Must admit i've never thought that much of Gordon. Perhaps his injury problems has cast a shasdow on him since joining Sunderland. Always a worry when Steve Bruce comes out and says in the summer he's looking for a new keeper. Perhaps as back up i know but still... He seems a long way off the player that was once touted as going to Arsenal, and theyre now being linked with a 36 year old!

As an englishman relatively new in the area i can agree that coverage of Scottish football in England goes as far as Celtic and Rangers.m Listen to 5 Live or talksport and the only results or fixtures they read out on bulletins are those of the Old Firm. Therefore, coverage of 1st, 2nd and 3rd division football is non existent! I have no idea who won the 2nd or 3rd division in scotland last season. I still couldnt name all the clubs in the 1st division. So although these sportsmen "should" know the 1st Division Scottish Champs, it doesnt surprise me that they dont. And think about the fact it was even a question at all on the show. If it was obvious they would never have used it. Hopefully though, if performances continue in the vain of Sundays, everyone will know who Terry Butcher is the manager of down south!

Serious question from a newbie... What is the North of Scotland Cup? Is it a reserves thing? If so, do fans seriously travel as far as Wick to watch the games?

Perhaps the quality of our goals was causing their system to crash. :biggrin: For those who like to criticise and concoct conspiracy theories where there are none ... let me play Devil's advocate and support the BBC on this one .... Here are a few facts to consider ..... 1. They have 4 matches played on the same day and have to edit 90+ minutes of footage from them all. I do agree there may be an element of "lets get the OF games edited first" but at the end of the day one game will be first and others will follow, they are unlikely to have multiple squads of people editing down the footage for the web. 2. I know from experience that editing footage is not quick. The final clip may only be 5 or 6 minutes long but it takes a lot longer than that to edit, re-edit, get the voiceovers correct and then compile/convert it all into a usable format for the web where you have to get the balance right between filesize and bitrate. It is not easy. 3. Some 'normal' games may be easier to edit in terms of what footage to show ... but in a game like yesterday's it will be harder to edit because there is likely a lot more they would like to show than they can fit into the allowed clip duration !!! The BBC cant just show as much as they like. Their media agreement only allows a certain number of minutes from each game so deciding what makes it and what doesnt in a game like yesterday's is hard and time consuming. 4. Regardless of the order they are edited in, there are "holdback" rules in place that mean they cannot be put online until something like 10pm Sunday for the Saturday games (might have changed - that rule was tied to TV broadcast times) and midnight Sunday for the Sunday games. As each game goes online I am sure they will test them to make sure the links work and the video is of decent quality (I know we test this before the pages go live on the official site !!) ... testing this may mean the whole process of getting highlights of 4-6 games online may take an hour or more ....... you just need to have a little patience !!!!! Lol! Are you on the BBC payroll? Seriously though, there may be a number of reasons for the times in which the clips go online - fact is that the highlights are there now and very strongly in favour of ICT!!

just watched the highlights and Inverness looked fantastic! I hear the big bald guy at the back for Dundee is a Scotland International? Really? He was made to look awful, really really awful! Well done Caley Thistle, here's hoping you can carry this form through the season!

As an outsider looking in to the SPL i think expanding the amount of teams would be to the detrement of the smaller clubs. Surely most of Hamilton/St Johnstones/Caleys big payday gate receipts are from hosting the old firm and the edinburgh/dundee sides? Currently theres the possibility of 2 home games a season with these bigger clubs. Throw in Dunfermline, Partick or Raith and the attendences would be nowhere near that for the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Dundee Utd would it? Money aside, would it really improve the level of football? Currently as i said above, the smaller clubs players come up against the old firm players (sweeping generalisation i know) who are mainly filled with internationals. Playing against a higher level of player can only improve your game as a player. Bring down the overall level of the players in the league would surely reduce the quality, no? As an aside, the pyramid system in general needs a huge shake up in scotland. how can a team finish bottom of the 3rd division year after year after year without being relegated? it works in england with the non-league sides combining for the blue square premier allowing promotion to the football leagues. i know there is the highland league up here and other amatuer leagues in scotland that are all seperate but surely this could be looked at?

Exiled Blade here, moved up with work but have become an honorary Caley fan. from what i saw on saturday it looked like a lack of fitness from caley players, the ball was moved around really quickly by celtic and caley couldnt keep up. i think your goalie looked really good but his defence seemed to open up time and time again, just look at the amount of chances that were created and saved, hit woodwork or were off target. its a shame because caley looked really fired up early on and maybe had they taken an early chance it could have been very differnt. hays looked quick despite looking overweight, and maybe if he trims a little he'll be able to keep it up over 90 mins.

hey - first post. im a sheffield united fan here in peace, moved up with work couple of months ago so have started going to caley games to watch football. i went to the celtic game, first time ive seen one of the old firm live and i thought that Caley were ok. the highlights that were shown was very biased towards celtic but if im honest i would expect from the bbc, its like man u or chelsea down south. I thought caley look trmendous early on in the game, really stuck it to them, shame they couldnt keep it up. i'll hopefully get to most home games, and hopefully see the legend that is terry butcher keep you boys up!
