  1. I agree with you on this one Richard. I think the club need a bit of a rethink re their disabled policy. Not all people who have a disability require to use a wheelchair, but they are all stuck in the very front row of the North stand, which has no protection from rain or snow. Any wheelchair users are in an even worse position for shelter, and the new metal pole can make viewing the game extremely difficult. Add to this the stewards & police & subs who can block some disabled seats views completely and add trying to view the gamewhen 2000+ people decide to leave the game 10 mins early then stand behind the goal when a bit of excitement appears. It all adds up to a very poor product. The best disabled viewing area I have witnessed was at Tynecastle where all wheelchair viewing points are under cover and raised above touchline height. Hearts even had a steward who was a wheelchair user. I aree that the uncovered seats could be developed easily into a wheelchair viewpoint, providing dry viewing, exclusive disabled toilets and a raised vantage point. I think the powers that be could benefit fro taking in a game in a wheelchair to see where things can be improved. I remember a few years ago that Morven Reid was keen to re develop the clubs disabled policies and asked me to have an input, but due to various things it never went anywhere. Does anyone know if Morven is still at the club and what her role is? This is something i would be interested in looking into again.
  2. I agree that we need a defender. I thought MacGuire was a complete waste of space last year, and despite the constant arguing about Niculae's wages, ithink most people would be surprised if theywere to know the wages that macguire commands.I believe there'snot much of a differnece between him andMarius. The signing of the ex french lad from county hardly fills me with confidence.
  3. Oops, never saw other thread, but as IHE says this part is certainly true.
  4. OOps, never saw this thread and posted something similar on main board. The part about Black is certainly true, not sure about Munro.
  5. Folowing an exchange of words with Brewtser, Black has been training with the under 19s.
  6. I don't expect to see us challenging for the title or europe, but i do expect to see a manager who has some idea of what's going on and 11 players who give nothing less than 100%. - but im afraid that simply isn't happening. But i cant work out why there has been such a change. Players like duncan demanding higher wages because he played through the lower leagues with the team, yet continues to be in my opinion our most consistent player of the season (consistently poor). What turns my stomach is how russell has conducted himself through the press and quotes from his agent. It all leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I know that Wyness was disappointed to hear that Brewster was coming back. I think Brewster made it clear last time that he didn't fancy wyness. Dennis is a confinence player. He managed to go on a good scoring run then got injured. While scoring Brewster can hardly drop him, but once wyness is injured it appears brewster is relucantto place any faith in Dennis. The team selections are baffling. Go back to aberdeen game some months ago. Ritchie Hart hadn't been seen or heard of for long enough, yet starts the game, then doesnt even make squad again. Pantyliner, works hard to feature in squad, starts off on bench, then after couple of decent appearances makes the first team. Has one bad game last week and then he's left out of squad altogether. Brewster really is baffling me. Compare the managers today and decide which one wanted the win more and how they motivated their team from the sidelines. At the hearts game the home support was fantastic till the point where the self destruct button was pressed, yet after the game Brewster critisised the supporters. Today the group of boys I've been taking to games for years actually asked to leave early as the football served up in recent weeks has been so poor. If we don't get a result against kille on sat, then lose our customary game against the dons, we really could be in the shecht. Esp as the gretna situation could explode in our face at any time. I think Brewtser could end up being the first ict manager to be sacked.
  7. Got to say i agree with all ofthe above. I think Brewsters time is fast running out.
  8. Not been online for a few days and the first thread i see is one re Marius being selected for romanian squad. I was well chuffed for the guy and when i read the thread i was disapointed to see another thread turned into squabbling over our romanian connections and team formations. Its really starting to get tedious folks, and it is no wonder a lot of posters have turned their backs on this site. or those concered, give it a rest, its getting boring.
  9. why does every thread always have toreturn to slagging someone, something off? This thread is not about romanian building contracts, the team formation or about brewsters system being played around individual players. That should be done on one of the other 10 million negative threads on this forum. This thread is simply to say well done Marius, so lets a least be big enough to congratulate the guy, regardless of other circumstances at the club. Well done Marius and i for one hope you do well and hope yourperformance leads to some posters on here eating a large piece of humble pie.
  10. Wow, not a single poster has an opinion on one of our only positive stories of recent months. If this was a thread to slag any random player, bet it would be into its 9th page by now! :008: :020:
  11. Read an article in todays P&J re Ross Tokely. Ross was interviewed and spoke about being having to decide between a new contract at ICT or possibly moving to english team. He goes on to say that he's very settled in sneck and is proud of what he has achieved in his time here. He also says that the grass is not always greener. With all the talk of players not happy with new offers it was refreshing to hear him say He didn't feel he needed an agent to negotiate his new deal with club. Although Ross may not be every suporters cup of tea, hats off to him for showing loyalty to the club. I only wish every player had the same positive outlook. I would post a link but i'm a bit thick when it coms to these things. maybe someone else could !!!
  12. It was indeed good to catch up with several folk i've not seen for a while. Especially, Riley, Mooncat and a surprisingly hairy Beastie!
