  1. id go for ian mccall myself, paul lambert would be a mistake, he was a sh1te to everybody at livi
  2. was also the same manager and players who bottled the chase for the top 6 big time last year, we went from 6th to 8th within 3 weekends of the split if you want to go just a little further back. youll need to explain the OF brain part of that post. as far as im aware supporters of every team in scotland want the best for their club, even if we all know they cant win every week we all expect the side to at least look like they want to
  3. """ 'jesus even im getting bored of all this' that's because the more you type it the more ridiculous it must sound... """ from the person who one sentace earlier said the longer cc stays in charge the better players he'll attract """ "what if our season ticket sales for next season suffer because of it?' we'll get them back if the team starts buiding momentum, it's swings and roundabouts, likewise what if we start pushing further up the table are you going to take back everything you have said about Christie? I doubt it!!! """ dont presume anything, if we do end the season well and not play so utterly rank next year then nobody will be happier than me. i probably wouldnt take back anything ive said about christie as it will all have been true at the time of saying it, "cc remains a big gamble as scottish football is changing, the trap door below us leads to oblivion" ..even if things do improve next season then that statement will still be true at the time of posting. what id like to be saying is 'we're a joy to watch, he signed 6 class players, the team look fit and hungry every week, don cowie is god, charlie has grown up, i had to queue for hours to get tickets for this..' cant think of anything else. if charlie carries on sending teams out to play like he has the past two weekends will you ever change your mind about how much he deserves the job
  4. how many big name managers did charlie learn from? did he win any trophies? how many european games or cup finals did cc score winners or even play in? its all experience players gain from playing in the top league that our manager managed to avoid while a playing player. experience robbo or brew brought to us by being important parts of premier league clubs extends to how things are done off the park aswell, like transfer negotiations, handling the media and training; things alot of our squad had never dealt with. the fact neither have flourished in their carears since leaving ict is more a matter of coincidence than their own failings, both have made poor choices ""A number of people have spouted of about how CC cant get the best from the players. Do they know for a fact that that is the case or is it just supposition. Has anyone stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, its the players who dont want to perform for reasons that the manager has no control over. No, probably not. That would be too sensible and, personally, I have to question the sense of some posters on here."" thats one of the stupidest things ive read from the protection society this season. are you honestly saying that its sensible to presume the gash players atm are gash because they just dont want to do better, rather than poor direction from the dugout :017: aye. :015: question my sense all you like if thats your own view. personally i think the manager has a greater influence (or should) over the squad than you think
  5. - this season our average attendance is the lowest in the SPL true but our prices arent the lowest, the average attendance also isnt that much lower than other clubs, the disadvantage we have there in terms of revenue is offset by the debt every other club is constantly paying out on. -we have spent the least amount of money out of any team in the SPL possibly on the wage bill, but until i see the figures infront of me in black and white i cant believe its a huge difference if any at all, all this 'lowest wages' stuff is purely rumours. i know at least munro, brown before he left and wilson are all on healthy amounts of money at the moment for sure, easily more than most of the dunfermline, motherwell, falkirk, midden squads. only time we've come into competition for a player was with st mirren over rankin.. we got him. -we have the most inexperienced manager in the SPL through choice -we, as a club, are almost 100 years younger than every other SPL team not sure why that matters -we have had 2 of our first team strikers injured for more than half a season collectively again choice, could have brought in cover but went for macswegan and stuck by rory, not a ridiculous gamble but it hasnt worked out i never said we should go for broke, theres nothing in our reach thats worth spending anything for, danger is if we dont spend a little then we'll fall down a league to a structure that might not even exist next season if spl 2 doesnt hurry up and find a sponsor. im not purely anti charlie christie, he's just one of the influences at the club just now thats holding us in a postion where we're constantly going to be in danger. on the football side there seems to be a lack of any real youth system or scouting network and the manager cant motivate, train or communicate with the players. off the park i moan about the board having a poor attitude to marketing and certain employees treatment of fans.. i even moan about the supporters trust not doing enough.. what will you say if we do end up finishing close to or below st mirren this season by the time it all wraps up? what if our season ticket sales for next season suffer because of it? will you still be calling for another year for cc? ultimatley its what we do on the park that secures the future of ict as a spl entity, its always important to end the season on a high and for us to have a positive pre-season, so we can make money selling tickets. cant see us having either this time round unless a new, louder, cockier manager takes over jesus even im getting bored of all this
  6. any talk about how poor our crowds or budgets are (in real terms we are in a much healthier state financially than most of the spl, when you compare what we owe, who is in charge and profits, things arent bad on that front at all!) will only hold us back from reaching our full potential as a club. im well aware of where we stand in scottish football but unless we're constantly pushing for more then we are only going to go backwards, trying to manage everything on and off the park to finish at least 11th every year will lead to us doing exactly that. accepting a side that barely scrapes by and being happy to watch a team lose/play-sheet almost every week will never attract decent players or support and stay small an sheet. just because we are smaller than other sides now(have to stress that we arent much smaller!!) it doesnt mean we always will be and should have more confidence in ourselves, which means being able to look at a side thats lost recently to motherwell, dunfermline, killie etc and being able to say its simply not good enough fans saying they wouldnt mind us getting relegated just to see who stops turning out to watch is a massive kick in the balls to pele, robbo, his title winning squad and all the people behind the scenes at ict/tullochs who worked their nads off to get us to where we are today.
