  1. Certainly Fraser doesn't want him to go but in The Sun (lol) Brewster was exactly reassuring in his desire to keep Rankin with that fantastic clich? "who knows what can happen in football" and "if we were to let him go it would need to be a significant offer"* thus basically saying we probably we would sell him so long as the offer is right for us. *roughly
  2. Perhaps over confidence on my part although that's something I can't be accused of often! That said I was in no doubt that we are by far a better team than Gretna and we would adequately take care of them today and the lads were thoroughly professional in doing so. If they are to have any chance of staying up they need to sign players before they ripping apart their squad in such dramatic fashion as they are currently doing.
  3. Thought Proctor did well though I would have been interested to maybe have seen Tokely in the centre of defence with proctor as right back. Just think they are more suited that way around myself.

    Great stuff.
  5. I agree with Jay. We were pretty poor in the 2nd half but then again it was simply a training exercise by that point. Still, we could have hit at least 7 although Gretna had some good chances as well. Easy win for us and I thought the whole team were good. I noted Blackie ripping Niculae a few times for losing possession :015: Not really much can be said. The result was never in doubt beforehand.
  6. Darryl Duffy a left midfielder? :017:

We will win this easily. Gretna are astonishingly poor and have gotten rid of even more players without bringing anyone in to replace them. They are weaker than they were before whereas we are stronger. They might have had a few close games but I can't see anything other than an ICT win. At least 3 - 0.
  8. Seems I missed this!
  9. Edging towards a deal? Interesting to note that the BBC story says Gus was alerted when Rankin was told by Brewster he could leave, something Brewster said he didn't want to happen only last weekend.
  10. Again, you are questioning his commitment based on some internet rumours. Remember when Blackie "bought a house in Dundee"? I think some people are jumping to conclusions to quickly. I'll wait till something more formal/official comes out before getting worried about Rankin leaving.
  11. He did say prior to the Killie game that Rankin wasn't going anywhere...
  12. But you are basing on him not wanting to be here on nothing more than hearsay from the gossip column of sources like The Sun. Hardly the most reliable of bases to say he should be shipped out. I think we need some official confirmation/denial from the club/manager before we start saying ta ta just yet.
  13. As I said, I am basing my post on what someone (I thought) had said on here. I never said if it was actually the case.
  14. Yup. Didn't someone on here say he is actually fit again and he's just not getting a look in? I think he is an okay back up player but I'd take Rankin ahead of him every time.
  15. Erm, "how quick are we to turn on our players" ring any bells? I have seen nothing from Marcus to suggest any of the aboe is true. Quite staggering that people seem to have written Rankin off. He made me eat my words and hopefully he will do to others. Again.
  16. Yup, criminal that Aberdeen can have played as badly as they did today yet somehow escaped with the 3 points. Had a good laugh at Richie Byrne just before half time when he thought there was a foul or offside given and stopped going for the ball allowing Cowie plenty of time to put in a cross that, from an Aberdeen PoV, thankfully was no threat.
  17. About 5 minutes walk.
  18. Chris - I think the penalty against Hearts was given for a shirt tug by Munro. That's what the highlights showed but the commentator said it was McGuire.
  19. I think that if a club, say St. Mirren, were to offer ?40k for Rankin, I would say that is as reasonable a fee as we are likely to get for him. Pretty certain I'm not missing an "O" anywhere unless you are thinking of a "0"? Regardless, I don't think there was anything missing there. Others might feel different of course.

    ?
  21. If Rankin was to move on I think this ?40k figure would be about what we would get back for him. We'd be doing well to get that. This was the amount St. Mirren originally offered to County for John before we came in and bettered their offer. I can't see St. Mirren offering us ?160k for him - they wouldn't be held to ransom.

Who were the commentators? I can't think of this Rankin chance of the top of my head. Black and Bayne had good chances along with Niculae as mentioned. Just wish we could have taken one of them. A lesson in being clinical I guess.

Would that not mean dropping Don Cowie?

    1) The whole team was not very poor today. 2) What chance was this for Rankin?
