Partick/Ayr

Ian McCall all set for the Partick job(again). This is likely a move that should weaken Ayr as competition but make next Saturdays game with Partick a tougher gig. Why do guys like to take these jobs that are so risky. Look at Ray McKinnon moving from Morton to Falkirk as an example.

It's all to do with the money with Ian McCall going to Partick a full time side that still seems to have a bit of money at present although the Lottery winner has withdrawn his support.  If we keep playing as we have started the season we have no reason to fear Partick although McCall will have them well fired up.

If you believe the parting comments of Gary Caldwell we should be fearful of Partick on Saturday, after all I'm sure he said that he set the foundations for the club but then again he was sacked so ......................

It'll take McCall a while to establish himself and make a mark on that squad, Ayr will suffer but the loss of so many of their big players in the summer surely had a bearing on his decision to leave.
