is our pitch too big for our style of play

Featured Replies

In the lower division against weaker teams it was an advantage as we were used to the big wide pitch and we could take teams apart by using it for our own gain. Now in the SPL the teams are better and are more adpated so can play us at our own game on our own wide pitch. Maybe that is the reason for our poor home form?

Maybe what you need is a 5aside size pitch.

discuss.... or dismiss. upto you

absoloutley spot on.. I've been saying this for a while now!

We play better when we are forced into it. We don't have enough creative players to utilise the extra space and this lets other teams take the initiative.

the stands are so far away from th pitch that if they make it any smaller well need feckin binoculars to watch the game

I remember when Bobby Mann was with us, the pitch sometimes wasn't tall enough for his style of play: Occasionally, as Bobby hoofed the ball up the park again, it would simply disappear through the stratosphere, never to return.

Don't go there, these were calles precision passes.

Back to the origin.........maybe we do lack the extra creativity to break down defences when on our own pitch, however, we should learn to turn it to our advantage and make it a ground for other teams to dislike.

...maybe he just put a little too much into that long diagonal ball...
