Flood gates open for Divers?

In the Dundee United game against Aberdeen today defender  Flood, on loan to D/U from Cardiff City, earned a first booking for a high challenge on Lee Miller then was sent off for a DIVE following a challenge from Jackie McNamara..

Does this mean that the flood gates are about to open on Divers ?

I'd like to see divers more harshly punished.  It is clearly a dive and the referee knows it's a dive then why not send him off?  Some players spend more time on the ground than man pretending to be a manatee in a game of cherades.

the first booking was a joke. he fell over whilst sprinting and the aberdeen guy just tripped over him, god knows where the high feet bit came from. second booking did look like a dive to be honest. if only the referee showed some consistency though and treated lee miller the same way who made numerous dives and fell on his arse about 15 times. sooner diving is eradicated the better.

no real complaints though :crazy07:

It's going to be interesting in a few months if the 'trial by tv' program is successful, with players picking up cards after the match officials have viewed the tv footage (more cameras at OF games?). Apparently if the ref thinks he made a bad decision he can change decisions and give disciplinary points to divers, etc. :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03:
