Clock is ticking, I'd imagine there's a considerable amount going on behind the scenes at the minute but it would be nice to get something tied up before we miss out. Our direct rivals for a European spot have already strengthened considerably today. Doing no business would just smack of a lack of ambition.

We need to get an out and out striker in. Watkins up there on his own is not a long term solution yet as he has a bit to learn with regard to his movement and holding up the ball. Perhaps more importantly we lose his ability to run from deeper & wide. And yes, I'm aware he scored today but I'm thinking about the bigger picture.

Attendance at home to the same opposition on a nice Saturday afternoon in September was 2,770. With 3,161 at the TCS tonight I'd consider Pay What You Want a success, must be at least 500 additional fans through the gate.

4 points from a possible 12 and a league cup defeat since the last international break. Seems like this one might do us a favour and allow us to regroup and get back to what we were doing at the start of the season.

Despite being lucky that the game was so close at half time, we really had enough chances to win 3 games in the 2nd half. How many? Very frustrating for 2 reasons- the shocking first half performance and the fact we didn't take any of the opportunities in the second.

Quite happy to reach half-time only 1 goal down, it could and should have been so much worse. Our passing has been abysmal and our front 4 anonymous, too many players hiding. I'd hook Doran or Watkins and bring on Williams.

We've come down to their level today. So sloppy, we can barely string a pass together. Brill should have come for that cross on second viewing.

Well that was disappointing. I cant help but be reminded of the cup final, a big game where we turn in a lifeless, insipid performance. It was more than a little frustrating to realise early on that the plan was solely containment. We showed an average team far too much respect tonight, im not sure whether it was down to the players or tactics but it was almost as if we were playing for penalties from the off - not something I want to become a habit.

Someone like Gary Holt, young,ambitious, progressive and capable of working to a tight budet. Doesn't appear to talk in riddles.

Yep, hence why I made two seperate points in my post. He's presided over our worst ever home defeat (5-0) and now equalled our worst ever defeat (6-0 v Airdrie) since he's taken over.
