New Chairman Wanted, Apply Within

Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.
Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”
Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.
“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.
“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”

Player of the Year 2023-2024

The winner for this season voted for by you is our very own local player Cameron Harper. Will that ever happen again I wonder?
Cameron has had a steady season picking up points throughout only winning it by a large amount of votes in May right down to the last game.  He had 43 appearances this season scoring 3 goals against Arbroath, Queens Park and Morton picking up two yellow cards in the season, a good all round player.
Where will he be next season we don't know?  I would like him to sign on again but think he will move on and deserves a chance to prove himself at a higher level.

Kelty Hearts Training Statement

What a farce we have become

Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.
“As one major part of our planned strategic restructure of the club, ICTFC are delighted to announce an innovative agreement with League 1 side Kelty Hearts which will see the club move our training base to the Fife club’s New Central Park Stadium. This creative partnership will mean that we will hire their excellent facilities which include a 3g pitch, onsite grass pitches and offices for our coaching staff, as our training base during the week starting from this coming pre-season in June. FULL STATEMENT
Once again nobody has listened to the fans, nobody has yet resigned and at this rate nobody will be attending games at the Caledonian Stadium. Do these people take us for fools. Well, obviously the answer is yes.
From CTO
"I think this has wound me up even more than getting relegated, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. What makes us ICT now? Where's the link to being a community club and getting a better relationship back with the supporters. So now we are a central belt team that visits Inverness to play. Absolute madness!! "Whilst I see an element of sense about this (there are other teams who have similar set ups), I feel for the youth players, who grow up in Inverness and the area and now have to figure out how to travel to Fife for training. "I am struggling to actually compute this, it's simply crazy. But highlights perfectly why change is needed at the top of this club. Think I'll be watching Clach next season. "This is not a result of relegation, it must have been planned for some time. What message does it send to local youngsters, who we should be developing to be our future first team players? Another sad day.
"Clach will be looking forward to selling a lot more tickets. Lowest crowds ever at the Caledonian Stadium next season. The beginning of the end.
"TBH I think that's me decided - I'll not be renewing my ticket for next season! They've killed the club!
"If we move the entire club to Glasgow we might not get relegated ever again. Doesn't mean we should do it. Some things should simply be off the table. The literal point of a football club is to provide a focus for the community it resides in. "This cannot be allowed to happen.  Time to empty the club of these clowns and start again.  If that means part-time in the Highland League then so be it. Sack the board.
"Over the last couple of weeks, my favourite expletive seems to have become the word 'Horsesh*t" and this falls into the biggest pile of it I have seen. ever.
How do we get enough people or voting percentage together to force an EGM?
This cannot be allowed to happen. It will kill the club completely. Supporters Trust?
I thought Gardiner could not top his previous debacles .. Pixellot, the Concert, alienating staff, players and supporters, not to mention relegation but deary me, I underestimated the man. This puts a cherry on top of the whole bloody lot, a really huge bloody cherry!
"I still can't believe what I have just read from the chairman. Is he living in different world from the rest of us? I have been a season ticket holder for many years but if this farcical situation is allowed to go ahead then I will definitely not be renewing

This could be an interesting meeting. If you have not already done so, pay your fiver and support the Trust.  Given the significant concerns voiced by fans about relegation and events within the club, the Supporters Trust is holding a Fans Meeting at 7pm on Tuesday 4 June at the Caley Club.
All fans are welcome to attend the meeting, where members of the Supporters Trust Board will lead a discussion on the serious issues facing the club, update on recent activity by the Trust and hear your views on steps the Trust can take at this time.
The image contains details of the meeting, including QR codes where you can register to attend the meeting (this is optional), join the Supporters Trust, or make a donation to our Stronger Together initiative.

Relegation Statement

RELEGATION STATEMENT

After three days of media silence, Chairman Ross Morrison has released this statement on behalf of Inverness Caledonian Thistle. "We cannot thank our fans enough for the fantastic support they have given the team, both at home and away, through-out the season. Your commitment to the Club is an inspiration and one of the foundations that will support us going forward".
Read the full statement HERE
"We have been working for a number of weeks on a comprehensive restructuring plan for what we believe is the best way forward for ICTFC, details of which will be announced in the next few days, but following last night’s Board Meeting, I can confirm that the club will remain full-time next season and I thank everyone in advance for showing some patience as we make sure that plan is finalised".

Key Points from initial Statement (only 3 days late)
Club to remain full time Focus on long term stability More news to follow. (this must be the tip of the iceberg!)

So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better.

Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)

