  1. No Palace game this week (thankfully!), so would be nice for this one to go ahead and be streamed.... Looks fairly wet all the way until late Friday, although breezy, then the temperatures goes below freezing, but perhaps not long enough to affect the pitch (or might they run the under-soild heating for a period. Saturday itself looks OK, unless you we're sat in the stands getting chilled to the bone (which of course no one is) Actually a lovely sunny morning down here in South London, so I have my optimistic hat on. I sooo miss my trips up North Be good to see Carson back and see who goes in the wing in place of Kennedy.
  2. I'm a bit more hopeful, I could see a pause in the season til mid to late Feb, but then a restart with the season running to late June/Early July
  3. This is terrible news, a huge loss to the ICT family. I can't quite believe it. RIP Ian
  4. I forgot we got money for Donaldson, and Oakley
  5. Can you recall what we got McKay and Draper.... I think it was something like £150K for McKay, was Draper 100K?
  6. Whilst reading my book in the bath (as you do) it occurred to me that there was no mention of transfers fees, probably because we don't seem to pay them, and any we get in seem to be 'undisclosed'...from my shorter time supporting the club, I can only recall Billy McKay, Ryan Christie and Ross Draper attracting any sort of fee. Who else have we got a fee for? Have we ever paid a transfer fee to get a player in?
  7. Looks a real open league this season, I reckon there are seven teams in it, and although Hearts probably will get automatic promotion, it's not a shoe-in IMO. Could be all about who can go on a really go run for the last 10 games...and for the guys in 2nd place after the play-offs, whether they are strong enough not to be picked off by the 11th placed team in the SPL. What are the chances of Caley facing a John Hughes led Ross County for that SPL spot!
  8. I got my copy as a Christmas present, it's a terrific read for someone like me, a Sassenach, with no roots in Inverness or even Scotland, and for whom Caley first came to my attention on the 8th Feb 2000 and whose first live match was 20th October 2013 (v Partick). Reading it, brings home how incredible ICT's journey has been so far! And though I never got to see the likes of Tokely, Wilson, Sheerin and Wyness, let along Hayes, Rooney and (Charlie) Christie... these guys are all set in context, and I can see the overall picture. I must say it stirs the loins somewhat, and brings a tear to the eye, I can't wait for us to be rid of the damn pestulance, so that I can make my forays North again to see the boys in Red n Blue (or pink!)
  9. I agree on extending Kennedy's loan, but he may have been brought in to cover for Doran being injured, and he's now fit Much as we'd like a more prolific goalscorer, I'm not sure where we'd found one for zero transfer fee and very low wages, unless it's the Highland league And arguably we have cover in every position, especially midfield...if McHattie, Duffy and Toshney are anywhere near fit, then the defence has back up too So expecting very little business if any
  10. Caley losing capped off a ***** weekend, especially as I saw we were leading! Earlier my other team got properly stuffed by Liverpool 0-7, despite actually giving them a good game...the difference being the finishing! And of course at 4pm Boris cancelled Christmas, and had all three grown up daughters in tears over facetime. Still it could be worse, at least none of my family have had the Virus (so far), we all still have our jobs (so far) and it's not like we're facing 'The Blitz'. Back to the match..was this a case of Caley going into the match over-confident, and forgetting to do the basic stuff well? A bit of a blow, but the season is still young and we're 4 points off 2nd place, so no reason to think that a good play-off place is not an achieveable aspiration. Hopefully Carson will be back in the starting line up soon in the sort of from he was in last season.
  11. A big surprise! Palace played really well in the second half, obviously helped by the sending off..but we are notoriously bad taking on 10 men! Maybe things are changing, lets eee what happens against Spurs this weekend.... It's always makes for a fab weekend when both my sides win, and win well. As for Caley, I find it incredible that Robbo can start another season with virtually a new side, put together on even less money and get them gelled and delivering good performances. A big shout out to Harper, who is doing a great job to the extent that I don't think we re missing Tremarco
  12. Watched it on BBC Scotland with my wife, really enjoyed it. I said earlier in the season that with so many changes and injuries, the team needed a bit of time to gel, and they certainly look that way now. Who would have thought that a midfield two of MacGregor and Allardice would look so strong, and to think we have options of Welsh, Vincent and Carson (when fit) bodes well for the rest of the season. Defensively looking pretty good too, Harper is really impressing me, I think he made only one mistake, Deas is class and Devine is settling in. Brad did little wrong yesterday, but I'd like to see someone similar to Harper on the right in the long term. Robinson seems to have hit on a good format up front, Sutherland is a quietly effective player who seems to be rotating between right wing and further forward through the game with Storey and its working. I think Keatings is probably the cleverest of the lot, but his final goes awry sometimes. Kennedy really is a bonus for us this season, fair play to those who got him in and to the player himself, who works constantly. The key to our season maybe be whether we can extend his loan in January, as it also benefits us that Doran dosn't have to be used continuously (with his injury record). I think MOTM went deservedly to MacGregor, but he had a few guys on his coat tails especially Deas and Kennedy Have to say that I much prefer watching Caley at the moment, than my English team Palace, who have been coached into relentlessly boring and defensive football by Hodgson despite have some great offensive talent....I wonder how well Robbo would do down here!
  13. I thought Brad looked very solid, and no hint of a mistake coming from Devine....Deas looks a very sound CB, and I have to say Harper really impressed me, as a full back who can actually defend.
  14. It was a shame that so many people missed the first half in a unforgiveable manner, and they missed two attempts for Storey who hit the bar...I thought he played pretty well, seems to be a different player when he plays for us, although he can be a bit hit and miss. Keatings frustrates me a bit as he is capable of great stuff, but gives the ball away far too easily
  15. Great result! Fully deserved that Lots of good performances....Macgregor and Allardice, the entire back 5, Kennedy and Storey Really enjoyed that, not quite as good as being there, but has given me a big boost
  16. I'm kind of surprised to see Sutherland playing so deep on the right...almost the 3rd midfielder
  17. Roddy Macgregor comes close....great work from Miles Storey (who does look strong today)
  18. Great move from a quick free kick...just as RR were showing signs of life!
  19. Blimey almost another goal for Caley ...from Kennedy
