  1. In my opinion the only reason David Wotherspoon is not playing in the (Scottish) Premiership this year is that he has lost a bit of pace and sharpness required at that level. It is clear he is still a very intelligent and classy football player. He was instrumental in dragging us out of the hole we were in (which hopefully we are not slowly sliding back into) and increasing the performance levels of other players around about him. Should the move to Dundee Utd materialise, he will almost undoubtedly be on higher wages, with a high probability of winning another medal and (I would imagine) closer to family and he will go with my best wishes! Hopefully we can uncover an unlikely gem to fill his boots in the second half of the season. I'd say prior to his arrival Keith Bray was our most promising player of the season....would like to see him getting more game time in the next few months. Looking at the table, can't help but feeling what an opportunity this season was/is to at least make the play-offs. Even despite our horrendous start to the season and our recent poor run of results, we are still not that far away from 4th position. I don't want to give up all hope of Highland Derby play-off final just yet!....
  2. Big 3 points today , and what a win for Morton
  3. Boyes 0 - 3 , according to BBC (can you trust?) , 4 shots, 4 on target, 3 goals............!!

  5. Yip Ferguson sent off again ....
  6. Today is the first league match I've missed this season. We have struggled in most games, in fact only Ayr at home, Arbroath, Dundee Utd and Queen's Park away have been enjoyable. Don't want to be too negative given Big Dunc is just in the door but I was really disappointed to hear that he was delighted with a point against Morton at home. Surely we should be striving for more. But yes our lack of goals (and clear cut chances) is very concerning.

  11. What has happened to Keith Bray? Doesn't seem to have featured at all since Big Dunc arrived....

  13. Tough for the fans to get down for a midweek game in December but let's hope as many as possible travel as the noise they made on Saturday was brilliant and no doubt spurred the players on
  14. Big Dunc's staying ten more years .... ...... We wish !!
  15. Imagine if in the summer someone had told you that the recipients of our three red cards before Christmas would be Billy Dodds, Harry Lodovica and Duncan Ferguson(!)..... I'd second bishbashbosh's comments re the travel club organisers and regulars. As a comparative newbie I travelled on the bus to Arbroath and Dunfermline this season and was made to feel very welcome and had two brilliant days out. Maybe they'll need another bus soon ....
  16. Not content to sit in the 'directors box' area as per the norm, Big Dunc took it upon himself to stand in the top tier along with a solitary steward who was probably sent up there to look after him (looked like from afar that they had some good banter together!). Once the game was out of sight he was enjoying conducting the chants from the really positive away support today - what a guy! The move for David Wotherspoon's goal was just sublime! There will be ups and downs of course but some of the passing football we are playing is a delight to watch and hopefully with more time will only get better ... A really enjoyable afternoon despite the weather. Credit to the young team who hardly stopped singing all afternoon long
  17. . Love how happy the guy in the green hoody is at the start of the video .

  19. Definitely looked like it from where I'm sitting too ! And I also thought Wallace clipped Easton at the penalty appeal after he got by him.... Hopefully we get a goal in the second half to warm us up

  22. I understand the thinking but for me a team of MacKay, Davidson, Duffy, Delaney, Hyde, Thompson, Bray, Welsh, Longstaff, Brooks and Sheridan should comfortably take care of Cowdenbeath and give these players some much needed game time. At least some are likely to be needed/called upon prior to the New Year as the fixtures come thick and fast and we inevitably pick up injuries etc.
  23. Danny Devine had a very impressive game today capped off by his nicely taken goal and potential goal-saving tackle early on. Even still, the standout performer today in my opinion was Max Anderson. He was constantly in and about the Dunfermline players robbing them of possession, frequently on the ball, never wasted a pass and drove us forward when he had the opportunity to do so. I thought it was an excellent all round performance from him and the partnership he has struck up with Charlie Gilmour has been instrumental in our possession based football in recent weeks which has been highly impressive, especially considering we could hardly string three passes together earlier this season. Losing a late goal was pretty gutting especially as I was looking forward to Big Dunc celebrating with the fans again but as others have said it's hard to argue that Dunfermline deserved at least a point today. I'm sure a lot of the fringe players will get a run out next week against Cowdenbeath and rightly so given we have been more or less reliant on the same starting 11 week after week so let's hope they have a well earned rest and are ready to go again against Raith in a couple of weeks.
  24. From my counting they actually hit the woodwork 6(!!) times! One shot hit one post before rolling along the line and then hit the other. Another shot hit the post , hit off one of our players and then hit back off the same post. And they hit the post on two other occasions before we went up the park and scored ..... Talk about daylight robbery .....
