  1. Dear Mr Cameron What on God's green earth were you and the rest of the board thinking? Next time just keep quiet, will ya? Look at the damage your naive and poorly-timed statement has done. Sincerely Concerned of Chingford
  2. Whether or not Kenny Cameron or the board have been trying to mislead fans, this was an extraordinarily naive statement to release, and it's already done a load of damage to the club. Why couldn't they have done the sensible thing and just kept their mouths shut?
  3. Well said, Alex.
  4. Sadly, RiG, I think you're right. I've always worried about this happening to us.
  5. There's only so much of this kind of drivel that fans can take from the morons running the game in this country before they say "screw this for a game of soldiers!" and go looking for an alternative. I for one am more than halfway there already. This whole thing stinks of corruption and bullying. I'm glad at least Alex Thomson is telling it like it is.
  6. Apparently, according to Mr Cameron, "This could be the end of football as we know it". Maybe that's not a bad thing if the game as we know it is dead on its feet. The SPL's founding principles were greed and dishonesty, and now the chickens are coming home to roost.
  7. Yeesh, utter, utter rubbish. I think we also need these:
  8. I think it's sad what's happened to him. A few years ago his future looked very bright, he was (and probably still is) a talented player and if things had worked out better he could have gone on to much better things. But partly because he's his own worst enemy and partly because Hearts are in such a mess he's on a bit of a downward spiral. I hope he can get things sorted out, but Newco FC probably isn't the place for that!
  9. Craig Burley's not the sharpest tool in the box. Neither are the editorial staff of the Daily Ranger. However, they're all worthy of Mensa membership compared to the idiots who are supposed to be in charge of Scottish football and who have let it get in such a mess. I wonder if Neil Doncaster's brain cell ever gets lonely?
  10. These statements from people like Doncaster are all rhetoric from people with their own agendas and vested interests and who think that threats and lies will get them their own way. Whereas I find the Raith and Stranraer statements heartening, everything that's come from Doncaster and his mates just goes to show how corrupt the game is in Scotland. It's long past time to clear out this stinking Augean stables and make a fresh start. I just hope the people making the decisions have the guts to do it.
  11. I think a small part of me just died inside when I saw this pic
  12. Oh goody, a flame war What is life if we can't laugh at County every now and again? I mean, c'mon, it's County!
  13. I've been concerned for a long time now about how uninspiring our signings have been in the last couple of years, and about the high rate of player turnover. How are we supposed to build any kind of stability and consistency when at least half the first team is being replaced every year? It's also been noted that the team has lost its identity, and I think this is true. As someone who now lives down south and doesn't get to a lot of games, I'm not very familiar with any of our players any more - I think the only one I'd actually recognise on the street is Ryan Esson, and this makes me a little sad. It doesn't feel like "my" team any more, and it definitely doesn't have the same strong identity that it used to, which is a real shame. I don't know what the solution is, but I would certainly like to see more stability and more home-grown players, instead of a bunch of anonymous journeymen.
  14. I think it's pretty clear that there really is no such thing any more as "sporting integrity". If there was, fan disillusionment would not be a problem, and Scottish football would be much healthier.
  15. Maybe they should spend the whole season just playing bounce games against their reserves.
  16. How utterly tiresome, and how completely predictable. Not pleased at all.
  17. I wouldn't be at all surprised. I think there'd be a tremendous amount of resentment if they were simply allowed to walk into Division 1. I think even if they apply for admittance to the SFL it's not going to be an easy process for them... hopefully.
  18. Whine, whine whine... It's a very irritating noise after a while. Somebody give him back his dummy before he has a full-on tantrum. :baby:
  19. Karma's a b***h. After the way Rangers have behaved all these years they have no right to be surprised if other clubs are vindictive towards them.
  20. If only the people running football over here were as sensible as those running MLS. The amount of money bring thrown around by big clubs in England and the rest of Europe is really harming the game, especially at grassroots level. In the last year or so I've become quite disillusioned with it and I do wish we could move to a more MLS style system, it definitely seems fairer and sounds like it's actually a competitive and exciting league.
  21. I had some down time and finally got back on CTO, I've missed it here!! As for refreshments, the honest answer is I don't know. August maybe?
  22. I will be extremely disappointed if we vote yes. Business decisions be damned, it's about time some integrity was put back in the game.
  23. From Twitter. I am surprised at Hearts going against Rangers, surely they need money more than any other SPL club. Meh, Vladimir Romanov uses his own logic, which doesn't necessarily conform to anyone else's. While I agree with the things he says in his statement, they sound a bit hypocritical coming from him :snigger:
  24. Twitter's a waste of time IMO, nothing but glib soundbites.
