  1. Good luck to both lads and the team tomorrow. Sadly I wont be able to watch. Got to go to a works function in a top Edinburgh hotel. Free accomodation and bar. Bummer really. :001:

that when the mountain woudn't come to Mohammed Ross Tokely flattened the bloody thing.
  3. Isnt it a bit like the Govan area. Drunks and junkies, derelict buildings and a big footie stadium :016:

We have the longest distance from pub to stadium of any cub in the world apart from some Arab nations
  5. We have ten midfielders available at the moment and all will be needed. We are playing more reserve games this season. We will have more midweek games in the latter part of the season to accomodate cup runs, weather and a shortened season in run up to Euro 08. Our younger players are also active in U-21/U-19 competitions. Ten or twelve isn't a lot in the broader sectrum of a football club

Barry Wilson scored the last British senior goal of the last millenium and the first of this one.
  7. Quote from last weeks HN: Brewster, meanwhile, told the HN that's he's been delighted with Wyness's strike partner, Romanian ace Marius Niculae and he reckons he's soon be hitting the goal trail for the Highlanders. He said: "It's just not happening for Marius at the moment and that was summed up on Saturday by the shot that was cleared off the line in the first half. Sometimes when strikers don't score early at their new club, there's a weight, or expectancy, put on their shoulders. "He's been working hard for the team and eventually the goals will come. I have told him to keep working hard and things will get better for him. If defenders and midfielders see strikers doing well, it gives them confidence too, and visa versa. That's how the team are working at the moment and long may it continue."

  9. There is an exemption in place in England, but as far as I am aware there is no exemption in place in Scotland. As I say we are buying a very experienced company to provide our security and I would be very surprised, as well as disappointed if they don't comply as necessary. LG. Para 33 refers to Scottish Office Guide. I'm sure they all know the law and will all comply. So if anyone wants to challenge then you may find yoursef with egg on your face. I'm just adding bits to show the gray areas, but I would expect that Rock Steady will either have trained staff or clarification on the exemption. They work at much bigger stadiums than ours.
  10. Just browsed through the SIA consultation document I think maybe the paragraphs below may exempt the stewards from licensing. 32. There are already a number of systems of regulating safety at sports grounds/events. These include Health and Safety legislation and regulations; legislation under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975 and the Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987; and the Licensing Act 2003. 33. The PSIA was not intended to regulate the roles associated with undertaking safety functions already covered by the legislation in the preceding paragraph, much of which is reflected in the DCMS/Scottish Office Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (?the Green Guide?) and guidance such as ?The Event Safety Guide3 and Managing Crowds Safely4 published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Instead, it is about ensuring that those people involved specifically in security duties are appropriately trained and vetted in proportion to the risk.
  11. Well it wasn't Dods :016:
  12. The designated sectorsthat require licensing are: Door Supervisor (in-house & contact), Security Guard (contractors), Cash & Valuables in Transit (contractors), Public Space Surveillance CCTV (contractors), Close Protection (contractors), Key Holders (contractors), Vehicle immobilising (England and Wales only) so what does crowd control come under?

Fraser Tokley McGuire Munro Hastings Proctor Kerr Wilson Black Rankin Wyness Six defenders should surely stop the lone hun striker
  14. Marius isn't good enough!! Marius isn't doing it!! Marius!! Marius!! The whole point is the team isn't doing it. We don't have two players who can gel together, who can read each other and who can make space for the other. We can't even pass a ball accurately. It takes eleven to make a team. Not one or two.
  15. I thought we played some good football in both halves but its the silly unnecessary mistakes that we need to address. We're losing on the very basics. If you have the ball keep it, play it. Dont give it back. Make the other team fight for it. If tactics are wrong then blame the manager. But most of the time its down to individuals who seem to panic when the ball comes near them. Maybe its confidence, maybe phsycological or are they just not good enough at this level. Time to stop the hero worshiping, discard the loyalties and kick some ***.
  16. There is quite a bit f cas to be made from it though. Mike Fraser is not totally to blame for his error last night. Why have our central defence suddenly become the kings of pass back. Both Caff and Munro seem frightened to get the ball let alone play it forward. They're reluctant to hod it for any length of time and are forever passing back. Defence must begin in attack but attack has to begin with the defence. Maybe its time to stop the loyalties and blood the youngsters.
  17. Are we talking this season or anytime in the future. If this season then ten teams have an equal chance of not winning it. Ifr any time in the future then probably Dornoch United.
  18. Me and missus.
  19. Lets not forget......Brookes Mileson bought an amatuer football team and, at the time, publicly stated that he would take that team to the SPL within five years by whatever means possible. He achieved that goal, though the pundits said he wouldn't, by puting SPL players into his third div team, and well done him for realising his goal. The problem now is that there is no more money to be spent. Mileson hasn't got it any more. His legacy will be a team that will likely end up back in the amatuer circuit but he will have shown that the goal he set was achievable.
  20. Courtesy of P&J online Don Cowie believes Caley Thistle are finally showing signs of a team that can survive in the SPL again - because Inverness have started winning when they do not play well. The Highlanders were easy 4-0 victors against Gretna at Fir Park on Saturday but only gave occasional glimpses of what they can do. After excelling in their recent successes against Hearts and Falkirk, Inverness did not match them at Motherwell. Caley Jags have now won four times and drawn once in their last six outings. Beating Gretna has left Craig Brewster's side six points clear of the league's bottom side and Cowie feels he and his team-mates can increase that gap. He said: "We don't feel we played that well against Gretna compared to how we have performed recently. We set a standard with a couple of good games and that is how we want to keep playing. "We didn't quite reach it at the weekend but when you win 4-0 away from home, you can't really complain. "I think it is a good sign. We were playing well and coming away with nothing earlier in the season whereas we are getting some good results now, even when we don't do as well as we would like. We are confident of staying up."

I think McGuire will be staying with us. One of the reasons we got him is because Dunfermline are struggling to pay the wages. A loan deal takes the pressure of them.

Caff is battling for his place and he'll get it.
  23. Unfortunately St Mirren have let us down by winning so its 10th spot and hope Aberdire beat Falkirk
  24. No No No. I need Gretna to score 1. Tenner at 50/1 1-4 result.

Ridgers isn't available. He's out on loan for the season. I would, however, say that we need both. With the number of reserve games we have we need three keepers. Personally I wouldn't say that Ike has regained his place. I think Brew will keep both on their toes by swapping from time to time.
