Yep, got side tracked. Daniel is best placed coming off the bench to freshen things up. White best left on the bench to halt the staleness up front.

?CTO comedian ,yeah just leave our top scorer on the bench, sounds like a plan ?

A single 25 goal a season striker, far less 2, is a forlorn hope. What we do need is for the forwards we have to be more mobile and more clinical.

White does not seem to have that in his armoury. Time to give the others a chance

Well you are correct about a 25 goal striker being a forlorn hope, because past history tells us that there has only been 1 player who has managed to achieve 25 league goals in the Scottish Championship in the past 10 seasons.

Stevie May whilst with St Johnstone got 25 league goals.

Yes I was at the game thanks for asking. Worldie saves or not they were still missed chances no?

The defensive mistake, 10 minutes into the match, cost us a goal. It didn't cost us the game.

If we keep a clean sheet and miss numerous chances you can blame the missed chances ,but it’s my humble opinion on Saturday it’s very harsh to blame missed chances for the draw.

We lost the goal due to an unforced blunder, we scored a very good goal by skill from the striker and other chances were saved by the skill of the opposing goalkeeper.

But you want blame the missed chances ?

I suppose we all look at things differently.

  4. unbelievable is the only word I can find for some comments on this thread.

In other games yes we have missed some easy chances but last week ,the defensive blunder cost us the game,if people dont want to accept this its up to them to bury their head in the sand.

    Have a good weekend folks.

So one defensive mistake versus multiple spurned chances at the opposite end? Thanks for confirming that it was our attack that cost us on Saturday.

    Spurned chances lol

were you at the game,, they were all decent saves and and a worldie save from young Daniels shot, behave yourself!!

Our draws at home were against Ayr, Alloa, QotS and Morton.  The scoreless draws against Ayr and QotS (and RC) as well as 1-1 v Morton I think is Carl implying that while the defence is doing their job, they are frustrated that perhaps others are not.  It must be frustrating for him as a defender and captain to see  home scoreless draws and or low scoring draws against teams not shoo-ins for top positions.

Being in playoff positions at this stage of the season is good, the finals standings will have the same teams in at the end bar one maybe two.  To avoid being in that two, the players are obviously starting to look at the goal threat.  To stay in the playoff positions or higher we need a few players in double digits.  If we don’t have that then in January we will n2eed to loan it in.

Well Glover  maybe Carl should have a word with his fellow defender after last weeks terrible mistake that led to the goal ,dont lose a goal and we are halfway to a win.

Defence cost us game on Saturday.

However we aee only a tweak away from good season.

  7. well lets put it this way What would everybody prefer after 8 games

    last seasons start of 5pts

or this seasons start of 14 points?

Its not as if we havent won any game this season we could go to tannadice and win and we would be sitting on 17 points ,yet some would prefer 1 win in 3, so over 9 games 9 points cmon get real.

Some people need to be careful what they wish for including the manager as 3 losses instead of 3 draws and some would be calling for his head.

We should be embracing the fact we have gone undefeated instead of rediculing it.

Draws can easily turn into defeats as well as wins and a losing streak can sometimes be hard to break too.

  8. Thats all very well with not liking  the unbeaten run from last year, but

compared to where we were last season after matchday 8

    Last season

    League Position  9th

     won 1

    draw 2

    lost 5

    points 5

    This season

    League Postion  3rd

     won 3

    draw 5

    lost 0

    points 14

We are certainly doing so much better than last seasons start.

Also if we lost 3 games in a row we wouldnt be enjoying that would we,I think that would do my head in more than an unbeaten run.

We created other half decent chances where our poor finishing let us down. We've wasted a lot of good chances to turn draws into wins and Saturday was another example of this. As mentioned in the thread sadly we don't have an out and out goalscorer so we will likely see a lot of chances go to waste but it is still frustrating nonetheless.

    4 chances if I recollect

1each from Doran , McKay and Austin all good stops including a top save  from keeper

1 chance from White who scored

So in this game it certainly wasn’t the missed chances that cost us the game ,it was slack defending.

Other games yes we have squandered chances but on Saturday we could have had 3 points instead of 1 if we didn’t lose a silly goal.

Depends on whether I am drunk or sober, I suppose, Gregor.?

But you are right ...it's not as bad as the Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team results so far. .

Haha wish your ice hockey teeam well , but agree with you its not as bad as lots on here make out ,as compared to where we were last season after matchday 8

    Last season League Position  9th / won 1 /draw 2/lost 5/points 5

    This season League Postion  3rd / won 3/draw 5/lost 0/points 14

I can see why people are unhappy lol

Unfortunately the Ronaldo's of this world are very hard to find at the price we can afford. and J R will have his hands full  in improving results I am afraid.

It's like the Vancouver Canuck-another terrible start to the season  despite declaring the club's intention to go with youth and greater speed etc, . Yawn !!!!!!!    I will believe it when it happens. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. And, Frank Kelly speaking, I don't think there is a desire to spend money because I also don't think it is available at this time     So....whew!

Are you being serious thinking its a terrible start to the season ?

    Him and his Dad.

Must have four dads then as thats five people voted for him now lol, in all seriousness dont really get all the negativity and  lack of respect for a player who is wearing Caley colours. He scored an exellent goal on saturday that got us a point and kept our unbeaten run going.

I would have thought he would have gained at least a point from most people for that reason alone but i suppose that was never going to happen when some people are voting for same player in all categories.

