From what I have heard Malonga is pretty brutal with the odd flashes of brilliance. Not worth it however I understand his contract is up in the summer?

I think we all know Stokes will end up at Hibs so that he can play against Rangers.

If I remember correctly he was saying the complete opposite (a few months ago?) in the courier that he wants to compete with Fon Williams for the No1 spot.

Don't get me wrong, Williams is a fantastic player with a great engine about him. I would keep him and he will probably be retained however I personally prefer Aaron Doran purely on the basis that he can bring a spark out of nothing and would prefer to have him over Williams. Like I said, we need a bit of freshness in the squad not just in defence but wingers and two pacey wingers would go down a treat.

I personally want to see a fresher look to the back four with new and younger full backs. That's not to say that I wouldn't be sad if we kept Raven on etc. In terms of Williams, I prefer Doran over Williams however I want to see new wingers similar to Marley Watkins/Jonny Hayes.

Out of the list of out of contract player for next season, I would only keep Dean Brill, Aaron Doran, Ross Draper, OFW, Liam Polworth, Miles Storey, Ali Sutherland, James Vincent and all of the development squad (Alex Fisher? Haven't seen him play yet, so can't make comment) Build a squad around these players plus the ones signed up for the following season and make additional quality signings like a centre back, left back, right back and 2 wingers and we should have a decent team.

Agree with Renegade on this issue. Unfortunately Dani Lopez just couldn't cut it at Caley Thistle. He could very well be technically gifted but he couldn't produce that on a consistent basis. Yes, credit him on the goal at Parkhead however they were cruising and took the foot of the gas, but still a good goal I admit. What soured my opinion on Lopez was the spitting incident in a U20s match, I genuinely can't believe a 31 year old would gob a Teenager - digusting behaviour. I won't lose any sleep over his departure, especially with Alex Fisher being brought in.

I'm sorry but I seriously doubt the players really give a feck if a Celtic player joins our team on loan.

According to today's papers, Stokes prefers a loan move to Hibs over us and Dundee United.

Instead of Stokes, we should look at getting Gary Mackay-Stevens on loan.

One final thought regarding the Stokes loan. I wouldn't put it past Celtic to put him in the team on Sunday against Stranraer making him ineligible for us should we progress to the next round of the Scottish Cup.

Wishful thinking but I hope they can add Scott Allan into the mix aswell to replace Ryan Christie.

Yogi has confirmed that we have approached Celtic regarding a loan for Stokes. I must admit a partnership of both Stokes and Storey would be a interesting pair and probably would compliment each other. Like I said in my earlier post, I'm struggling to see how we could financially take Stokes on loan unless Celtic still owe us money from the Ryan Christie deal.

What's happened with the Swede lad, is he still with us or left?

Can't see Stokes coming to us unless Celtic are paying all his wages. We would be stupid to pay a massive amount on Stokes for 4 months. I think we'd be better looking elsewhere IMO.

Must admit, I'm not keen on the calls to bring back Ofere. He was a great striker for us undoubtedly however I'm not sure he'd fit in with Storey etc. I think the players we need to properly replace is Marley Watkins and Graeme Shinnie as we failed to do so in the last transfer window

Probably the best signing that we can make this transfer window IMO. Delighted that Miles is staying with us for another 4/5 months. Now we just need to get rid of the deadwood in the team and replace them with better quality players like Miles and we should then definitely secure 'Top 6' football this season.

Really good performance from the lads today. I thought from start to finish we were the better team with County producing next to nothing. In the car on the way home, Barry Wilson was saying that 2-0 flattered us at half time - totally disagree with that. The only criticism I have to make today that too many passes were getting led astray. Some of the players needed to up their awareness of what's around them but thankfully didn't create too much issue. 3 well deserved points and hopefully now the start of a massive jump up the league table.
