  1. To be fair after he gave the ball away every Hamilton player outsprinted our guys to support the breakaway. Carson jogged in 10 yards after his man while Harper was nowhere near his guy, the goalscorer. This was early in the 2nd half ffs! The pass was awful, but the aftermath was worse. Only one team willing to burst themselves for the cause.
  2. Decent first 25-30 dissipated into Hamilton ascendancy and hoofball.
  3. Strong team. Strong bench. Now is the time.
  4. All we have to do is forget its Hamilton and they are bottom of the league. Play our own game. Simple.
  5. Would it be too much to expect the club to make an effort with regards to drumming up some local support for this one? A 50/50 tie but a larger than usual home turnout would help immensely.
  6. That one took a while to flush...
  7. Didn't know Billy had those strikes in his locker.
  8. He scores when he wants.
  9. Robbie Deas on the bench today.
  10. You really think February 8th 2000 was the start of a decline... Forgive my short sightedness but I think I need that one explaining a wee bit.
  11. And guess who got Championship manager of the month...
  12. To be brutally honest, you have to win this league to get out of it, playoffs are just a sham in their current format. Aiming to reach the playoffs is just what most of the championship managers aspire to at the start if the season, which gives them some breathing space when they don't finish first. As it has even pointed out several times, the quality of this division has fallen over the last few years - teams are so closely matched and only the best resourced ones can strengthen when & where they need. At the same time the gulf between this division and the Premier has widened quite considerably, in my opinion.
  13. Should've taken the game away from them in the second half. Played much better with the changes made at halftime. Apart from the shaky first 20 minutes morton looked pretty toothless and only escaped with a point thanks to the generosity shown by our defenders. As the shine truly has come off Imrie I'm sure he'll be happier with the point than Dodds. Stolen point?
  14. Having grass and white lines on it can sometimes prove challenging enough.
  15. Deserve has nothing to do with it. I'd imagine QP fans are rightly seething at this incompetence from their club.
  16. Oh I miss taking the dogs for a walk at the football.
  17. Don't think Delaney showing a left footer inside was the smartest move in the book. After Hydes pass and slip he then chased back, crossing/overtaking Welsh like he was running in slo-mo. We still had a box full of defenders and surely pushing connolly onto his right side would have averted the danger. Lessons to be learned .
  18. Elgin put 2 past 'top flight' Ayr in 1966/67 cup. The last 'non league' team to do so.
  19. On balance of play this was probably a fair result and is a better indicator of where we are right now - a bit more resilient when under pressure and once again creating genuine chances which we might have taken on another day, Queens might feel the same about the chances. As the game developed it seemed that we went very direct whilst QP were able to keep the ball better and recycle possession - further highlighting the lack of quality in our squad depth. A few good performances from us today, and also a below par effort from the captain - looked sluggish a few times and had one or two howlers with his boot/ball interface. Quite an energetic match and both Welsh & Doran looked buggered midway through the 2nd half, fair play to Billy as he has consistently covered a lit of ground which can't be easy at his age. Defence worked hard and can all celebrate the clean sheet, despite some first half skinning Delaney finished the game well. Still missing Allardice/Mcgregor in the middle of the park, nothing is being created through the middle, everything is coming from out wide, which makes us quite predictable. Let's play them again next week to see if we can do it better.
