  1. To be fair the pitch was dreadful and the German gave nothing. But saying that we never strung three passes together and they anaged to pick the ball from our feet on more than one occassion. Roll on Hampden.
  2. Looks like the end of the dream :009:
  3. Bad bad first half but have we been shocked by their keeper wearing an ICT away top :003: Ref is giving nothing away so second half has to be all out attack. Mon Scotland, yer up agin an U-19 squad.
  4. Russia away to Israel coud be a hard one but England v Croatia will be even harder. England have a more difficult chance of qualifying now than we do.
  5. The line-u looks to be Gordon, Murty, Weir, McManus, Alexander, Maloney, Fletcher, Ferguson, Pearson, McFadden, Miller Murt called in cos Naismith failed fitness. C'mon ye Scots
  6. Not temporary as such. They can be dismantled but there is still a few thousand cube of concrete foundation below them. Originally the request was to install the sort of stand that is used at golf tournaments etc. Normally structured from scaffolding but this was refused. Ours is concrete, H beam steel and a bouncy decking.
  7. To be honest I agree with him in that statement. None of the teams between 4th and 12th have shown anything spectacular and they are probably all pretty equal at the minute, regardess of league standing. The true form will show after the second round of games.
  8. Not sure what you base your opening stateent on considering Georgia have only managed 1 home win in this competition and that was 3-1 against Faroes. They drew 1-1 with Ukraine at home and have amassed only 7 points in 10 games. Two wins against Faroes.
  9. Its ok Johndo, the aquifer has been taken into consideration. The plans are to build a super stand with recreational/fitness facilities underneath. The aquifer will be tapped to provide a spa type swimming pool. It will also provide the new bar with mineral water for your whisky. Oh! and unbeknown to Transco the gas line will be tapped to feed the new boiler.
  10. At the moment we are successful and have an excellent blend of youth and experience. We have 11 players with 10 or less caps, 4 with between 10 and 20 and 9 with over 20. It has taken a lot of building to get to this point and I dont think we shoud upset that. We have a squad that is playing for each other and the jersey and they are getting results. There will become vacancies in defence as guys like Weir, Alexander and Dailly drop out and maybe even Hartley in midfied will start to feel the pace and decide to retire but I think between now and World cup its going to take someone of exceptional quality to break into the current squad. As for Steven Naismith, I'm sure he'll get another crack but he'll need to fight his way to first team regular at Rangers first.
  11. The one who I think will make it to regular national first squad is Dale Gillespie. Just 18, he's a decent sized lad. He's catching eyes in national U-19 and will likely come through the U-21 stage. He has ambition, and hopefully drive, to play first team for ICT and his country and I reckon that within 5-7 years he'll have achieved both. Whether he's still at ICT by the end of that time, who know's.
  12. P&J TODAY Of the most recent crop of players to come through ICT who will be the next to wear the national first team shirt?
  13. They may not have lost to us but they've only won once in seven games.

  15. Scotland have competed at eight World Cup Finals, 1954, 1958, 1974, 1978, 1982, 1986, 1990 & 1998 and two European Championship finals, 1992 & 1996, but have never progressed beyond the first round of the tournament stage.
  16. Our desire to stand up makes no point to the stewards. They are there to carry out the instructions of the match commander who follows the rules of the SPL Continuous lobbying of the SPL is the only way the point will get across.
  17. Agree with the last post and sincerely hope the club read this article........especially that last paragraph.
  18. France dont have it easy. Their last two games against Lithuania then away to Ukraine. And I doubt if either of those will lie down for the french. I believe we have the passion and pride to go through as group winners.
  19. Alex MacLeod replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Watt went over his ankle in reserve game against hearts. He's expected to be fit for Aberdire. We see to have gone from having no defense to having too many now. Watt wasn't avaiable against Killie yet Caff was dropped.
  20. Sadly an online poll in Highland News is 67% in favour of sacking Richie.
  21. In fairness to Kingsmill Birdog I dont think this thread is an appropriate place to be publicising mind altering substances be they legal or not.
  22. CD, The Jaggies were founded in 1885 and Caley a year later. Although the merger happened in May 94 I think it was 95 before the two teams were legally wound down so, in effect, Thistle woud have been 110years old.
  23. I have made no assumtions CD. I said "I am sure"......not I assume.
  24. Richie Hart has admitted possession of a class A drug. His initial not guilty plea would have been advised by his solicitor to give time to collate all the evidence. Thats the way the Scottish system works. The solicitor has now advised Richie change his plea. Nobody on this site knows what was, or wasn't, said between the player and the club so nobody has the right to say anyone lied in any of this. The lad has made a big mistake and I'm sure he is feeling pretty remorseful at this time as he contemplates what the future holds but is it right that we keep kicking him while he's down. Are any of us so squeeky clean that we qualify to weild the whip? As for protecting the family/community image of the club does that mean we now weed out those who have extra-marital affairs, those who drive over the limit, those who speed or double park or get drunk and disorderly? Can we really choose what crimes against the law, society or morality we respond to and what we ignore? I dont know the answers but I do think that if a moral stand is being made then it should apply across the board.
