CaleyJags sign 9 stars of tomorrow

Teaser Paragraph:
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have made an important piece of club history by signing nine players for their new SPL under-19 team for next season.
This is the largest full-time recruitment the club has ever made at one time from their age group sides -- and five of the players first joined Caley Jags in their under-10s team!
Seven of the new signings are from the Highlands, with four from Inverness , while the outsider is highly rated 17 year old striker Calum Dingwall, who has been two and a half years at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium since signing from Lewis United Boys Club.
The youngest new recruit is 15-year-old Inverness midfielder Liam Polworth, son of Clach manager Iain Polworth, a former Aberdeen and Caley player. Liam was capped for Scotland at under16-level last season.
There are three 16 year olds -- striker Kyle White from Nairn, defender Jack Sutherland from Drumnadrochit and midfielder Martin Laing from Inverness.
Goalkeeper Robbie Donaldson from Carrbridge is joined by two 17 year old Inverness starlets, striker Adam MacLeod and midfielder Andrew Greig plus defender Tom Smith, from Dornoch, who is also 17.
When the club was relegated, it became outwith the SPL Under-19 League but winning the First Division has re-opened that door for bright youngsters. Manager Terry Butcher has appointed former Celtic, Caley, Clach and Nairn County player Scott Kellacher as the new Under-19 team coach.
Butcher said:"I've seen many of these lads play in reserve and age group matches and it's clear there is genuine quality in this group, who have benefited from excellent coaching. The fact that it is Highland-dominated is extremely encouraging and very much in line with the club's long-term strategy of bringing the cream of local talent through to the first team.
"Maurice Malpas and I will be keeping tabs on these lads in action at SPL youth level and there may be the opportunity of a first team runout at some stage of the season." Charlie Christie , head of youth development, said:"It's a massive boost to the youth development department as it shows all our young players that there is a great opportunity to them if they work hard enough. We have a total of 130 lads from the ages of 8 to 17 working regularly with our team of age group coaches."
"It is hugely pleasing for me personally as I took seven of these youngsters to the club -- six of them have been with us from the ages of eight and nine. So for them now to sign full-time contracts as SPL Under 19 players underlines that our system is working well -- and that the genuine talent is here in the North.
"The timing is perfect as these lads have developed just in time for our return to the SPL Under-19 league. Now they have the target of following Grant Munro, a local boy who came to this club at 14 years of age and who is now club captain. I would dearly love to see two or three from this group emulating Grant's rise. The chance is now there for them."
Club chairman George Fraser said:"We are very much a club with strong community roots and that is reflected in our significant investment in, and commitment to, youth development. All those associated with our various age group teams -- and their parents and families -- can feel satisfaction that these signings show the route to the first team is now more clearly established than ever."
The club's youth development coaches are Charlie Christie, Fiona McWilliams, Ronnie Duncan, Craig Masterton, Jake Inglis, Calum MacAulay, Duncan Shearer, Martin Bell, Graeme MacDonald, Tommy Wilson, Gary Munro, Chris Macrae, Ian McArthur, Neil Fraser, Alan Cuthbert and Darren Urquhart.

Keeper Ryan signs new deal

Teaser Paragraph:
Caley Thistle's goalmouth is in safe hands for the SPL campaign after Ryan Esson signed a new two year contract today.
The 30-year-old keeper will thus return to the SPL 10 years after making the first of his 89 appearances for Aberdeen.
Ryan, who made 45 appearances for Caley Jags last term, said:"I'm pleased everything is settled. It was always my first choice to stay at the club."
Manager Terry Butcher said:"It is encouraging that Ryan has committed himself to us. He was outstandingly consistent last season and his experience will serve us well in the top flight. We are still looking to add another keeper to the squad, replacing Kyle Allison, who was released."
Esson played for Scotland at youth and under 21 level and was unused substitute for the senior international team against the USA five years ago. He played at Shrewsbury and Hereford after leaving Pittodrie and joined Caley Jags in July 2008.

Boost for Butcher as two more players re-sign
Caley Thistle seasoned campaigners Stuart Golabek and Roy McBain have agreed new one year deals with the club which will make their vast experience available for the return to the SPL.
The pair, both 36 and with over 500 appearances between them for Caley Jags, have put pen to paper on new contracts after discussions with manager Terry Butcher.
"I'm very pleased that these two polished performers have signed up for the next part of the club's journey", said Butcher."Stuart and Roy are excellent professionals whose poise and know-how will be of great value to what is a young squad. Their commitment is a further boost to my  Premier Division planning."
Invernessian Golabek  first signed for the club in 1999 and was in the side which scored that epic Scottish Cup win at Celtic in February 2000 and in the one which won the Bells Challenge Cup in 2003. The left back was made team captain in 2004 and won First Division medals that year and again last month.
He rejoined Caley Jags late last August from Ross County and has shown he still has much to contribute. Stuart has made 213 appearances for the club,
Aberdonian Roy McBain also boasts two First Division medals. He played for Dundee United, Dundee and Ross County before joining Caley Jags in 2000, for whom he has chalked up 323 outings. This is his testimonial year.

