I believe McGuire & Proctor both came in late on Deadline Day last year. That was certainly ICT's most eventful transfer day in recent years! On the general topic of the lack of ICT signings, I think the squad is too thin, especially at Centre Back, however I'm prepared to back Brewster on the condition that there were no quality options available. I agree its not worth filling the squad with low quality players just for the sake of squad depth. Incidentally, MFR reported this morning we tried to get James McPake on a club record deal last night. Any truth in that one?

Three semi finals in four seasons? Not bad for an average team... There are already plans in place for protests & boycotts if Rafa is sacked. Surely the yank 2hats wouldn't be that stupid?

Group A : Chelsea, Roma, Bordeaux, CFR Cluj Group B : Inter Milan, Werder Bremen, Panathinaikos, Anorthosis Famagusta Group C : Barcelona, Sporting Lisbon, FC Basel, Shakhtar Donetsk Group D : Liverpool, PSV Eindhoven, Marseille, Atletico Madrid Group E : Man United, Villarreal, Celtic, Aalborg Group F : Lyon, Bayern Munich, Steaua Bucharest, Fiorentina Group G : Arsenal, FC Porto, Fenerbahce, Dynamo Kiev Group H : Real Madrid, Juventus, Zenit St Petersburg, BATE Borisov Battle of Britain in Group E, Celtic vs. Man United, plus Villarreal and Danish Aalborg Other British clubs... Chelsea face Roma, Bordeaux & Romanians CFR Cluj. Liverpool have a tough group - PSV, Marseille & Atletico. Arsenal face Porto, Fenerbahce & Dynamo Kiev. Group H looks like it could be interesting... Juventus back in the big time with Real Madrid and UEFA Cup winners Zenit. No one is really sure who BATE Borisov are . Lyon, Bayern & Fiorentina might be an interesting battle for top two spots, don;t know who good Steaua are these days. Barcelona & Sporting should have Group C wrapped up, cant see Basel or Shakhtar causing them any major problems. And the other uninteresting group see Inter et Mourinho face Werder, Panathinaikos & Cypriot side Anothosis Famagusta (who played Rangers a couple of years back).

Is there going to be any highlights anywhere? Sorry if this has already been asked, can't see it anywhere...

So unlucky Queens. Very good performance, feel sorry for them. Fantastic effort

Spot on. Whenever we start songs, no one joins in. Yet whenever anyone else starts a song, we do join in, like Saturday whenever Alex started a song. And strange comment about the drums, they were out and being used on Saturday, you can hear them on the bbc highlights if you doubt me

No it was Gary Ablett, Reserve Team Manager. And the Liverpool no. 6 spoke about earlier is Jay Spearing, real star of the future remember the name

I appreciate that views on performance are subjective but I find it hard to believe that you thought Rossco was alright. Tis odd. Last season at times I gave Rossco a tough time on here, and no-one seemed to agree with me. Yet it now seems to be the other way around!
-
I didn't have a problem with Ikey's performance. Positioning could have been better for Accies goal, great double save in the second half and looked safe at crosses. I thought Rossco was alright. Good forward runs, bit slow getting back however. McGuire was awful. I don't know what game you were watching. Cowie was decent I thought. Worked hard, one or two miss-placed passes, but didn't deserve to be subbed off when McBain was giving as bad a performance as he did. Great kick at the bottle after he came off No argument over the rest though :thumb04:

How about This lad :018: :thumb04:

Post Match - Dont really remember much between McBain goal and arriving back in Sneck Manager's Tactics - For once he appeared to have some. MOM - Grantie :thumb04: Erm... Thanks...?? :018:

If the referees want ?1,000 per match, they've got to stop just giving decisions to the OF and get a feckin grip. It was an atrocious decision, and I have absolutely no doubt that if it was Caldwell & Wyness at the other end later on he wouldn't even have thought about giving it. Feel sorry for Haining, but at least he's got Michelle Marsh to go home to

Thought I'd do my own smiley-o-meter rather than comment on others': Fraser :thumb04: :018: Didn't have an awful lot to do, but what he did he mostly did well. A couple of nervous moments, once flapping at a cross, and another racing off his line but was beaten to it. However, a clean sheet at Pittodrie is a good achievement for Ikey ;) Tokely :015: :D :021: Good cross for Andy's goal, and a good moment in the second half, where he made a fool of an Aberdeen player with a clever flick past him. Beaten on the wing too easily once or twice, but a good performance overall :022: McGuire :D :D :D I thought he was decent enough. In Grantie's shadow a wee bit but dealt with most of what was thrown his way. I agree a couple of dodgy momenths though. Munro :D :D :D :D :D Brilliant performance. A couple of very good headers, and I remember an incredible goal-saving tackle in the second half. Let nothing get past him, Captain's performance :022: Hastings :D :D :D Solid enough performance from Hastings, I remember a good crunching tackle in the second half. There was a couple of moments in the second half however, when he wasted possession by just hoofing it rather than looking for a pass. Black :D :D :D :D :D Another fantastic performer. Skills on the ball, passing, tackling, everything spot on Blacky. Kept his temperament under control too. Top performance :P Duncan :D :D :D :D Very good, passionate performance from Russeldinho. Loved the slide-on-knees celebration for Andy's goal, and two or three stunning tackles. Broke up the play well, and seemed to get better as the game went on. Cowie :D :D :D :D Worked hard, didn't do anything wrong, but not one of his best displays. McBain :D :D :D :D Was annonymous for parts of the first half, but a good second half display. Unbelievable run for his goal, intelligent play and a great finish. Overall, a good display from Roy. Imrie :D :D :003: :003: Very good performance from Dougie and great to see him applauding the fans at the end of both halfs. Some great runs, very good part in the second goal. Barrowman :003: :003: :003: :003: Surprised and impressed with Andy. Good finish, and he never stopped running. Held the ball up well, stayed cool under pressure, and looked every bit the SPL player. Well done Andy :022:

When was this exactly??

BBC reports today on players in the squad for tomorrow : Fraser, Esson, Tokely, Zadi, Hastings, Kerr, McBain, Wilson, Black, Imrie, Duncan, Cowie, Sutherland, Vigurs, Barrowman, McAllister, Wood. For some reason "Hart" is also included :thumb04: So, possible Starting XIs? From that squad, its would have to be: Fraser Tokely - Zadi - Hastings - McBain Cowie - Duncan - Black - Imrie Barrowman - McAllister Subs - Esson, Kerr, Vigurs, Wilson, Sutherland, Wood, ???? (hart??) Looking at that, you've got to worry at our chances of staying up Two very inconsistent left backs as the centre back pairing, and a left/central midfielder playing left back. Then a striker who was failed as of yet to prove he is anywhere near SPL quality, up front with a player who failed to prove himself at First Division level two years ago. Unless Brew makes some astute signings before September, I'm very very worried :018: Thoughts?

Barry Wilsons Testimonial (merged topics)
TomCaleyJag replied to Alex MacLeod's topic in Caley Thistle
Wicked ;) Plessis & Insua have played a few first team matches at LFC, and I know its a cliche, but Jay Spearing & Krisztian Nemeth, remember the names. Especially Nemeth. :thumb04: :018: -
Spare ticket now gone.