  13. Like the majority of fans, i didn't want CB back, however i was happy to offer suport and credit where it was due. If Brewster is allowed to reap the plaudits when things go well then i think he should also be man enough to accept responsibility when things go tits up. I think his days are numbered.
  14. Hi there, Bronson just told me about this thread. I don't know a lot about the admission criteria for Drummond School or the facilities that Grantown School have but from what you have posted it would seem that Drummond School would be an appropriate resource for your son. Obviously someone somewhere has made the decision about your son, but as his parents you can challenge this - which it would seem you are going to do so let us know how you get on! What really really frustrates me though is that despite the current funding cuts to social work services vital services which vastly improve people's quality of life are being withdrawn. Yet, on the other hand the department is continuing to send young people, outwith their parents control with social, emotional and behavioural problems, to specialist schools outwith Highland at the cost of around ?3,000-?4,000 per week! Good luck with any appeal you make. Weez
  15. Only just saw this thread tonight, i have signed the petition, as has Weez. Having been in involved in numerous educational and social work reviews, I am only too aware that unfortunately these days the main priority is cost saving, so the priority will be the closest school possible, not the one which would benefit him most. I find it hard to believe the claim that Drummond school is full, especially as they are close to completing a brand new school there. we are at a time where inclusion is widely promoted amongst schools for those with disabilities, and many children do manage to succeed in this, however this appears to be a case where the specialist schooling, medical and facilities avaialable at Drummond would appear to be the only logical option for your son. I wish you good luck Marty as i know only too well the excellent work that is carried out by the staff at Drummond. I would also encourage all other posters on here to take the time to sign a very worthwhile petition, which could lead to vastly improving a child's quality of life.
  16. Don't we haveprivate messages to stop clogging up the threads with this sort of stuff?
  17. Read with interest that Calderwood says his team must win tom night if they areto finish 3rd this season. Think the man is slightly deluded.
  18. I have been looking after doresboy's flag for a couple of seasons now. Seem to remember him moaning about it (after game in Dumfries) being too heavy for him to carry from pub to pub, so i offered to look after it. The boys that i take to the football then took responsability for it and it appeared at every home game in the uncovered wing of the stand (wheneverspace permitted). It has even travelled to every away ground in premier and 1st division. Only ground we weren't allowed to display it were at Ibrox and parkhead. (one parkhead steward let me put it up but his supervisor rushed over and insisted we remove it! However during a particularly windy day (think it was defeat by dundee utd 0-3), a gust caught it and damgaged it slightly and its been in retirement since then. I'll dig it out and see if it'll be fit or a day out!! :003:
  19. Am i the only one who was baffled by our squad today? Apparently Wyness was injured so fair dos, but to completley exclude Wilson from the squad, and to take off Niculae when he was as effective as the next person, esp when we're chasing the game doesn't make sense. I thought Duncan and McBain were poor today, but i was impressed with Imrie and Paaty. A draw was prob a fair result. Did i see we didn't have a single shot on target in the 1st half?? A barnstorming last 10minutes, but why do we have to concede a goal before we make the effort?
  20. After watching us squander cross after cross again, i wonder why we are so poor in this area. We have a number of strong solid players who should be getting goals from corners, long throws and free kicks. The likes of tokely, mcguire, munro, bayne, niculae should all be scoring from decent balls into the box, but it never seems to work that way. I winced as i watched Blacks terrible short corner which travelled about 5 yards, Cowies corner that failed to beat the first defender. (its almost like we aim for the first defender!) From the aformentioned corner, utd went straight up the pitch and scored. Tokely also put a cross into deep space, but to be fair the ball took a horrendous bobble. If we could get decent balls in the box we could be adding an extr 10 to 15 goals a season.
  21. I remember taking a lad i used to wrk with who is a wheelchair user to a big game (think it was semi final at hampden). He had an ict flag with pole, which on match days was permanently stuck between his chair and handles so flag flew behind him when pushed. As we entered the ground we were toldwe wouldn't be allowed in unless we took pole of the flag. I pointed out that the lad who the fag belonged to couldn't actually use his arms due to his disability, but alas pole was eventually removed. Once inside the ground there was a group of women on a hen night/day (about 20) all of whom had wooden poles larger than flag pole with a picture of a certain celebritie stuck on the end (can't mind if it was Elvis or cliff richard) Common senseappears to no longer exsist at football grounds :rolleyes02:
  22. I remember that day well, the police stood right in front of us for the entire game, even following a certain fan when he went to toilet/pie stand!! :015: Come back feb8th, all is forgiven
  23. Thanks everyone for all your best wishes!! - i'll pass them on to Weez and Isla when i get to the hospital!!!! :021: :021: :021: :021: :021: :021:
  24. Are these not the players who have provided a storming 2nd 3rd of the season, who have taken us from the depths of relegation, viewing gretna as our only chance of survival to one win of 5th place and within 4 points of 3rd spot (if we win that game) Seems some people have exceptionally high expectations. At this moment in time we'/re having an extremley successful season, so suggesting that the players mentioned above are on their last legs with us confuses me somewhat. I would rather likes of tokely,Mcbain and Duncan continue "on their last legs " with us and not pushing aother team up the spl. As for getting their acts together?, Christ what do some people expect from our players? Time for a reality check methinks.