We have had some negative press this year with bad behaviour from our so called fans against Liam and his family which was a disgrace.Little comments made about who voted for J Shyte etc, which is abusive to our own players, could potentially lead to White being the next scapegoat and bad behaviour spilling out at the ground.

We as a club certainly dont need a repeat of abusive behaviour towards our own players in what is our special season.

To me - Robbo deserves this. I don't think that any other manager close to his caliber would have taken this post. Lets stop all the crepe and get behind the team. To me a play off spot would be an accomplishment this season.

Have to agree with you ,and we arw on right track.

Erm, what? It's been a feature of our play this season that we have not capitalised on the chances we have created. We've been incredibly wasteful in front of goal this season.

Was talking about Saturdays game if we hadn’t been lax in defence the game would have been won and three points in the bag .

  15. 1 hour ago, Kingsmills said:

Because we do not have a natural finisher. All the more reason for Daniel McKay to get an extended spell in the starting XI. If you're good enough you're old enough.

And what did you think of Whites goal on Sat ?

  16. 6 hours ago, LairdMattie said:

Agree completelly about that give away, no idea what he was thinking going for that pass. Hopefully Robbo will have a word with him about that, totally dangerous and 100% could have been avoided and Morton punished us for it.

Looks like we had a good few chances in front of goal as well, disappointing that we continue our habit of choking infront of goal. I'll be homeward bound around the time of the Dundee UTD game, hopefully no silly mistakes there.

What was dissapointing on Saturday was the manner in which we lost the goal not in the chances missed

  17. 11 hours ago, IBM said:

I have not been impressed with him but have to give him credit for that goal but we are looking for more so lets hope he can improve on that for him and us.

If he can keep up the ratio of 1 in 2 then he will be just fine and defo in top five goalscorers in the league. The problem is lots of people think strikers should be scoring 20 league goals plus in a season and yet in reality its only a few who do. We have got decent strikers in White ,Austin and Oakley.

Its a team game just look at Dobbie he is top scorer in UK at the moment but we are above Queens in the league.

Given it was our 18s and their 20s you would have hoped that the seniors would have helped us edge the game however i think bar mccart it proved why they aren't starters.

So maybe Robbo gets it correct in his first team  selections after all .

    White's goal was well taken.

It was a very well taken goal as he was strong to hold off the defender and score, not bad for a big donkey as some on here are calling him ?

In all seriousness that’s him scored 3 goals in his last 6 starts which is a good return imo.

  20. Jjust watching the Ryder Cup and what an advantage is the home crowd

At all our away games especially County last week we didn’t wait for the players to inspire us but we got behind them from the start.

We are not alone in this as lots of home crowds are terrible but wouldn’t it be good if we reversed the trend and really got behind the team at home too.

just to keep spirits up We are still unbeaten in the league and other teams are seeing a point against us at home as a good result .

Got a feeling this is going to be a good season.

  21. I must watch a different game with White getting all the blame lol , the reason we didn’t get the goals yesterday was that Queens sat in and cut of the runners from the three behind White not allowing them to  perform as well as they have done and hardly any chances were created.

White as a target man is decent and yesterday he still led the line well ,we have 3 good strikers unfortunately Oakley is injured and Young Daniel is there for backup . let’s be honest the team have done well over the season.

Maybe we need to go with 442 in next game with Austin and White up top but then I would start Calder and Walsh wide with Polwarth in centre mid , the big choice would then be one out of three for remaining central midfield slot in

    Welsh , Chalmers or Doran

Who would be a Manager lol

Thats why we need to leave it to Robbo and IMO he has done not too bad this season in his management.

Why don’t we try and see the positives and get behind the team at home like we do away , funny that we have won away at Falkirk Dunfermline and did well at County. You would think we were at a funeral at home so maybe us fans have to take a bit of the blame too and make some noise instead of coming on here and talking about being bored and nit  picking at players performance, we are playing in the Scottish Championship , not la liga or The Premier League in England , and we are the only unbeaten team in the league.

Onwards to next weeks game and let’s see what the managers team selection will be.

  22. This will be the 4th league game in a row with same starting 11  for game v Queens.

Same line up for previous 3 games which we have won 2 drawn 1 , scored 6 goals and only conceded 2 .

The change in formation to 4231 has worked as when we played 442 in the league in the first 3 games we won 1 drew 2 scored 3 conceded 2

Well done to the manager and players who are developing into a team capable of winning the title.

Think we have to stop our sniping and get behind this squad and management.

I agree, subs should have been made. Jordan Whyte hardly won a ball up front and Jo Chalmers looked increasingly flagged. The fans all around us were pushing for a change. Daniel could have ripped up their no.15 who as my cousin put it ‘was running in waders’.  The tide was going County’s way and whilst we saw our a draw and I was delighted with the result, I feel a change would have benefitted the situation.

Great to see the Jack Davis and Barry Wilson having some shots in the pre match warm up for fun!

We drew the game and Robbo made one substitution which I felt was correct as a draw was an excellent result.

Think its so harsh to criticise the manager ,its not just you btw,or any members of the team for Saturdays performance.

You have higlighted 2 players that should have been replaced in Chalmers when imo he had played so well, and White(its White and not Whyte ?) who in the managers view was terrific once again, think I will trust the managers judgement on the substitutions as he is getting results with a settled team that is fighting for each other
