  1. Oops sorry about that! Meant to say that double glazing firm CR Smith sponsored both the uglies in the mid 80s.
  2. Had a sinking feeling when I heard both Proctor and Tokely playing today. Can't make basic mistakes like they did and hope to have a prayer against an OF team. Got to say they played us off the park second half without creating a huge number of chances. When the opposition press the ball as Celtic did we don't seem able to cope and our play becomes rushed and riddled with misplaced passes. One to forget ASAP.
  3. was i believe a fairly recent occurance with ntl being the first to sponsor both at the same time
  4. Terry combed the English League to find this one.
  5. Good point made about Rosco I just don't think he can get back in this team now barring injury/suspension. Centre back definitely Gillet's best position.
  6. Watching on alba that was a really solid team performance. The biggest thing despite a couple of dodgy moments we have finally pieced together a decent defence after a bewildering season of injuries/changes. Also better passing and less long ball yesterday! Starting to feel really optimistic for second half now.
  7. Don't think we should feel ashamed of our stadium in any way it has a unique character. As for atmosphere yes it is lacking but that goes for many larger and more conventional grounds too. What does need sorting is the state of the car park. To charge two quid to park on what in winter resembles either a swamp or an ice rink is not on.
  8. The world has gone mad. The definition of "offensive behaviour" in the bill has been made so wide that you could conceivably be arrested, fined and banned from matches for complaining too loudly about the quality of the pies. The question is whether the boys in blue will exercise commonsense in enforcing bad law. Lets hope so! A bill that set out with the laudable aim of tackling sectarianism has the potential to ruin our game.
  9. Dare I say it not a lot to fear from either of our next two opponents on today's evidence. Agree it wasn't a red card but Pawlett has dived for the pen IMO. Hope we get a "strong" ref next Sat against Craigy's Chancers.
  10. In Tade we have a player who has shown he will run himself into the ground for an hour or so. He will also harass Rangers defenders/midfielders constantly and provide the best out ball option. Far better that he starts then give McKay 20-25 minutes.
  11. Not even putting Piermayr on the bench (assuming he is fit) was a massive blunder. How much defensive cover do we have that TB could afford to leave him out? The second half yesterday brought back memories of the last days of Brewster the way we played. Not saying we're at that stage yet but the scary thing is we probably had a better defence then.
