Time for change
To all who say its only Partick. Take seven teams from the SPL and the top seven in Div 1. Put them all together in one league and I'll bet Partick would compete with the best of them.

Guy speaks better english than some I've heard in Inverness. Like you say Don, the guy was in a position to take the shots. Luck or no they went in and thats all that matters. Vigurs goal was a peach though. He didn't even look up to see where the goals were. Just instictively took it on and scored.

Supporters bus info
These buses are run by the Supporters club for its members. Members normally have all the info sent to them in a newsletter which is probably why its not available elsewhere.

Time for change
I find it very offensive that people come on here and miscry somebody they probably dont even know. Do any of you know DJS? Yes he's a driving instructor. Has been for about four years. What did he do before that? DJS came onto the Trust Board and was voted into the chair. He is not dictating to anyone. He is voicing the concerns of Trust members who have expressed opinion. The Trust meeting last week gave him the authority to carry forward those concerns. Around sixty bothered to attend the meeting and some who did not argue that this meeting is not representative of the Trust membership. Sorry but I believe it is representative. To not turn up is to accept the outcome in exactly the same way as to not vote at an election is to accept the result. The actions of the last weeks have made it known to the club that their customers are not happy. The board and the management team are now in the spotlight. They have accepted that things were wrong and that actions must be taken to turn it all around. They appear to be acting in the manner expected. They are wasting no time bringing in new faces and it may well be that those new faces and any others that may come in will turn things around for us. It may also be that the actions of DJS and the Trust have been the proverbial kick up the backside that was needed for the board to act. Nobody is going to admit to that but hopefully from now on in we will see improvement on the field. If we do I'll be the first in the queue to stand and congratulate everyone concerned.

To be fair I'd never have thought of that one either

Vote of no Confidence
You forgot one Johndo: Look at the fact that, in those times of recession when retail outlets of great standing are going to the wall and others are desperately slashing prices, our Commercial Manager see's this as a good time to increase prices in the club shop. But of course we, the dumb punters, are not supposed to notice this.

Very observant Stevo. I didn't actually edit anything though. I click on the box press return and the stupid thing posts itself before I write. Just like happened with this one.

my understanding was that there used to be 2 sometimes 3 buses going to away games. with no reference to things on the park i'm curious to know why folk don't use them now... and could anything be done to get more folk to use them in the future? looking for ideas... As someone who doesn't live in Sneck, but who has used supporters bus in the past from Perth, I think the times of the buses may have something to do with it. People want to get there and have time for a drink or two before a game. The buses normally got there a quarter hour or so before kick off.

Alex - I dont see anyone from the Trust claiming that this is anything to do with the Trust. In fact, it doesnt seem to be anything to do with the Supporters Club either other than the fact that they will be tasked with running the actual bus or busses. I agree with you that Kath does a great job with the busses and has done so for many years, but the cost is being borne personally by a few of the directors so it is them and only them who should be claiming any pats on the back for this initiative. Thats what I said!! It was insinuated in at least one post though. Wasn't aware people were dipping into their own pockets to fund this though.

Cath Fraser, on behalf of the Supporters Club, has the thankless task of organizing buses for away games. In the past there's been at least two, as well as an Innes Bar bus, leaving the city. This last while its been a struggle to get enough to make running one bus a viable proposition. The club have recognised this and have taken it upon themselves to fund any buses. Knowhere have I seen that the Trust had anything to do with this, regardless of wednesdays meeting, and, bearing in mind that buses need to be booked in advance, for anyone to suggest this as some sort of Trust victory is rather niave and stupid. And if others think they can drum up some sort of SC v ST rivalry just remember most members would end up fighting their own shadows. Most of us are members of both.

Trialists (merged)
Considering this round is the first for SPL teams I can't see how they could be cup tied.
-
East Stirlingshire
They still own Firs Park John but hadn't the funds to bring the place up to required safety standards. They have signed a five year agreement to groundshare with Stennie and hope to raise funds in that time.

David Sutherland v David Sutherland
Question: Non ST member shareholders were invited to attend the meeting. Did any take up the offer?

Scotty's last sentence is the crucial factor. He will now have his team in place. Can he do something with it. We could say we're in new territory now.
-
East Stirlingshire
Yep, been to their ground on a few occassions but I wouldn't go on saturday cos they play at Ochilview now.

OF Clearout
I think its more a case of him not wanting to move out of the comfort zone of the SPL , after all he'd be found out big style by most Championship defences . Agree

Brewster the player
So far as I'm aware Brewster has never turned out in a reserve match since he stopped playing. He did, as Dalneigh say's, turn out in bounce game against Clach recently. If the old memory serves correct Brew was told to have an operation, that didn't guarantee success, or stop playing competitive football or run the risk of more serious, disabling, damage. He chose to stop playing. As such, although he keeps himself fit enough he's probably a million miles away from being match fit so I'd say he'd be more a hindrance than an asset in a team.

Trialists (merged)
These are triallists. We haven't signed them and there's no indication that we will. They may prove to be an asset to our squad, they may not but I wouldn't judge any of them on their Latvian record. They could well be more suited to our style of game. Nobody will ever know unless they're given a chance.

First Time at the Ground
I'd suggest you come out of the station, walk down street opposite to Ramada hotel. Walk down left side of hotel to river. Look right you'll see a footbridge across river. Cross bridge and cross road. Hundred yards down street opposite is ICT social club. Doorman will sell you a bus ticket for ?2 which will get you to stadium and back to club. Cheap food and drink available in club.

Cowie interview in Courier