Season Ticket Prices 2010-11

Teaser Paragraph:
Caley Jags fans get loyalty bonus
Caley Thistle are refusing to cash in on their return to the SPL, and are offering a 10 per cent discount to all season ticket holders who stayed loyal during their season in the First Division.
The club is expanding its 'grow our future market' strategy by increasing free season tickets for children aged under eight to under 12.
Chairman George Fraser revealed:"There may have been the temptation to cash in on our revenue stream now we're back in the top flight. We're in a challenging economic environment for supporters as well as football clubs.
"A year ago we promised fans who stuck with us a discount if we got back to the SPL, and we're honoring that by giving them 10 per cent off if they renew by June 30. Now that Rangers, Celtic and the rest will be returning to Inverness , it makes it a colossal bargain.
"But we'd rather have bigger support by offering below the average SPL price levels than charge more and deter fans."
Mr Fraser added:"We're also modernising the way we sell tickets, with sales via the Ticketmaster agency online or the club hotline. When sales open on Friday, the only people who need to come to the stadium are those who wish to spread payments, alternatively they can download their form and return by post, as they need to sign a direct debit form for a no-deposit deal of ten monthly payments. It's a smoother way to do things, makes it much easier for fans who live further afield or who cannot come to the stadium during their working week."
Season ticket holders who do not renew by June 30 will have their seats released for general sale. To buy or renew, fans can go online to www.mfr.co.uk or call the club hotline on 0844 847 1888.
Commercial manager Darren MacKintosh said that extending the free kids tickets to under 12s is a key part of the club's ongoing commitment to the future fans. "We're encouraging youngsters to get involved early, and underlining our message that we're a family-friendly club. These seats will be available in the Family Section and are for two children per paying adult, which has been warmly welcomed by mums and dads."
UPDATE - Please note any existing season ticket holders wishing to relocate their seats within the stadium cannot do this online or via the ICTFC Hotline. We can offer this relocation service Wednesday to Friday by coming to the Stadium Shop. Alternatively any existing season ticket allocations not taken up by 30th June will be released (for a period of 3 days) to current season ticket holders wishing to relocate should the opportunity arise by a similar system as detailed above prior to going on general sale.

New Shirt Sponsor - Orion

Teaser Paragraph:
Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC keep the positive news flowing with todays announcement that they have agreed a 2 year deal with new shirt sponsor Orion Group who now replace Flybe who had been the club main sponsor for the past 3 years.
Alan Savage of the Inverness based Orion Group will be no stranger to many Caley Thistle fans...being a fan himself and having spent time as Chairman of the club whilst investing around £270,000 in share capital in recent years.
With such a tough economic climate still hanging over us in the UK, news of a new sponsor will be very much welcomed ahead of the Caley Jags return to the SPL.  Terry Buthers squad overturned a 15 point deficit to secure the SFL Division One title in remarkable fashion to finish with a 12 point cushion over closest rivals Dundee.
A statement on the Orion Group Website reads....
Alan commented: “Inverness Caledonian Thistle has played an important role in putting the city on the UK map and is a vital pillar of the community. As a business which has its roots firmly in the Highland capital we wanted to show our support for the club and players in what looks set to be a fantastic season.
Along with the Caledonian Thistle fans and the Inverness and Highlands business community we are excited about seeing the club make a return to the SPL.”
Club chairman George Fraser said: "This is exciting news which will be warmly welcomed by our fans. Orion Group is, like ourselves, a Highland success story and they have a long connection of assisting this club. Orion founder and chairman Alan Savage is a former Caley Thistle chairman and we're delighted that he has agreed an arrangement which will see our players wear the Orion name and logo on their shirts.
The two year deal gives us very welcome continuity and financial stability following the expiry of our deal with FlyBe. Our directors are putting together a budget for the SPL and Orion Group’s input is very significant and beneficial. We anticipate the connection strengthening on various fronts."
Orion Group sponsors a number of sports projects in the Highlands including; The Inverness Primary Football League and the Highland Rugby Club.
The sponsorship deal is an important part of Orion’s Community Vision programme which sees the company support a number of charities and organisations within the Highlands, including Highland Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Double Signing Delight

Teaser Paragraph:
Fans will be grinning from ear to ear this evening as news breaks that Jonny Hayes and Danni Sanchez put pen to paper and extend their stay at Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C.
Hayes & Sanchez sign new deals
Irish eyes were smiling today as midfielder Johnny Hayes signed a new two-year contract with the club -- despite offers from England.
The 22-year-old Dubliner's decision to commit his future to Caley Thistle will be warmly welcomed by the fans. Danni Sanchez will also be at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium next season as the 24 year old Spaniard has put pen to paper on a one-year contract.
Hayes joined Caley Jags last July after having made seven first team appearances for Leicester City and 11 apiece for MK Dons and Northampton Town. He has three Republic of Ireland under-21 caps.
Sanchez, 25, also signed last July after scoring as a trialist in a friendly against Dundee United.
Manager Terry Butcher said:"I'm extremely pleased to add Johnny and Danni to our squad as we prepare for the SPL. These two lads have earned the right to play at the top level. The pieces are falling into place on the re-signing front and I hope to have more good news by the weekend."
Chairman George Fraser said:"A number of other clubs south of the border were keen on Johnny Hayes and it's a tonic that he has shown commitment to the club. As a fans' favourite, our supporters will be relieved that he's staying. Dani Sanchez, too, has worked very hard in his first season in Scotland and it's encouraging to see him agree a deal."
