  1. Seldom do I post on these forums these days, but it seems whenever I do, it's to pass on condolences and share memories of those whom made ICT such a joyous football club to support. Dave 'Uncle Albert' Shields, alongside his wife Kay, was absolutely part of that. Dave and Kay welcomed us Gringo's many years ago as we travelledup from Coventry; from giving us lifts to games from the Caley Inn (in what I believe was a blue Renault megane estate?), to hearing stories from the Navy, and of course those Innes Bar days, Dave will be sorely missed by us all. Many people on here will have heard of the Highland March - a fundraising walk between ICT's final two league fixtures for each season from 2003-2015 - What most people won't know is that if it wasnt for UA, there may not have been a HighlandMarch! After the original support driver pulled out at the last minute, UA stepped forward to take on the task. He, alongside the late great 'Bronson', looked after us brilliantly for that inaugural event. Without their support, the Highland March would not have existed. Dave, you gave me, my family, and so many people around you, so much joy and laughter. My condolences to Kay, Jill, Calum, and the kids. Rest easy kind sir x
  2. There's nothing more that I can add to what everyone else has already said 😪 I, like everyone, am truly stunned and saddened by this news. My thoughts go out to Johndo's friends, family, and the ICT community for this massive loss. RIP IHE
  3. Queens Park closing in on Sean Welsh, according to the Daily Record. Big Dunc allowing him to leave.
  4. He was interested in 2007. And our 'next game' back then was Dundee United. Experienced. Still got it. Would get respect of the players straight away. A favorite with fans everywhere he's been. And he wouldn't take any **** from above. Maybe get those ties in with Sheff Utd again like we had before? Youth development etc. People may laugh, but I think worth a consideration
  5. Club considering a deal for Harry Lodovica - will play another match as a trialist in tomorrow's game v Nairn (source: Inverness Courier)
  6. Harry Lodovica Played for Chelmsford City last season - 4 goals in 30 games Signed for Aveley Town on June 7th, but unable to see why he's been sent straight out to another club. From what I saw today, he's got a bit of pace and a physical presence, but seemed to lack confidence on the ball. The Chelmsford fans forum describes him as hit and miss and crap at headers... Hopefully he comes good
  7. One thing I miss about 'the good old days' is meeting fellow 'internutters' at the Caley Inn, or bumping unto folk at away days. Is the Word Association Game still going 😉🤣
  8. A while ago, ok, a few years ago, probably around the time of Forans tenure, there seemed to be a small handful of posters who would criticise the opinions of others without engaging in healthy debate. It was like it had to be their opinion or nothing. That, to me, put me off from getting involved and over time I just haven't bothered to re-engage. The NPL and Betting Fourm keeps me coming back, but having recently returned to the main forum, maybe it's time to be a 'regular' once again. I think we can all agree that, if it wasn't for CTO, some of us may never have the friendships we have now. For that, I'll be eternally grateful 🙏

Donations closed at midnight on Sunday. The total raised was £1,513 That's just over £750 each to Mikeysline and Celtic Foundation 👏🏼 Thanks again to everyone who donated and supported this venture 👍🏼🤗

After a brief discussion, I think I'm slowly persuading him to climb Schiehallion again 😉 We met an 80yr old bloke climbing it as we decended from the top on HM3, but he started from the car park. Yompa would need to go one bigger and start at Tummel Bridge 🤣

He did it!! 15hrs51 total duration, with the pedals turning for 13hrs26. 03:00 start, Daviot by 03:30, and Aviemore by 05:30. He'd got to Dunkeld by 11:00 and was through Stirlingshire in no time at all, arriving at Hampden at 18:51 What an effort. What a man. Monies raised go to Mikeysline and Celtic Foundation (like a the start of thread). Thanks to all who supported and donated. Very much appreciated.

2️⃣ DAYS TO GO until Yompa sets off from TCS 👍🏼 A reminder: He's a 70yr old bloke who's cycling 185-miles from TCS to Hampden, in just 1-day!!! Nearly £500 has been raised so far - half way to the initial target - with funds being split equally between MikeysLine 🔵🔴 and The Celtic Foundation 🟢⚪️ ICT have supported MikeysLine since their inception in 2015, and John Robertson is an ambassador for the charity. They provide Mental Health support to people across Inverness and the Highlands. But why Celtic Foundation too? Over recent years, supporters of the foundation have helped Yompa raise money and awareness for the Solving Kids Cancer charity. It's his way of giving something back, at a time when two teams with history in this competition come head to head in the final. Every donation helps, and we'd like to thank everyone for their support 👍🏼 Please follow on Twitter, @Road2Hampden 😊

Thank you 😊 My sources tell me that Yompa was on his bike again today, and on Saturday he'll take on the climb (vertually) out of Inverness, thus giving an indication of a rough time in which he aims to complete the challenge 👍🏼

Many of you may remember The Highland March - a walking event between the final two league matches of ICT's season, of which took place every year from 2003 to 2015. Well, two of us former marchers have come together to do something different in the build up to the Scottish Cup Final. Steve 'Yompa' Taylor (formerly known as 'InterTheNet') will be donning the lycra to cycle from Caledonian Stadium to Hampden Park IN A DAY. Steve sets off at 3am on Tuesday 30th May, and I will be joining him as the support driver. We'll be doing this for charity, with all monies being split equally between MikeysLine and the Celtic Foundation. Both of these charities provide mental health support to people of all backgrounds, in and around Glasgow and the Highlands. We invite you to follow us on Twitter (@Road2Hampden) where you will find the Just Giving page. Please donate what you can, if you can. Thank you 😊🔵🔴
  15. So sorry to read this news of Colin. I too would like to offer my condolences to his family. An ever present on this forum who will no doubt be missed. RIP Kingsmills

