  1. Thanks for the report CD. All very depressing.

I can understand protection being afforded to the race of ethnic Roma people, but not to people who have just made a lifestyle choice.

I agree. I think to say you cannot even say caravan dweller as it implies gypsies and is therefore racist is unbelievable. Has anyone told Jeremy Clarkson this?

The law is an ass as ever, but there doesn't seem much we can do about it.

  2. Does not everybody support the club? I would have thought that in a time where the attendance is dropping that you would welcome any new fans, silly me!

I support the manager and the team on the field. I don't support every decision made by those in charge.

  3. But all joking aside this is a bit OTT. To be honest it's neither up nor down if you want to call as gypos or whatever, it's part of the banter of football and I'm sure 99.9999999% of County fans can take it just the same way as I'm sure 99.9999999% of Caley fans can take it when we respond with "I'll rather be a gypo than a tink". Should be intresting come Sunday if both songs get an sing song, could end up with more fans outside than inside the ground.

    Roll on Sunday :002:

  4. There wouldn't be a proble, if there was some common sense showed by the club and stewards.

Exactly. I once stood for a whole game at Kilmarnock and on the other hand have been told by a Dundee United steward twice during a game that I wasn't sitting on my seat in the correct fashion. The whole standing issue is a joke. You can stand before, stand at half time, stand when prompted by the club to celebrate/commerate something, but if you should jump up to celebrate a goal then the safety of the whole stadium is compromised. What bollocks. Go to Germany, where you can stand for a whole game with a pint in one hand and a fag in the other, without civilisation seemingly crumbling.

From the "abuse" point of view the club supporting newbies need to get out more.

  5. Nobody has once said that any County fan has taken objection to being called a Gypsy...which is what makes this all the more absurd.

    Ah, misunderstood centralbelters earlier comment:

The club are in a difficult situation on this one as, they have received official compaints following the last county game for some of the chants. This means the club are being investigated and could be facing a large fine.

    Even more bizarre then.

  6. None of this actually makes any sense. The C*unty fans object to being called Gypsies. But it's highly unlikely that they are Gypsies. So what are they offended at? Isn't it being racist of *them* to object to the name? If someone called me Chinese, I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

  7. Travelling people do now have an official 'race' So direct abuse could be seen as racist

Guess we just need to stick to "dirty thieving barstewards" then.

Although this obviously stigmatises people who cannot afford a washing machine.

    So we're stuck with

"Who put the O and the Y in C*unty?

Those charming and sensitive fellows from over the bridge."

  8. According to wiki

Under the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960 Gypsies are defined as "persons of nomadic habit of life, whatever their race or origin, but does not include members of an organised group of travelling showmen, or persons engaged in travelling circuses, travelling together as such."

From that, I cannot see how it can be racist to call the wandering folk of Dingwall the G word.

Although you could argue that C*unty are a travelling circus.

  9. Ok so we have a few injuries but come on we must have enough in reserve to avoid been 3-0 down at h/t to Partick if not we can totally forget any illusions we had of bouncing right back up

Perhaps the deluded people who were crowing about going straight back up to the SPL have now been given a reality check. Better sides than ICT have tried and failed. It's going to be a long, long stay in the first division (if not worse). I hope I'm wrong.

Personally I had no illusions about bouncing straight back up. But conceding 3 goals in 7 minutes is completely unacceptable in any league.

  10. I have'nt commented for a while on how the team been doing. But I think Butcher has lost the plot. Why did Ross Tokely not play last night? The report says he had a strain and Eagle's was dropped. Eagle's was injured in training and there was word that Ross had a few words. Why after last weeks match when Butcher says in the papers he was not happy with the performance and could have made 8 subs etc what does he do he plays Djebi-Zadi up front.

When did Lionel play up front?