  7. theyve backed him, they gave him 65,000 for rankin and a january transfer budget which he used to secure cowie and markus. i pressume a chunk of the brown money will be added to his original budget for the summer aswell, theres no doubt at all that cc or whoever it is will have the cash to put together a side that can secure spl future for at least another 2 years so the question, should he be given a year to work on the side... from what i have seen, i think its too big a risk to trust important rebuilding work (plus a decent budget) to any inexperienced manager, especially one who has their head stuck so far up their own arse for no good reason and struggles to get the best from the players he already has. this summer would be an excellent time to start from scratch, we may never get another if he spends our money on crap (of course any manager can do this!) or buys quality and cant get the best from them (not all managers can get this right, cc has proved this quite alot) in training or on matchday
  8. wonder if itll ever happen for us
  9. this 'success' merely shows the number of kids who cant afford to go most weeks
  10. remember them well.. will watch that in a bit
  11. 17 points from our last 20 games, yet many on here believe that over this period we've been playing well and ended up plain unlucky.. including cc himself. if we get relegated (easily on that form next term, especially with the squad changes) then itll take us another 10 years to come back into the spl, who here is prepared for that? will cc ever be aportioned with any of the blame from the likes harry chibber, man4thejob, alex macleod etc should it? as has been said by the man himself, scottish football is changing (when is it not) and if we dont have the right people in charge to keep us safe then we'll be the ones suffereing for it. the lower leagues are a total mess; no sponsor, tv money, no agreement on the format of the leagues even and we are alot closer than anybody on here realises to being part of it ....mod just to add - ..and that is the real price of cc failing as a manager, not a poor 11th place finish, losing a couple players/signing a couple bad ones, getting knocked out of the cup early maybe... hiring an inexperienced manager and trusting him with squad rebuilding and a healthy budget is too huge a gamble for me
  12. hibs have always had a good support kencar, im sure if their ground could hold 30,000 there next game would sell out ...after that probably not though
  13. i thought international cricketers went out and got mortaled all the time
  14. id install the old brester mentality/regime in training and the old robbo one in the dugout/changing room. then id set the team up so our best players were playing in their best positions. would be a start
  15. "We do not have a god given right to be winning any games in Scotlands top league, and when supporters start demanding it, perhaps they should go and support someone else." thats one thing thats starting to annoy me about those defending charlie, anytime theres rightful critisism of the team (unless getting beat 3-1 at home to dunfermline is acceptable), we're accused of being stupid enough to expect to win every spl game. sure im speaking for alot here when i say its the downward plumit in the average performance we're turning in from week to week thats worrying, not so much that we lose every week, more that we now look like we should be losing every week and with the changes in the squad for next season that looks set to continue. signing lots of young players from the lower leagues is actually policy id be willing to back with the current state of scottish football, if we had the right guy in charge to get the best out of them. havent seen that from cc yet with black, rory, sutherland or fraser so far.
  16. think the final itself was excellent for scottish football, both teams selling out their allocations in the absense of the old firm and both teams playing several promising scottish players shows theres life in the old dog yet
  17. the problem is if we get involced in a relegation battle next term, we dont have the man in charge to pull us out of it, the few vital games we've had this year have all ended in failure. its all been said above, we need charlie christie OUT. donald park and possibly bennet aswell. we need big change of management as the players we have are more than capable we have the potential to be a bigger club than dunfermline, motherwell, falkirk and st mirren. if we go down in the next 2 years we'll never realise it. even im starting to lose faith in the club, never thought id ever feel like this, the closer we get to going down due to christies inability to motivate, train or organise players the worse it gets. i seriously fear for our future, not because we might get relegated, but because those in charge bottled it when they hired christie. when he does eventually get sacked they need to show a bit more guts and not give a toss about keeping the highland league throw backs in the inverness footballing community happy. why should i support something i dont want anything at all to do with? itll never happen to me but i can see why bingham legend jumped ship, he didnt want anything to do with ict after going down the christie route, up until then the club had always shown the right attiude and demonstrated a real sense of purpose about where it was going. he saw the appointment of cc as a change in thinking which alienated and disapointed him, his enthusiasm as a fan dropped, he gave up. i had serious problems from the start with his appointment, they remain!
  18. seems those innocent rangers fans have gone and posted videos of themselves acting like themselves online. could be kicked out of european competition... which means aberdeen might represent scotland in the qualifying for the champions league :017:
  19. aye well done to them, was in a pub full of hibees this afternoon and they were nervous as feck even at 4-1 :015: should be a good night
  20. davedargo has proved it every year since we got promoted that the fixtures arent randomly strung together by spl administrators at the start of each season. he could probably tell you our first game for next year today
  21. we lost something by letting him go, difficult to put my finger on what exactly, he was willing to chase every ball and scrap with anyone for us, he was still a big fans favorite despite not playing for so long. a strong defensive midfielder who gave us something coming forward in a way roy or russel never do, fully fit he wouldve been involved in the first team every week ive no doubt at all im sure we've all heard the rumours about him being asked to leave for more than purely footballing reasons, if true then i suppose he had to go, which is a shame.
  22. well we've lost keogh and golly, if you really wanted to rip the heart and soul out of us then get rid of black too, though we'd be losing our strongest driving force in the middle of the park itll be a while before we see another player with his potential and temper on a long term deal with ict, every effort should be made to change his reputation and not his playing style, he needs a clean slate next year
  23. ok ill rephrase that if your local team (or whoever; family team, where you originally come from etc) is showing ambition and providing a decent quality of bigot-free entertainment then you should suppport them, that would include greenock morton who have for years looked to improve themselves. if your local team is forfar and bottom of the second division, with no sign of ever doing better than mid table in division 2 then how could you complain about locals wanting to follow something more. doesnt have to be the old firm, could be whoever, man united or real madrid. i should stop nobody will ever agree wtih me
  24. dont think ill catch it either dont think ill be missing much
  25. im not completley against people from places like forfar supporting the old firm, aberdeen, dundee clubs, whoever, why the **** shouldnt they when you look at their local side its the of supporters in spl and first division towns ive more of a problem with