Uncomfortably Numb

Shambolic Inverness have hit their darkest day since their formation in 1994 after being relegated to League one by virtue of being humiliated and embarrassed by Hamilton Accies at the Caledonian Stadium. Yes, you read that right, embarrassed by Hamilton Accies. It had been predicted for months that this was the poorest side that Inverness have fielded since the early days. Nobody listened, especially the board and the blame lies squarely with them. Duncan Ferguson is not blameless in this saga, his style of play and lack of knowledge of the lower reaches of the Scottish game have been there for all to see. Loan deals no better than what we already discarded, and players with no heart for the battle. Players played out of position, strikers that can't strike, defenders that can't defend and a lack of leadership on and off the the park is the perfect recipe for relegation. And so it happened, not a surprise, but still sickening given our financial plight. I'm not sure many regular fans still have the energy to get behind this regime. We are all looking for wholesale changes, but will it happen. If they have any decency then they will walk tonight, turn off the lights and lock the door behind them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.
A lovely day ruined by a game of football!
FULL TIME 2-3
ACCIES PROMOTED 5-3 on aggregate. Good luck to them.
Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
Comfortably Numb
Pink Floyd wrote this song about the club we have followed since it's inception in August 1994. The first two verses (Hello & Come on Now) are about the fans speaking to the club and getting no replies, then asking through the Trust if everything is OK. Relax is the board questioning the fans about the hurt that has been caused by mis-management and not listening to our views and then replying and stating our insignificance. OK & Stand Up are the solutions to our problems. The final verse in bold is about the board ignoring the warning signs and that is why we are on the verge of disappearing into the abyss.
Hello
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home?
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
Well, I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
I have become comfortably numb
O.K.
Just a little pin prick
There'll be no more ah!
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on, it's time to go
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone......
We have become comfortably numb 😢 💀 👀
Listen for yourself, it's all in here>>>
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb: a state of severe alienation and burnout. When the pressures of life and the evils, insanity and corruption of the outside world are too much and you build a mental wall and you shut yourself out from everything and everyone. You just want to retreat by watching TV or listening to music a LOT to take you from your inner pain but your attention span is so minimized you may wind up on the couch looking up at the ceiling and constantly changing TV channels with the remote. Certain scenes or sounds may bring up painful emotions and make you cry. (urban dictionary)
A bit about the game: We lost 2-1 at New Douglas Park on Wednesday night. An incredibly inventive goal from Kevin O'Hara or a comedy of errors from an Inverness point of view saw us go one down in the sixth minute. Another dubious goal saw us two down with Ridgers claiming he was being impeded. We could have lost a third in that first half horror show had Graham Grainger spotted Wallace Duffy blocking a shot with his arm. Enter Samson Lawal and suddenly things began to look better, and even more better when Aribim Pepple scored with his first touch after 68 minutes. Game on and all to play for on Saturday as we start the game one goal down. Danny Devine won't take part after rolling his ankle on the halfway line. All are in agreement that Lawal and Pepple should play a bigger part, but will anyone listen to us. I won't hold my breath. It's our final game of this season, win or lose. It could be a defining game in the history of this club. What on earth have we become...
Less of this>>>
Off the post, off the head of Ridgers and into the back of the net! Hamilton take the lead! pic.twitter.com/WY6JtjdaCh
And more of this>>>
Here's Dunc pre-match>>>
Danny Devine out, Sean McAllister out returned to Everton broken.
The rest: As you were no doubt with Savage replacing Devine.
Can we take advantage of Accies having been on the grass all season
Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
Hanging on
Hamilton Accies hosted Inverness at New Douglas Park, the scene of the shoes-off protest a few years ago when we last tried to oust a failed manager. This time it's the Inverness board and Manager Duncan Ferguson who are under pressure to deliver. Sean McAllister was out but Charlie Gilmour started. Kevin O'Hara will be the main target man for the hosts and Euan Henderson likes a goal or two as well, with Lewis Smith an able provider. Accies were a bit of a bogey team for us at times and should consider themselves favourites for promotion against a team not noted for creativity, passion or scoring goals. It was on the Telly, and here's how it went.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The weather was perfect, unfortunately it's still an artificial surface for this first leg encounter at NDP and it was Inverness that got the game underway. It didn't take long for Accies to get their noses in front after we gave the ball away seconds after pinching it off Hamilton. O'Hara looked up some forty-yards from goal, spotted Ridgers ten yards off his line and floated the ball over him. The keeper back pedalled, the ball hit the post, bounced out, hit Ridgers on the back then bounced into the net. Poor goal to concede, but not uncommon for us at the moment.
Billy Mckay was denied by the keeper as he headed goalwards but he could not get enough power on the header and Lyness gathered easily. Max Anderson brought out a save from keeper Lyness as we looked to get back on level terms fifteen minutes in and Accies broke down the left before Euan Henderson curled his shot over the bar. Charlie Gilmour went to ground twice within ten seconds inside the home box but nothing doing. After giving away a needless corner, Fergus Owens heads onto the bar and follows up to head the rebound behind Ridgers who was claiming he was being impeded yet still had four defenders on the line.

Absolute horror show from us so far with Hamilton looking like scoring everytime they go forward. Accies were denied a penalty when Wallace Duffy charged down a shot from Ben Williamson on the edge of the box. Looked clear cut for everyone watching except for Graham Grainger who was only five yards from the incident. What an omnishambles of a first half from the visitors who gave the ball away countless times and lacked any penetration. Accies fully deserve the advantage at the break.
HALF TIME: 2-0
Duffy and Gilmour were hooked at the interval with James Carragher and Samson Lawal replacing them. It almost paid off with Carragher heading just over from a Cammy Harper corner two minutes after the restart. Following an Accies corner, time stood still before we hoofed clear as the ball bounced awfully close to our goal line. Henderson got his shot away outside the box but we managed to block it at the expense of a corner. Morgan Boyes wasted a great chance from another corner as he half volleyed high over the bar from ten yards. Half an hour left in this one and we still look clueless and wasteful. Within a minute of coming on, Aribim Pepple drilled a cut-back from Harper low into the net from eight yards to give the away fans something to cheer. Inspired substitution and what a first touch.
Since the substitutions, Inverness were more dominant as they pushed Accies onto the back foot. Pepple spun in the box and got his shot away from 12 yards but Lyness was able to smother the low shot which was too close to him. With five minutes left Danny Devine looked like he rolled his ankle trying to clear the ball. Always a worry on these pitches, With Ferguson having used all his subs Devine limped back on for the final few moments, but looks likely to miss the return leg.  FULL TIME 2-1
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.
Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

The Messiah speaks>>> Devine will miss return leg. 90 minutes to get one goal.
