  3. Before the transfer window we were in desperate need of a decent striker and an attacking/creative midfielder. Thankfully we seem to have ticked those boxes and brought in some other new faces who will hopefully strengthen other areas and provide more options. I'm positive about our prospects in the second half of the season and I still think we have a sneaky wee chance of coming 4th and making the playoffs..... Time will tell.
  4. He has been really impressive for us this season even during the tougher spells. I'm sure he will have ambitions to move up a level and deservedly so in my opinion but hopefully we can get him on an extended contract so that if he does leave at the end of the season we get properly compensated.
  5. The tannoy/sound system operating at in the north stand at Caley stadium is terrible. It is absolutely deafening too. I take my ear plugs which makes it just about bearable... Why oh why does it have to be so loud?... It certainly doesn't help to create an atmosphere. Indeed it drowns out any attempts by the fans to create an atmosphere pre match which the youngsters attempted to do at the Dundee Utd game recently. The guy who sits beside me has been season ticket holder for years and said he's complained to the club about it but to no avail. Maybe something the supporters trust could take forward if there is a general agreement.
  6. Thanks Robert , that explains it then.... !
  7. Thanks for adding.... What a pass that was for Samuel's first goal...not sure who played it but clearly someone with a sweet left foot! Great victory and second what Lizi said about the difference in atmosphere between home and away games.
  8. YASSSSS!!!! Hope Big Dunc was giving it big fist pumps at the end .... We are heading for the Premiership playoffs On a serious note though I'm just so happy we didn't concede a last minute sickener AGAIN!!
  9. HT: 0 - 1 FT: 0 - 2 1st Scorer ICT: Alex Samuel 1st Scorer RR: Vaughan Crowd: 3,268 I'm thinking if we play with 5 central defenders and four right backs (with another couple on the bench just incase) we should at least keep a clean sheet tomorrow ......
  10. Thanks Robert they have added season ticket holder's reserved seats to the online portal now
  11. Communication from the club that tickets now available to season ticket holders but on the ticketing site only match available to buy tickets for is QP.
  12. I'd say that's us just about covered now as far as defensive options are concerned .... Here's hoping for a creative midfield genius and a well-established consistently prolific goalscorer in the next few days!
  13. May be in the minority here but as someone who enjoys watching slick passing football rather than kick and rush/lump it forward and hope for the best/hoof ball, I have actually been encouraged by the style of play Big Dunc has been trying to implement since his arrival. Yes it hasn't and won't work at times against certain opposition (and we need to have more than one card up our sleeve) and we are still shot shy and looking for the killer pass too often, but it's early days. I think it will be next season (with own group of players) before we truly see how effective this can be and whether or not it will bring us 'success'. Keep the faith, we are a work in progress and we need to give him a proper chance! When I think of some of the other managers who were touted for the job, I'm still thankful for the willingness to think a little bit out the box and try something new..... Sadly I've found at home games there seems to be a lot of negativity whereas at away games the fans really back and encourage the team until the end. Maybe it's just the people I'm sitting next to

  15. Possibly the small fee that they were going to give to us for Sean Welsh before we let him go for nothing
  16. I'm afraid to say I think this is coincidental rather than causal. With or without Billy McKay on the park, when we have a slender lead or drawing, we drop deeper and deeper as the second half progresses inviting the opposition to come onto us and, more often that not, score a late winner. Billy McKay usually looks pretty spent by 60 odd minutes which is fair enough given his advancing years combined with him being asked to cover more ground than ever, dropping back to fit in with our current style of play. The problem for me stems not from substituting Billy itself, but from having a complete dearth of adequate replacements for him. Despite their height and presence, neither Lodovica or Sheridan have looked capable of holding the ball up and fulfilling the 'target man' role never mind threatening to score a goal. Whilst I still think Adam Brooks has the potential to be a regular goalscorer at Championship level - good goal towards the end at Cappielow - he ain't going to do that as a lone striker within our current set-up and no doubt needs more experience. It's clear that our lack of creativity in the final third, cutting edge and shots on goal is our most pressing issue to be addressed right now. I don't think we as fans will be the only ones who recognise that. The question for me is not whether Duncan Ferguson will be trying to strengthen his attacking options in this transfer window, but whether the current budget will enable him to bring in one or two players who are available, willing to relocate to the Highlands and **crucially** are better than what we already have. Having attended the vast majority of games this season, I am still confident we have enough quality within the current squad of players to keep us in the division. I also think if we can (somehow!) bring in a proven goalscorer or two - and see more of Bray, Doran and MacGregor - we can still challenge for fourth place. I know some will think that's deluded but we have actually played some really decent football at times this season (often away from home) and matched the best teams in the league....at least for the first 85 minutes!!
  17. Take on board your reply but I respectfully disagree. I don't think gifting one of our better players to one of our relegation rivals was sensible from either a football or business perspective...today being a case in point....
  18. Sean Welsh fires QP ahead at Raith
  19. I'd rather Partick and Raith win...
  20. From BBC website: 'Arbroath’s injury situation has been well documented and it hasn't been helped with new signing Zak Delaney, the defender on loan from Caley Thistle, being replaced just 12 minutes into his debut after picking up a knock.' A Loan??!
  21. Yeah also can't understand why didn't hold out for even a small fee given he was still under contract until the summer
  22. Sorry Gringo, couple of changes to my prediction following Sean Welsh's departure.... he was my first scorer HT: 0 - 2 FT: 1 - 3 1st Scorer ICT: Longstaff 1st Scorer DU: Alex Greive Crowd: 2376
  23. Another central defender on loan is strange unless we are shipping at least one out as, in my opinion, we already have sufficient cover in that area. Hopefully we are not going to lose Boyes or Ujdur? Creative midfielders and proven goalscorers please Dunc!
