Our worst league finish in however many years is irrelevant as a couple points more and we were in the play offs with exactly the same 'brand' of hit or miss hoofball. The 20 year stat is a better headline grabber though. Can't really say the eye-watering losses are entirely down to mismanagement, sure things could have been done better, or some not at all, but trying to compete at this level with dwindling attendances plays a fundamental part in the overall situation. And the attendances were dropping before we were. Paying and praying? Maybe I'll just wring my hands & pray for a miracle, seems to be the trend.

Are we forgetting that the chair and ceo are only there at the behest of the board and shareholders...apart from some throwaway 'insider rumours' which rarely resemble accurate depiction of events, it seems those with real power & influence are content with the status quo.

If everyone was to adopt this attitude, then what you would be 'supporting from afar' would be even less of a team than they are currently, with cash flow drying up completely and debt burden increasing. Is this the path you wish to see us on? Just wondering like.

Really? Any chance of getting normal sizes back in stock if this is the case. Not everyone wears sizes beginning with XX ... Considerable loss of revenue with regards to the restocking not happening.

Thought Boyd had a decent run during the worst of our injury spree. Very keen on shots from outside the box, but not often on target. Career wise he's not known for his goals.

If he goes it will be to one of our championship competitors. Despite all the talk of how we had a title challenging team at the start of the season it speaks volumes that many of our out of contract players could easily be retained - I don't think any have generated serious interest from a higher level. A few will have seen what happened to MacAleer , Chalmers and pundit in training Scott Allan after successful spells with us. Grass is greener... On a positive note it may be worth tying up some of our younger players on 3 year deals as next year will be a definitive year for them and we don't want to be losing them for buttons.

Would've liked to see him going to a better club, but the step up from our level will be quite challenging. Plenty of defending to be getting on with at Rugby Park, another development step for sure.

Rangers odds...is it a sign?

If County can put any kind of sustained pressure on Partick from the start it will be interesting. We haven't seen too many examples from Doolans team when they aren't allowed to exploit their attacking strengths. If they can't get a result at home then they deserve to join us in the duffers division next year.

I just about remember the special 'dry' train for the initial 08/02/00 cup tie that was postponed. Lots of thin looking coke drunk that day. You might be aware that despite current regulations on all scotrail services prohibiting alcohol , most of these services, especially at weekends are absolutely rammed with carry-outs. Tough enforcement gig indeed.

I remember a fair few Inverness 'Huns' mixed in with us that day. Nothing much has changed then.
