your area.
  2. And then there's Iwelumo for Scotland. I can't bear to go and find the clip.

I don't get some of the reaction here. The SFA have been consistent from start to finish, there's no evidence at all that they have been inaccurate or dishonest anywhere, and ICT have accepted the explanation they were given, which I'd imagine would have been fuller than the few words tweeted publicly by the SFA.

QPR have also loaned a slightly more experienced midfielder to St Johnstone.

Bear in mind though that the SFA don't have access to the disciplinary records of other countries. They would have to ask the FA and wait for a response, assuming the FA are obliged to respond to such a request at all.

Strangely, the article I linked to on the official ICT site isn't there any more. I swear I didn't dream it.

But it's not unknown for a footballer to play for both sides!

The penalty is sailing high and wide, guys.........

Jordan Gibbons has arrived on loan from QPR. Described in the press release as a "wide midfielder". Hopefully that refers to his position and not a weight problem. http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/787-new-arrival-at-ictfc

I think it is pretty likely that with so much media scrutiny now on them, the SFA would only put out this statement after they had checked the relevant facts and rules. And I'm also pretty sure that behind the scenes, ICT have asked for some more specific details and evidence than has been released publicly.

Artcile about SFA officially confirming he was eligible. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/hearts/211820-sfa-confirm-danny-wilson-served-suspension-in-liverpool-league-match/

IF they have announced that after having properly checked all the relevant rules and the facts relating to that particular suspension, then I guess that's the end of that. But nothing would surprise me.

The ICTFC statement makes it sound formal enough at this information gathering stage. "We have spoken to the SFA Disciplinary Committee............As a result of discussions that have taken place throughout the afternoon, the club will be seeking further details and an explanation on events surrounding this matter."

Hearts could remove any uncertainty once and for all by just getting Danny Wilson to say when he served that suspension. If for some reason he can't remember, his employer, Liverpool, would very quickly be able to tell him from their own records. Simple.

It's quite amusing that Hibs fans seem more worked up over this than we are!

I'm still unclear as to whether his supension was even supposed to be served during his time in England.

Apparently Ngoo should have been ineligible too, on the grounds that he's just too flipping tall.

Can someone contact Jim Spence and get him to ask the right questions of the SFA?!

I think the fact that the FA said there were no unserved suspension is pretty much "end of" because the SFA have no official information or jurisdiction to go delving into a player's history when he's abroad. But anyway, I might have got this wrong but is it not the case that : Suspensions cross borders with the player Each suspension is tournament specific (eg 1 SPL match, or in this case 1 Scottish League Cup match). As each country has its own tournaments, the FA receiving the player just applies the suspension to the first available game in any tournament. If Wilson served the suspension with Liverpool, that's the end of it. If he didn't, then Liverpool, not Hearts, were guilty of fielding an ineligible player, and that would be a matter between them and the FA.

So is it the case that if the documents from the English FA say there is no suspension, then that is accepted by the SFA, even if they know it to be wrong? If so it begs the question, what if it was ever the other way round, in that documents from the FA to the SFA incorrectly said a player does have a suspension. You'd imagine that they'd be back in touch with the FA to get it corrected.

In the unlikely event that we were to get any sort of second chance out of this, I wouldn't feel at all guilty about us benefiting from an admin oversight on this particular occasion because Hearts, on the point of going bust and unable to pay wages, suddenly bring in millions of pounds worth of talent from Liverpool days before this big game. And as it turned out, Wilson and Ngoo were probably their best players. I know Hearts haven't broken any rules in bringing them in, in the same way that Starbucks, Amazon etc haven't broken any rules by not paying any UK tax. It just doesn't feel right.

Mackay's worth is perhaps now driven by the YouTube royalties on that miss.

I don't see anything coming of this, but it is certainly worth a quiet question to the relevant authorities. And if by some chance there is to be a midweek rematch, I'd suggest McDiarmid Park as the best venue. Although Dingwall would even out the geographical imbalance of selecting Edinburgh as the original venue.
  24. St Mirren are now the only team who can do the treble.
