  1. What is the point in this statement? Are you suggesting that this is going to change with a Yes vote and Salmond's secret polis will huckle people off in the night? Of course you are not - so it's a pointless thing to type. The No campaign is founded on keeping people in fear. A lot of the Scottish public are starting to realise this and now it's the No camp that is getting the fear.
  2. Butcher and McGregor together?!?! Oh boy - I'd love that to happen, we all know how that'd end! This is brilliant from Scotty's post: "Get back in your flower pot derek ya rubber faced weasel"
  3. Ok, so it's cost each of the other 11 teams around £100,000, but the plus side is it's cost celtic £15m+ (ish) - therefore the playing field may perhaps even out a little.
  4. Gordon Dalziel, Robbo and a certain M.Malpas being mentioned here: BBC - 11/12/2002
  5. glad we went with robbo then, couldn't see any of those candidates doing as well. They probably weren't the only ones in the frame but that was the only article that I found. Strangely I cannot remember any of the names that would have been mentioned.
  6. Sort of agree - an anchovy's good enough for the gudgies.
  7. From The Herald 2002 "Robertson is believed to have beaten off the challenge of Peterhead's Ian Wilson and Queen of the South's John Connelly to the job after Aston Villa's Kevin MacDonald dropped out of the race." Source: The Herald - 27/12/2002
  8. Kenny Shiels is IMO the biggest lucky escape we've ever had. Chris Sutton filled me with no confidence whatsoever as well. I understand the Malpas comments but feel it may just have worked in much the same way as others have thrived with us despite having patchy records elsewhere (Judas and Yogi for example). Did I ever mention that I would've quite liked Paul Sturrock at ICT?!
  9. 10th or above is IMO acceptable but I am hoping for (and optimistic for) much higher than that. Celtic may be a little weaker in some areas but Craig Gordon's a far superior keeper than Forster I believe. Motherwell away has always been a terrible fixture for us but last weeks result was amazing. Here's hoping it's the start of something special. These early point on the board are so important I feel, for many reasons, one being player confidence and belief which in turn inspires better performances.
  10. I've always thought he's a bit of a dud but as AJS says, sometimes players come to us and find something that they never showed before. Who knows what will happen (if he signs) but the prospect doesn't fill me with dread.
  11. It is indeed not a happy ground for us in the league. I would take a point right now.
  12. If Gauld and Robertson (please...) can go for £3m then we should expect a minimum of the same amount. Although I believe we should insist on £10m. Minimum. Ok - make it £25m.
  13. Well, this is fun isn't it...
  14. They did state when they bought him that he was signed for their B/reserve team initially. They have bought him to develop and then sell on at a very large profit. They were very clear on their intentions.
  15. Biggin, how about creating another Head to Head league for those that didn't get in in time? It looks like there's enough people... A Head2Head Championship?!
  16. I believe these folk have...
  17. Ha ha ha!! Check the 3 nuggets walking past Russell in that interview!
  18. It appears as though we very much have a man who is willing to and wants to fight our corner. Good on the big man I say, go for it. Let's let him do just that and stop crying because he's not TB.
  19. Damned if he does. Damned if he doesn't. We won. I couldn't give a toss if he chose not to speak to journalists or not. The talking was done on the pitch. If that original interview was given by old red nosed Judas I doubt anyone would have even mentioned it. If we have as good a start as last season people will still be crying because Yogi is not some eloquent quasi Butcher/Hartley imaginary management demi god. Let the team and the management get on with it. If they mess up what matters, then by all means vent your spleen.
  20. This happened a few seasons back. Does anyone else reckon Dermot Desmond has got pictures of Michel Platini holding hands with Jimmy Savlie or something?
