  1. We must get Donaldson signed up longer term. It will be very bad if we lose him when his current deal expires in January.

    New Striker

We have three fit strikers, all scored tonight.... Just being provocative!!

    St Mirren match

Craig Samson in SPFL team of the week. For his saves, not his assault!!
  4. I'm in Glasgow due to work commitments glued to the BBC text commentary whilst my brother in law is using my ticket! Seems very one sided although Brechin hit the post in the second minute. 7 shots on target with 5 saved, 3 from Mulraney all sounds good. Hopefully someone there will confirm we are well on top. Nice also to see St Mirren behind after Saturday's fiasco, but a pity Dumbarton are winning. That said, Queen of the South seem to be on a bad run and we have nothing to fear in Dumfries on Saturday. Onwards and upwards!
  5. The ref hit us in the face!! Or Sansom hit Vigurs in the face!

    St Mirren match

    The mind boggles!! Lol....
  7. Can't argue with any of that. Well said Robbo! spot on assessment.
  8. Which highlights just how had the referee was. A disgraceful performance. Like others, I try not to slate officials, but he had a nightmare performance and spoiled the game.
  9. I agree re Mckay and Trafford. Not convinced yet by Oakley and Baird does work hard. I don't think a Mulraney was injured. Early in the second half, from my seat it was clear he was struggling with the conditions. I think he and Bell swapped sides in the first half as the right wing near the away end goal was saturated and heavy. As the water spread, his ability to input positively reduced. It was right to hook him, but I agree Calder was perhaps not he best replacement. Trafford on then and a straight 4 4 2 may have been a better option.
  10. I assumed the heavy conditions meant Doran was not being risked. Mulraney was struggling in the conditions so no surprise he was hooked.
  11. Well said, beaten by the ref today. For those not there, conditions were appalling, and in the second half the ball was holding up badly in front of our goal. I doubt the game would have gone ahead had the pitch been that sodden at the start. We had the best of the first half, with several good efforts from range, particularly from Polworth but also Vigurs and Chalmers, with Warren coming close from a header. The weather and ref spoiled the second half. It was a bad penalty to concede, whilst the second was a late breakaway. I said before half time there would be a sending off as it was a bad tempered game. St Mirren were quite cynical, but some of our players were getting wound up about it and mouthing a lot to the ref. That didn't help our cause. Quite how Vigurs got sent off amazes me when the culprit was the St Mirren goalie. The ref bottled sending him off and booked both players, hence Vigurs being off. Disgraceful. Credit to the players though for trying in dreadful conditions. We were the better team and tried to play football, so fans not there should not feel things have turned for the worse. Even more credit to those, like me, in the lower tier of the main stand who stayed until the very end. It was the wettest I have been at a game in a very long time.

    St Mirren match

Is there any risk to the game going ahead after this week's weather?
  13. I sit in the main stand near the tunnel, and could hear it clearly for the first time this season.
  14. Connor Bell is in the SPFL team of the week.
  15. A short term deal at the right price for the club would seem sensible all round. He gets a chance to sell himself, we get a versatile player who would be useful if injuries or suspensions start to bite.
  16. But as he is so left footed, why was he playing wide right? We switched Bell when Calder came on, so Bell right and Cooper left could have been an option from the start?
  17. Epic quote, and very accurate!
  18. Disappointing first half and lucky to go in level. I think we really missed Mulraney's pace in his attacking wide midfield role. Much better second half, and I think we should have had a penalty when Baird went down under a push. Bell took his goal well, and his energy is impressive. We did not control midfield as much as in recent weeks, but got the job done which is what mattered. I will miss the Brechin game due to work, but hopefully we get three points then to set up what should be an interesting home game against St Mirren in a fortnight. Credit to the defence, 7 clean sheets is a great achievement, even if first half today needed some luck! Great to see Aaron Doran back, looking fit and lively.
  19. Alba yes, Chorley FM has it as its highlight of the year!! Lol.
  20. And we loved that "touch"!
  21. I forgot that Mulraney is on international duty so we will have at least one change. Calder to give width with Bell playing more right than left?
  22. No mention of any fresh injuries, so hopefully Tremarco has shrugged off the injury he picked up last weekend. I will be happy with an unchanged team and an unchanged bench for tomorrow's game. Given the forecast temperature, we need a good performance to keep us warm!
  23. I thought John McGinlay would have been born in Fort William. He went to Lochaber High School, as did Donald Park and Duncan Shearer. I can't think of a successful player to come out of The Fort since that time!
  24. Having lived on the Fylde in exile for a few years seeing their incredible rise before we returned to Inverness, I was delighted with the late Fleetwood goal!!
