  1. Hope y'all remember that when we have a few bad results at some point. It's football - it WILL happen! But we're footie fans so we've to take the rough with the smooth. And I'd rather be an ICT supporter, even when we're on a poor run, than an old firm or c*unty supporter. MON THE JAGS!!!
  2. Don't mind him... he's mad. We've got lumps of it round the back!
  3. I'm not getting the arrogance comments. Look at the way the rest of the team react to him, like he's just one of the boys. I doubt he'd be there if he was overly arrogant. Either way, a good wee player and I'll be very happy to keep him until the end of the season. This Arsenal link up is looking promising methinks!
  4. You're in good company Scarlet!
  5. "doggie do" Ha!!
  6. "He's got different hairstyles as well, which is quite nice." I think this might be the best quote ever!!
  7. Rene, I do think Lagerback would take the job if offered despite being in a good position with Iceland. (but WTF would I know!)
  8. How so? No available Scottish boss particularly stands to me - again Souness (who might not even want the job) or Strachan may be a bit better, but neither look that inspiring - also, neither have any experience managing national teams. A foreign manager, who may well be a bit more tactically astute and have more international managerial experience, particularly with smaller nations to me seems the more logical choice. Bora Milutinović could be a man that fits that mould. Or like Lars Lagerback?!
  9. How about Stuart Baxter?
  10. I agree with Rene re Coyle - no thanks! He opted to play for Ireland as a player so don't think he has much love for our national team, either way agree he's probably just another Burley / Levein.
  11. Did he not say that he would take the Scotland job if offered but he will not apply again as he has applied and been interviewed 3 times and he has noting new to say to the SFA from the previous 3 times? Or did someone just tell me this in a pub?
  12. Doofers Dad, Levein has been in charge for 3 years, it's hardly a knee jerk reaction. That's if he's booted - he has not yet been booted and the question was not about should he go and the merits of him going, it was who would you like to see and who do think will get the job IF he is booted. Also at no point was he ever "the great white hope" and I know of no fan (and I know many Scotland fans) who were ever "excited by his appointment". As for keeping him until the end of the campaign, if we do not arrest the current form/slump we will find ourselves in pot 5 for the next draw, a situation which could take years to remedy. We will not qualify for the next WC but if we alter things now we could end the campaign on a positive note and perhaps even move up a pot rather than down. You also ask will others do any better? 3 wins in 12 competitive game, 2 against Leichtenstein, who we went behind to (at home) and then had to get a winner in the 97th minute and a win against Lithuania - yes someone else will do better. Burley did better, as did The German, I believe some of the folk on this forum could actually do a little better than that. My post asked "Who would folk like to see?..." not let's discuss the merits of the SFA and the structure of Scottish Football, that's been done to death and we all have opinions on that.
  13. Didn't realise asking questions wasn't allowed. Only chose Pearce as an example. Remember when Craig Brown took over his only club experience was with Clyde and his International experience was with Scotland Youth and U-21's. Ok - you're banned from using examples. stuart pearce is not even good when he's in TV adverts.
  14. You're banned!!
  15. Good God. You should work at the SFA. (Luke Mac - Ywngie got in there before I posted!)
  16. If/when the SFA do the right thing and get rid of our worst ever international manager who would you like to see given the job? Not who do you think will get it (oh ok - that too!) but who would you like? For me Lars Lagerback. Failing that Gordon Strachan. Who do I think the SFA will give the job to? Whoever the rangers tell them to or Steve Kean. No just kidding, I think they will go with Strachan or Walter Smith (again). Your turn...
  17. Well that's handy cos they're a first division club. At best.
  18. Let's be honest, the cretins at the SFA are more likely to pick Steve Kean!
  19. Moyes wouldn't touch the job. Maybe one day but not at the moment. Has to be Strachan or Souness for me. What about George Graham - thoughts?
  20. Any comment of "We were unlucky...", "Didn't get the rub of the green...", "Ref was against us...", etc. are madness. Levein's record as manager is the worst of any Scotland manager ever. He has the best squad of players any manager has had at his disposal for many, many years, better than Burley, better than The German, and he managed to get us to a play-off (Good God - I NEVER thought I'd see the bloody day when I ever stuck up for The German), hell the current squad is better than some that Craig Brown had at his disposal and he did a better job. Talk of focussing on 2016 (yes - 4 YEARS away!!!) is wrong too - unless we get rid of Levein and concentrate on salvaging something from this group we could find ourselves dropping down into pot 5 for future qualifiers - something that may take us years and years to recover from. Our world cup qualifying dream is over only 5 weeks after it begun and that is surely unacceptable.
  21. Any publicity is good publicity they say. I feel that those who are going to go to a game will regardless, in fact if the game earns a little extra hype via television previews before hand then it may help increase attendances, I certainly don't think it will harm them. The question was is the game changing? Not sure if this is "a new dawn" as the OP said but without the blue half of the ugly sisters broadcasters have to focus more on the other teams in the league, this exposure is beneficial no matter how you look at it. For so long we have heard folk say (quite rightly) that the league is a 2 horse race, now they get the chance to watch some other games and thankfully the teams involved (well ICT at least!) have provided good entertainment, played good football and shown the game in a positive light. The more of this the better, our game will only benefit from it. I'm not saying we have a marvellous league but I feel it is a better product WITHOUT the perpetual 2 horse race and involvement of the OF as a joint entity. Hopefully Mr. Green's dumb threat to never join the SPL while he is in charge at ibrox is a real threat as the longer the 2 OF teams are not in the league, the stronger the other teams can get and the better product the SPL becomes. I would much rather watch Hibs v Dundee United than Tottenham v Reading or some such EPL game simply because the teams involved mean more to me but I'm not daft enough to think it is a higher level of football on show. Is it more exciting? Probably, who knows - depends on the game itself, which is almost always an unknown quantity before the game starts. I find it strange that people in Scotland, and the powers that be (SPL, SKY, etc) seem to think having one of the OF on a televised game each and every week makes our league more appealing to a viewing audience - this is b0ll0x! I've lived in englandshire for extended periods on 2 separate occasions and genuine football fans down south have little time for talking Scottish football with you until they find out you are NOT an OF supporter, the moment you tell a fan you are an ICT supporter they ask you loads of questions about the game and say how they dislike the old firm and their fans. I've had this happen many times with fans of different teams and the questions they ask are very interesting, they accept that there is more money in the English game therefore they can attract better players but they always like you supporting "your own" team. Hopefully we are witnessing a change in Scottish football but we'll have to wait and see but there is no doubt there is the opportunity to alter the public perception of the Scottish game. Are those in charge wise enough to capitalise on this however?...
  22. What colour tie was he wearing?
  23. Insult?! You should hear the sh*t he calls me! Sheesh! The 2 times we've been at Hampden previously were in the Scottish cup not the league cup. Let's also remember that if we do get to the next round we will meet another SPL side, so a big ask to get to the final. And... even if we do get to the final we WILL NOT play at Hampden as no football will be played there after November. (although many say no football has been played there for a long time, etc, etc. yadda, yadda!)
  24. Doh! Laurence got in there quick - I agree with bauhaus's comment!
