  1. Is it just me or does it just look like clubs can do whatever the f**k they want, run up debts, pay what they cannot afford, not pay staff, carry on signing whoever they feel like it, field ineligible players, etc, etc, etc. and nobody gives a bl0ody toss. The only time any of the authorities seem to jump into action is if anyone dares question any of this. It's a f**kin' scandal.

  4. Trouble is, it's all through a media lens. I'm not sure exactly how good a job a person does based on their remit. For instance, I believe Doncaster was there to obtain as much money for the SPL as possible. That obviously means getting Rangers on board. The sporting integrity bit was down to the clubs and the SFA. So, was Doncaster actually being criticised for something not in his contract, i.e. fairness and 3rd Division, rather than finances and 1st Division as he put the case for? I also don't think it was his job to detail the sharing of the cash. So, if he gets the TV deals, then Celtic take it all, leaving other clubs with beans, is that his fault if other clubs then crash? Just to emphasise, I'm not saying Doncaster has done a good job. But is his remit finance, marketing or fair play? I don't think I have enough facts for a judgement. Possibly, a spokesman is needed to sell our game more (an Ally McCoist/Gordon Strachan-media friendly larger-than-life optimist). After all, last season was the most exciting in years. Then let the moneymen take a backseat, getting deals based on that media presence. At the moment, I don't find PR taken seriously at all.

  5. Expectation? Top Six ........ but as IHE noted, there are several 'SMART' goals to be achieved. Winning the SPL is a 'pipedream' so not one of the 'smart' goals. 1. Avoid relegation (for obvious reasons) 2. Finish above County (shadows and all that) 3. Top Six (better gates for last 5 games) 4. Good run in SFA and/or League Cup (potential UEFA qualification and additional non-budgeted money in coffers) 5. Top 3 (European qualification - the logical next step in ICT's development) 6. Top 2 (mucho dinero as league payment + European qualification) If we can achieve the first 3 I will be reasonably happy. 1-4 would be very good, and if we get to 5 or 6 then Terry has to get the keys to the city !

  8. Theres the Antigallican on Woolwich Road (very close to the Valley), not the best pub but a lot of away go there as its the first place you stumble across from Charlton train station. Personally Id recommend The Rose of Denmark a bit further down Woolwich road, has that proper football pub kind of atmosphere, and it welcomes away fans. Ill be at the Rose so it would be great to meet some of you in there, dont worry us Charlton fans are a friendly lot! There is alcohol served inside the ground but youre only allowed to drink it inside the concourses, and necking a couple of beers in 15mins isnt the best way to enjoy a bevvy... We are staying in the Antigallican on the Saturday night. Hope the locals keep the noise down, you know how I need my early nights.
