  1. Our defending has become a laughing stock ! Just how many goals have we presented to the opposition this season? Two so called "experienced" players diving into challenges in the box, again how many times this season? The third goal, well what can you say, it was so bad it was funny. Mr Dodds , it is only this season I fully realise your contribution to my club , for that I thank you.
  2. what a shambles !
  3. Aberdeen were simply gifted the three points today, they were missing several key players and lost a further two to injury. They must have though it was xmas come early ! We have to stop giving away "soft" goals Non ICT friends of mine are laughing at us! you could put it down to a bad day at the office but it's becoming a worrying habit ! The last four goals we have conceded have been worth 250 pounds a pop on you've been framed!
  4. Does smack a bit of last minute "make do and mend " but who's fault is that ? I am afraid it's the previous manager who left us with NO defensive cover !
  5. We need to start playing to our limitations again and the old game plan of being hard to beat! Until we sort things out at the back, we are going to continue to struggle. The current centre back pairing is simply NOT working, it didn't work at the start of our first season in the SPL either!
  6. Several thousand people who will turn up a the ground tomorrow or who will follow the action from a far. They would look at some of the nonsense spouted on this site over the last few days and feel bemused! They work hard all week ,want their team to win at the weekend , they then move with their lives and wait for next week to do it all over again. So many people need to get some perspective and get a B%&*dy grip !
  7. North Today Bulletin reports a shortlist of three discussed by the Board - Brewster, Coyle and Warnock. Coyle would cost Not sure Warnock is realistic Brewster must be the strong favourite to return.
  8. As football fans we are a " fickle" breed Any Player / Manager will soon be forgiven for previous actions IF they start to deliver the goods on their return.
  9. The one thing which will be a deciding factor in any management appointment is that the new man must be in place in a matter of days due to the closure of the transfer window. The squad needs attention, the lack of defensive cover is astonishing, while we could almost field an entire team consisting of midfield players! In theory Brewster ( if he has a release clause ) and Warnock ( jobless) could be in place by Saturday, I think it is more likely to be Brewster. But whoever it is, there is a big job ahead, we need to start playing to our strengths again and that is by REALISING our limitations.
  10. Not sure linking Brewster is lazy journalism. The fact is there are very few realistic targets out there for us, Robbo and Brewster were always going to be mentioned in dispatches, and both would return IF offered. If Brewster has a get out clause in his Dons contract , he could be in place in a matter of days! But as has been mentioned elsewhere the appointment should give a very clear indication of who really calls the shots at the club. Interesting times ahead!
  11. Russell Duncan is player I have a lot of time for. When deployed as a holding midfielder he is vital cog in the team pattern. He not only covers the back four well, he always shows to receive the ball from them. They are then less likely to then pump 40 yard aimless balls up to the front two. His distribution can let him down at times, but when he plays it simple and gives it to his more " creative " colleagues he is excellent ! He never " hides" during a game, even we he's not at his best and getting some usually uncalled for stick from the sidelines.
  12. I don't post very often on here but for what it worth here are my thoughts ! Both sides of the for and against Christie camps have very valid points. But it will be this summer he will be truly tested. It is an old cliche but the club is very much at a cross roads. With the exception of Baltacha every manager has taken us forward. Under Pele we were magnificent to watch , he also signed some fantastic players, many still doing the bizz for us. But it took Robbo to win the first division and take us to the SPL. Brewster then made us one of the fittest and professional teams in the league and added an extra dimension as a player. The jury is still out on CC, he has produced some great results but also some dross! and now he must show he has the contacts and eye for a player to rebuild the spine of our team in the close season. Do the Board have full trust in him to spend the biggest budget any ICT manager has been given? because the squad has never needed the surgery required over the next few months. CC is learning his trade at the top level in Scottish football, The Board are taking a gamble on him, but there must be no half way houses. If they believe in him, they must back him this summer! As I said CC is learning his trade, and unlike most of us he is doing it in the full glare of publicity. But he has been naive on many occasions, especially with the media, criticising your own own fans is a complete NO NO and the kind of thing the press will gobble up and spit back at you. If I am honest, I wasn't one hundred percent convinced when CC got the job, the truth is I am still not! But I do hope he can prove me and the other doubters wrong, because like all of us, whatever your view, he does care passionately about the club.
  13. Poor result, poor performance, they happen ! But the bottom line is we don't have the front line to worry SPL defences. We have been unlucky with injuries, but not bringing in some forward cover during the window was a major blunder! CC has no real option to change things where it really counts, UP FRONT !
  14. Have little doubt some form of attempt was made to bring in a new forward during the window, but the bottom line is it failed! Lets hope Dargo's return IS just a few weeks away, and the Bayne / Rory partnership can bring their Celtic form into Saturday's game with United.
  15. Very concerned about the lack of forward cover over the coming weeks. Apart form Bayne, we have a youngster yet to impress on a regular basis at SPL level and a striker in his mid 30's who has played only a few minutes of top flight football this season. Rory was excellent for 75 mins against Celtic and deserves his chance, but is it fair to expect him to produce that form week in week out? We SHOULD have moved to bring in attacking cover during the transfer window, I hope it's not going to cost us.
