  1. From a very quick look at the SPFL rules, it looks as though there is provision for emergency recall of recognised goalkeepers - provided that that was written into to the "temporary transfer" contract - but not for outfield players. Temporary transfer periods must be aligned with "registration periods" - basically must end in either the January transfer window or at the end of the season.
  2. Exactly what "assistance" did they ask for from the authorities? Either they said that because of the injury situation, they would not put out the strongest available team. In which case they could expect little sympathy. Or did they ask for a postponement - and for how long?
  3. Presumably the Diddy Cup has no rules about that? There have certainly been recent disputes about that in the Football League, which had - maybe still has - requirements for you to play as strong a team as you can.
  4. Promotion this season is gone, and I doubt if we could to afford to sack and pay off Dodds, and then hire someone new. I know that others disagree, but the number of injured first-pick players must also be having some effect, even if "only" psychological. Someone thought that Dodds' contract ends after this season. We will probably have to wait and see what happens then. On a positive note, I don't think we will be relegated!
  5. BBC stats say 10 shots, of which 1 was on target. How often have we commented on poor shooting?
  6. Just had it again, a couple of times. It's actually "This page is slowing down Firefox. To speed up Firefox, stop this page.". There isn't a "wait" option. Firefox had 15 or 16 processes running - though I had only one tab open - and, at that time, one of them was using about 30% of CPU utilisation. When I first start it up and it's on the default Firefox home page, it has 8 processes running. Right now it's 14, so coming here adds between 6 and 8.
  7. With me - Windows 10, Firefox, no extensions that I know of - when the site first is first loading I am now frequently getting the Firefox message that is something like "This page is slowing Firefox down. Stop or wait for it to load?". It must be having problems trying to load something - maybe external ads? If I stop it and then refresh the page it usually loads OK. I am also now seeing ads (actually copies of the same ad) between messages in a thread. This started a few days ago, so I guess you changed it.
  8. Well, we got that point - but Morton, Dundee, Queens and Partick all won
  9. Hey, we're winning! What's all the gloom about?
  10. Poster coming up for auction tomorrow (Thursday 10th), along with two other posters. This link takes you to the lot on the auction house's website - https://tinyurl.com/3vupnhdp I won't be bidding for it. Good luck if you do!
  11. Indeed. Our main problem since Billy Mckay left for the first time, in early 2015, has been that we have not had a reliable, consistent goalscorer. And that includes the twice that Billy has been back. Yes, I know that players who fit that description are few and far between, but it should be a priority. And, having seen a lot of streamed games during the last two seasons, I know that I've said a few times that basic shooting practice is badly required.
  12. You'll still be in time for the 5.30pm kick-off Toodle-pip!
  13. Depends on what his ambitions and circumstances are - I simply don't know. He is still only 25 - young for a goalkeeper - so I would guess that he could well still be hoping for first-team football somewhere.
  14. Depends on what the reasons are. I was reading an interview with Martin O'Neill earlier. (He has a book coming out.) He, of course, learned much from Brian Clough, and was emphasising that the manager sometimes has to be harsh or hard with a player. Not unfairly, but sometimes they just have to show the player, and the rest of the dressing room, who is boss. I also think that if you have a decent second keeper, as Cammy is, then you have to give him a few outings, otherwise he will become unhappy. Hope it all works out.
  15. Sorry, I meant that Stenny surely should identify clashes and notify all concerned. They must be best-placed to identify them. I agree, of course, that they don't have any responsibility to sort it out if they are not involved in the clashing matches.
  16. I agree with that, though I still feel that the principal responsibility must rest with the organisation which manages "bookings" for the ground - ie Stenny - just as it would with any other type of venue. That is a good article, pointing out the inconvenience caused to both sets of supporters, especially ours.
  17. There is evidence for that? Do all clubs check all fixtures in Scotland in case of a clash? I suppose there might - but only might - be someone at the SFA who has a list of all fixtures, but they probably don't check for clashes. The person who should have known, and raised a red flag, is the person at Stenny who is responsible for the calendar of usage of the ground. If they did give the clubs and leagues notice of this, and no subsequent action was taken, then they are in the clear. But if they didn't....
  18. I respectfully but firmly disagree. Because of no streaming I have seen very little of ICT this season, but I did see a lot last season. Cammy had a very good run for a few matches, and I don't remember him being any distance behind Mark in terms of goalkeeping. i also remember starting a debate by saying that his ball distribution was better than Mark's - rolling it to a team-mate instead of hoofing it downfield straight to the opposition. Obviously I don't want any rift between the manager and any players, but Cammy playing in goal for a few games wouldn't bother me.
  19. Have switched it off. Morton players are aggressive and fouling just about every time they challenge for the ball, and the referee is a joke. Can't wait for Gardeners' World now
  20. I see from the linked post that you are working with people at Fort George. Presumably this will cover the Camerons and Seaforths - and thus most of the Inverness area people who served - but I am sure you are aware that Inverness people served in other regiments too. My grandfather, who played for Citadel after the war, was in the Royal Horse Artillery, and saw action in Sinai and Palestine - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness-shire_Royal_Horse_Artillery . I don't know who would have their records nowadays. The surviving "Battery Boys" used to have a regular - annual, I think - reunion dinner in Inverness, which I remember from the 1960s, and which might even have gone into the 1970s. Places to look for further info would include Inverness Courier archives and possibly Am Baile. Other local regiments included the Lovat Scouts, and there was also the Navy and the fledgling Air Force. Good luck!
  21. Top by a point, but Partick have a game in hand. Shame we couldn't have won the 3 points. BBC stats look horrific - shots, shots on target, and corners are 13-3, 7-2 and 13-3, all to Raith. Possession was 52-48 for us. Look forward to reading first-hand reports.
  22. With Queens currently 1 up on Partick, I would not accept anything other than a win!
  23. With that team, I'd be praying for dense fog. I see that Raith have just scored. Did anyone see it?
