  1. How sick am I that me and the other half didn't go through to Aberdeen on Saturday?????? The thought was there, but tiredness won the day - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! What a spectacular win for the boys and so deserved at long last. Only hope it gives the boys heart to believe that they can win every match they play - they've got the capability as Saturday's match proved. One in the eye for all the central belt pundits who are only too ready to write ICT off as an amateur highland side!!! Good to see the boys at the beginning of Sportscene - I for one used to get totally hacked off at having to wait till the end of Scotsport to see them, by which time I was losing the will to live after listening to how fab the old firm were in every report etc etc etc. Can't wait till Saturday and our first home game of the season - c'mon the boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. My husband, 2 young teenagers and I had the misfortune to be sitting in the uncovered area of the main stand nearest to the south stand - this was the second time we've been sitting there when playing against Rangers and unfortunately it was no more pleasant than the last. We try to go to as may home games as possible (work permitting) and also to take the youngsters to games when the bigger teams come calling. I was horrified to realise that there were probably as many Rangers fans in this particular section as there were home support and were any of them lifted???????????? No surprise to learn that they weren't and no-one even got a warning. Were there any stewards to be seen????? Were there heck as like!!! I really enjoy going to the home matches, but when it's a match against Rangers you are made to feel in the minority in your own stand. I actually told one Rangers supporter to get a ticket in his own stand the next time, only to be told "it wasn't my fault". Er, who bought the flamin ticket? I don't suppose he was hammered by an ICT fan & told to take it???????? Alex Macleod reckons that times have moved on and we should just accept what happens - no flamin way!!!!! Why should we??? Do we have to wait until there's a fight between fans and then the proverbial will well and truly hit the fan. Yes, times have moved on, but we live in a more violent and racially abusive society now - some football fans can be the worst offenders, and none more so than the old firm. My husband used to go to all the Hearts home games and says that any OF fans that were in the home stands were given short shrift to put it mildly - stewards and police were quick to remove them because they know how things might kick off if they don't. Incidentally, if season ticket holders are allowed to buy extra tickets, is it being monitored who they're passing them on to????? Friends/relatives who are OF fans???? I think the club needs to have more discussions with both the police and stewards and take on board the views of the fans (who pay out the money after all) to stamp out this blatant disregard by OF fans of club rules/policies etc.
  3. My husband & I (not the royal "we" I might hasten to add!) normally sit in the north stand, but decided to sit in the main stand on Tuesday night - what a mistake (apart from our good view of the match)!!! The fans in the north stand were an absolute credit to the club - we actually sound like "proper" football fans these days. Please please please continue coming to all the home games - you're fab! I'll defo be in the north stand on Saturday and hope that we get a repeat performance both on and off the pitch. North stand supporters are definitely much better than main stand supporters from the noise point-of-view. As for the stewards - well, dare I start on that one????? Why is it they seems to come down so hard on home supporters and never seem to lift a finger to our dear, dear friends from that large west coast city in the central belt??? Is it something to do with repression or are they related to all these unmentionables from Rangers/Celtic??? As per usual, after the first game of the season, Rangers well and truly get off with blue murder (if you'll pardon the pun) from stewards, Police and the SFA, but when it comes to home fans everything seems to get a bit silly. Come one stewards, how about trying to hammer down on the real problem supporters, and not the home guys who are really pretty tame by the old firm's standards????
  4. I'm absolutely appalled to read about what happened yesterday - I was at the match but couldn't really see what was going on. What is is about the stewards at our matches??? They haven't a clue about dealing with real problem areas ie away fans (probably coz they're too scared to get involved) - what about all the away fans who were standing up all the way thro the match? Do they not count? I suppose it would have been too much hassle to eject all the away fans anyway, but they obviously have some sort of special deal with the powers-that-be that they don't get touched for any misdemeanours while at the match. Same seems to go for all the away supporters who manage to wheedle their way into the main/north stand at alarming regularity, celebrate if their team scores and then don't get touched for it - perhaps the stewards would do better to look out for the likes of these before pushing their weight around with home supporters who are no more causing trouble than flying in the air. Home supporters are the life-blood of the club and management would do well to remember that - I reckon this incident has p......d off enough people that they'll have to listen to the supporters for a change rather than brushing their views under the carpet. PS well done the singers/drummers - would join in more often if only I knew the words???
  5. OOps, I meant helpful, not healpful! Must be all this talk of Lithuania addling my already weak brain!!
  6. Ha ha! (mad laff) Don't you understand this is all part of his cunning plan??? There'll be a big enquiry into match-fixing by Scottish referees, then they'll all be sacked and then Romanov will offer to provide referees free-of-charge. Where will they be from, I hear you ask? Lithuania, of course! As I already said in another forum subject, today Hearts, tomorrow the world! Have you not heard of the new Edinburgh football club - Lithuania United???? He's only trying to be healpful and sort out the crises in Scottish football (?????)
  7. Who's the copper??????????????
  8. My poor hubbie is an avid Hearts fan (has been for years and years) and is absolutely disgusted with all the goings-on at Tynecastle just now - he's certainly not one of the fans who think what Romanov is doing is good for the club. Things are so bad, he won't even use his season ticket now (which is really a major statement from him!!) and he dreads reading the papers or watching the football news to see what crap Romanov is churning out next. As for the players who spoke out, good on them - how many previous managers have been gagged from saying what the players had the nuts to say??
  9. Seems Vlad the Bad's gonna have his evil way and create ......................................... Lithuania United at Tynecastle. Today Edinburgh........................ tomorrow the world!!!!!!
  10. Wooooo! Don't IHE and CaleyD get wound up easily??? IHE - enjoy ursel getting pished - only hope you can concentrate enough on the game with wet pants! CaleyD - nothing wrong with my spelling and my understanding of the english language thanks. Hilarious that my comments about emptying a car park have encouraged you to get invoved in a local constabulary-bashing exercise!
  11. Well, Immortal Howden Ender, what a really constructive answer to the problem!!! Trouble is, it's not really all that handy having to walk all the way in from Nairn??? At the end of the day it's my choice to park at the stadium, but I don't think I'm being that unreasonable to wonder if there's a more effective way to empty the car park. Maybe you can't afford a car though with all the shoe leather you wear out doing all that walking? As for the traffic problems within the town centre - roadworks, layouts of old streets, busy weekend traffic anyway - don't supoose these things enter into the equation either?? What the traffic problems in the town have to do with how the car park is emptied escapes me, but reading the answers I'm getting here, I suppose global warming will be blamed next!
  12. I totally agree about the actions of plenty of selfish people who just aren't prepared to wait their turn - I think they are probably in the minority - but surely there could be some better way of filling/emptying the car park rather than what is being done just now. I wish I knew what this brilliant way might be so that life could be made easier for everyone involved?? How do other clubs manage? Can the local polis suggest anything better seeing as they're traffic management experts?? I live in eternal hope, but meanwhile there's no way I'm parking at the stadium on Sunday or I might have to take a flask, sandwiches and a sleeping bag with me!!!!
  13. Grrrrrrrrr!!! Am I the only one who thinks that life is ending when the car park is being emptied after a match?? I have never come across such a shower of inconpetenet numpties as the stewards who "try" to get the cars out. I had the misfortune to be at the Rangers' match (not the watching of the match I might hasten to add!!) and I sat for 45 mins waiting to get out of the car park. Who organises it? Who do I moan to officially? Heeeellllpppp!!!