One of life's greats, and the most gentlest of giants. Totally gutted when I heard the news, and I extend my condolences to everyone who knew him, especially the Caley Inn Crew who were perhaps closest to him and most certainly a second family. His towering figure. His laugh. His humour. Just him. He's going to be missed be many. Heartbreaking. Rest easy big man 💔

As CaleyCanary has said, Bronson was part of the original Highland March back in 2003 and was indeed part of its conception. He was also so welcoming of me when I moved from Coventry to Inverness nearly 14years ago, and though I seldom saw him in recent years, he'd always be full of smiles and laughs whenever our paths crossed. A real ICT-nut and true legend. RIP Bronson x
  18. Funny how a 5-0 defeat can get you excited for the next game, if only a little bit. Perhaps its the injustice of being knocked out on goal difference to a team who effectively cheated in an earlier round? A sort of 'we're better than that' mentality?
  19. ☺️
  20. Did you not purchase someone's sausage roll for nearly £2 as well? ? <<< You mean this one lol Something alluded to in an previous comment is having tickets in advance. When the club first announced you couldn't pay at the turnstiles and needed to purchase in advance, it put me off going. I remember a game against Celtic that first season it was introduced and there was uproar on Twitter because of the ticket collection times too. The communication over it was poor and although it's been cleared up since then, introducing a policy without proper comms was ridiculous. Some banter on the touchlines was awesome. Don's "I'd rather be a brush than a Combe" chant to the Killie keeper, the borderline abuse Tony Bullock received but laughed off, not to mention Dougie Imrie's various put-downs are just some of the highlights. Stewarding was an issue for a while at ICT and certainly hadn't improved when I last visited the ground. It does put you off somewhat.
  21. Totally understandable - The Caley Inn Crew, The Innes Bar Bunch, Highland Marchers, meeting up with The Mob, Caley Away, or even just having a couple of pals in the car or on the train to games. All contributing factors in what have been amazing matchday experiences over the years. I vividly remember the 4-4 draw at Tannadise where the day leading up to the game was so great, we were chanting 'we want 4' when we went 3-0 down within the first 10-minutes, then had a 'rowing' competition with the other supporters bus on the route home! Great times.
  22. Also IHE - "I know of quite a few supporters who have said that they will not be coming back until the mess is sorted. That could be a long time. People nowadays also look at spending their spondoolachs on things that are more entertaining and are not leading to a life of frustration, disappointment, disillusionment and anger." I too know many fans, ironically locals, who have stayed away in recent years, so I'm not too sure how where you're born and bred has anything to do with who you support? No need for apologies. Suggestion appreciated ?
  23. For two seasons now I've struggled to find any degree of passion towards the club I once adored. In fact my last game was a 1-1 derby day draw on 18th March 2017 (my only game for that season too, with none [obviously] for last term!). It was as though winning the Scottish Cup and getting into Europe completely killed any ambition within the club. Losing the likes of Ryan, Graeme and Marley probably didn't help either. It seemed to me like Richie was sold down the river and whatever 'progress' the club attempted to make, it always seemed the 'cheap' option with no ambition or consideration behind decisions. To be fair, hanging up my boots and an ever reducing amount of enthusiasm for the beautiful game probably didn't help. This season, it seems different. Recruiting Barry as a coach, Scott as assistant, and Ryan Esson as goalkeeping coach, it all just seems to fit right for ICT. Hearing how the new recruits have fitted in is encouraging and even the new kit looks smart. The league itself looks like it'll be the most entertaining for years. It's got the feel of 2003 about it where any one could challenge for the title. I'm interested to see what others have to say about their ICT experiences over the past two or three years and what people's thoughts are for the future of this club. There'll undoubtedly be those who say 'support the club through think and thin' and I understand that notion. Sometimes, it's just not that easy.
  24. Rest assured the decision wasnt taken lightly. We will be back! Walking to Parkhead last year completely drained the enthusiasm from the event for many reasons. Walking there on the back of the Josh Meekings handball incident wasnt pleasant either. Ideas are in the pipeline for reigniting the HM spark and maybe, just maybe, avoid the dreaded SPL split.
  25. The week 16th to 24th May 2015 will see the 13th annual Highland March take place. Traditionally, this event sees some of our fans walk between the final two league games of the season. This year being Dundee Utd in Inverness and Celtic at Parkhead. The Highland Marchers are in need of a Support Driver for their Support Vehicle - this year in the form of a 6 berth Motorhome!! Traditionally, the Support Driver doesn't pay towards any costs for their accommodation or food. Without a driver the event cant take place, so as a thank you, these costs are covered by the Highland Marchers themselves. That will be the case again this year. If you are over 25 years old with a Full UK license, No points or convictions and are able to lend your hand for the week 16-24 May, please show your hand. Currently in place is Chumba (Beatonio), however due to a sketchy and unpredictable state of health, may have to pull out at any stage or indeed before we even leave Inverness. CaleyD has taken on the roll before and would likely vouch that it is indeed a cracking week on the road. There are 4 men and 1 lass involved for the end to end event. All able to deliver great banter and all ICT daft.
