  2. Granted at the time when Brill made the said bloopers, we were in a transition period to change to the passing style of play set out by Yogi and you obviously can't get it perfect first time round. I personally thought that Brill has been more comfortable with the passes back to him than he was this time last year. Esson is a good keeper without a doubt but I just think individually Brill brings more to the team.
  3. I know this video is from last season but individually Dean Brill is the better keeper of the two IMO.
  4. Brill needs to start playing games to get him back up to speed. Harsh on Esson to drop out but I'd rather Brill being fully fit and ready for the Semi final.
  5. It could have been worse, the Ross County development team got hammered 9-2 by Dundee United today.
  6. While that was miles better than the Partick game (no three centre backs again please) the crowd was pretty subdued. After having time to reflect over the tactics at Partick, I don't think the issue was the three centre backs, it was more the fact that the tactic wasn't executed well. I felt that game we were solid defensively but our attacking fell short because we played Shinnie and Raven as 'wingbacks' and with Danny Williams and Ryan Christie often moving out to the wings making a clash IMO. For the tactic to work it should have seen a replication of Louis Van Gaal's 5-2-1-2 and I think we could do well with it when executed well. Josh Meekings sending a long ball up to Watkins who knocks it onto Ofere, could give the team another dimension. In terms of the tactics used last Saturday. We went back to basics which at home especially is needed but where I think we failed was how quickly we moved the ball, granted the pitch may not have helped but we certainly picked up the pace after Dundee scored.
  7. The game has been shifted to the TCS.
  8. My team would be: Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Draper Watkins Tansey Ross Williams Ofere
  9. HT: 1-0 FT: 3-2 1st ICT: Warren 1st Aberdeen: Goodwillie First Goal: 25 mins
  10. I think we've faced sides at home this season that have been worse than Dundee. Dundee are a side that play very similarly to us and it was evident today. Whilst today wasn't the greatest of showing, it certainly wasn't that bad either.
  11. Before Kink arrived to us, his last game was back in June 2014 with Estonia. Of course from that fact his match fitness will not be as sharp as others in the team who have been playing very regularly. Although, I was quite surprised that Danny Williams didn't play today.
  12. The disappointing fact for me today was after we scored our goal, we let the intensity drop. That reply from Dundee's goal is something we need to replicate on a longer basis in the game. Gutted to not get a win considering Dundee United lost today but a point is better than nothing I thought Graeme Shinnie was really good today.
  13. I've just come across some devastating news about the game tomorrow - Willie Collum is referee.
  14. HT: 1-0 FT: 4-2 1st ICT: Watkins 1st Dundee: Stewart First Goal: 26 mins
  15. What's wrong with an Eastern European side.
  16. I am feeling optimistic about this one because I think we are due to give a team an absolute doing. With that being said I really hope we go back to basics and not play three centre backs. My team would be: Esson Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Draper Tansey Watkins Christie Williams Ofere
  17. Apparently Dundee United won 2-0
  18. I meant to say 'interest' instead of bid.
  19. I can actually see why the game is being played on Sunday - Celtic have a game during the week against Killie and we have a free midweek to prepare.
  20. You obviously didn't make the Partick game then... he was gash. The tactics used at Partick didn't help Marley which made him so isolated up front. I thought he done alright off the ball and getting past their defenders, he just never had any support.
  21. According to the Daily Express, Hearts are stepping up their bid to offer Marley Watkins a contract for next season. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/566189/Hearts-Transfer-Inverness-Marley-Watkins
  22. Good to see Dean Brill was back playing today. Tarmo Kink was also in the team.
  23. Christie had a couple of chances in the first half. One of which he didn't connect with cleanly, otherwise I think he would have scored. We got into good positions a few times too, but wanted too much time to get the shot away and were closed down quickly. FWIW, I agree that we did get into some great positions today, but I just couldn't for the life of me recall after the game any great chances on goal today - maybe I was focusing too much on the second half performance. I though that Shinnie and Raven played really well in the 'wingback' roles today and I would like to see it return but I'm just not a fan of three centre backs if I'm honest, defensively today we were solid enough granted but I think it affected how we played up front and I'd have rather had an extra man up front than in defence considering our usual back four anyway.
  24. Felt Watkins was really isolated today, you'd be forgiven if you thought Mckay was playing up front for us today. Personally didn't understand why we played three centre backs when Watkins was crying out for someone of Ofere's hight to support him. I thought tactics set out today worked against us and hopefully return to a normal one, if we played like we did today against Celtic, they would have had a field day. Did we really have any notable chances on goal today?
  25. I think we are in for a tricky game today, last weekend Partick hammered St Johnstone so will be interesting.
