Arbroath Away Team
You’ve missed my point completely, which was insinuating that our fans, and many posters on here by implication, only see ICT as their wee second team after one of the Old Firm.

Arbroath Away Team
That's so insulting to the vast majority of our fans. We have no right to be in the top league. We have to get there on merit, but realistically with our budget and fan base it will always be hard. We punched above our weight for many years, and we need good leadership from the Board, Management Team and senior players to get back to those heights. Not impossible but with our financial position, it is getting harder. A play off place is our best hope this season realistically. A cup run would be a bonus too.

Arbroath Away Team
I think they are both missing Welsh who is so good at giving protection and tidying things up. They are more exposed as a result so mistakes are more likely.

Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd
Very disappointing afternoon: totally outclassed. I would only give pass marks to Trafford and Ridgers, plus Walsh after he came on. Carson did ok, but the rest were poor. Shankland could have been sent off and the ref had some poor decisions but I don’t think that changed things. We were just not good enough. We certainly miss Welsh. At one point I thought Tremarco was losing the plot after his booking but he got a grip. Similarly Rooney would have been a red card risk had he not got injured. McKay should have replaced him rather than Vincent Really hard to work out what we need to change. We go between doing well and doing poorly, so need consistency. A result at Arbroath will help greatly then we can have a breather and focus on the cup for a week. United, despite their recent defeats, are a cut above the other teams, and have shown that against us. We need to be more consistent and aim for, at worst, second.

EGM called on 3rd October
Any word of more investors? I see Westlife are playing at the stadium at the end of June: hopefully we are getting well paid for it and hopefully other events could be lined up to use the stadium out of season too.

Arabs Preview
We’ve dropped to fourth with Dundee bearing Morton. Hope the Arabs bad away form continues tomorrow and we get a result. I’m meeting a colleague before the game for a few pints who supports them so it will be good to have the bragging rights afterwards. I see Marley Watkins started for Bristol City at Barnsley tonight: his first start since last September.

That sums things up nicely. We have been inconsistent, had some lucky breaks and some unlucky ones, but probably only have one stand out performance, the 5-0 against Morton. We can have a good season but need to find consistency or we will be sucked into the mid table pack. Big week coming up with Queen of the South and Dundee United. Four points should be our minimum target, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we only got one or even none. As someone has said in this thread, we need to get a grip.

Morton Preview
Ayr have now lost 3 in a row after winning 6 out of 7, so maybe their bubble is bursting. Dundee will become a threat at the top end of the table.

Morton Preview
We can’t be complacent after our 5-0 and 3-1 wins against them. They have 10 points from 4 home league games so anything more than 1 point will be an excellent result for us.

Inverness CT -V- Alloa
I missed the game due to a family birthday so interested in the views above. I thought we were poor in last week’s win, and it sounds like we were poorer today. We are missing Walsh and Welsh. Hopefully Walsh is back soon. Any word on him or Todorov? Of what I’ve seen of Storey, he is better playing wide, but not as effective as Walsh. Keatings can hopefully start next week and we continue our success against Morton. Sounds like today was a good day to be unable to attend, though.

ICT v Alloa - live audio commentary
No word of any problem. they’ve been watering it heavily all season, even on days when there has been rain so I expect it will be fine.

I can’t make tomorrow’s game due to family commitments so will tune in if I get a chance.

Another Cup - A new destination ?
Glad it’s a non Championship side and a home game makes us favourites. I agree with DD, no room for complacency but hopefully we progress to the semis and then the final. Momentum is important.

Inverness CT -V- Alloa
Back home now and have read my comments which are probably a bit negative on reflection. We did the job, had a comfortable win, got game time for some fringe and younger players and are in the quarter finals. Mackay really only had one meaningful save to make and dealt with it at the second attempt, whilst he had no chance with the two attempts Alloa hit the woodwork with. Rooney was dangerous, but could have been given the ball more by Storey when he was looking to overlap. Harper had a decent game, particularly first half, largely taking a safety first approach. Donaldson and McHattie has a comfortable afternoon in the main. Trafford was busy and it was a powerful shot that took a deflection. Carson chases and harried and used the ball well when he had it. I was a bit disappointed by Storey. He kept the ball when a pass could have given us better opportunities, particularly when Rooney was upfield, but his pace was troubling the defence and his cross set up the third. Doran kept the ball well, but tended to slow play down. MacGregor had two chances in the first half. The first was a difficult header from a powerful Rooney cross. The second fell to him but he couldn’t get enough on the ball. I was surprised Curry started up front rather than wide. He took his goal well and had a couple of other efforts. White was a nuisance to the defence when he came on, whilst Vincent was steady. Highlight was the late cameo from Machado and the sheer joy when he scored at the back post. Only 973 there, if I heard the tannoy announcement correctly. And John McKendrick had a good afternoon as referee.
