Europa Cup Final

Fulham are through to the final and Liverpool have gone to extra time - an all English affair is still possible....

Always think away goals in extra time in a two legged cup competion is an unfair advantage and away goals should only count in the 90 minutes....

just swung in Liverpools favour. Benayoun scored in ET

Not anymore. Forlan just scored :)

swung completely in atletico's favour now. 2-2. Diego Forlan 102nd minute. Atletico leading on away goals

Bookings are starting to mount now - 8 - might see a red also....

The dreaded extra time away goal might do it again.... :)

it did indeed, Liverpool out. Fulham v Atletico final

Come on Fulham!!! Well done to Roy Hodgson. Taken them from the brink of relegation to a European Cup final. Outstanding. :)

Gutted about Liverpool but I must admit, they didn't really deserve to go through. Will say well done to Fulham and hope they win it.

Ad be happy to see Fulham win it. They have done brilliant to reach the final.

Hodgson for Prime Minister....

That has to be the best managerial achievement since.... well... Butcher got us promoted back to the SPL!!

... but seriously he inherited a very average decaying Fulham squad and by signing a group of players that were all bench warmers at their previous clubs he's got them playing some excellent football and taking on Europe's elite. I was glad to see Liverpool out because I think they would have beat Fulham in the final but I think it's fair game now Athletico are through.

For Schwarzer, Greening and Murphy this will be their second european finals although Greening never made the pitch in the 1999 final or any of the previous games in the competition that season (but he did pick up a medal)....

Interestingly this will be Murphy's opportunity to pick up a 7th cup winners meadal in his career (if you include the Charity Shield and Super Cup in 2001)....and if I a recall correctly he has won each final he has played in to date....not a bad record at all....

This will be Schwarzer's 5th final but he has not been so successful as Murphy with only one winners medal to date....
