  1. Ah the BENI banter at Pittodrie was always brilliant! I wish we still played there as the atmosphere has never been so good. Think we (The BENI) and all the guys who came along to sing got mentioned in the papers after each game for their support. Cracking atmosphere indeed. Bring back the BENI! :015: EDIT: I doubt the club would give you funding given they wouldn't let us store the drums down at the stadium but maybe we will be pleasantly surprised!
  2. Cheers for that HOA :003: I had wondered how that table was shaping up.

Out of interest Alex who do you think they would be? I would guess at Saint Johnstone & Dunfermline. Not sure about Dundee and I wouldn't have said Hamilton either.
  4. I'd prefer to see our temporary hay barns turned into some kind of permanent structure before we think about a 4th stand.
  5. Stuck this up the topic as a sticky :003:

I reckon Brewster saw his attempt at crossing the ball from that free kick and then halved the terms he was going to offer Duncan :004:
  7. But that alienates the Thistle fans :015:
  8. So you agree with me then, in the middle of nowhere? :004:
  9. Aberdeen do tend to help us out in that aspect by playing dross like Mair, Clark, Young and Byrne (at left back) so they've held up their end of the bargain.
  10. Isn't Keith nearer to Aberdeen than Inverness? Anyway, Keith is nothing in the grand scheme of things so we may as well "round it up" and say they come from Aberdeen :016: My seat was cold when I got to it on Sunday! Boooooo!

I didn't know there was a game on at Pittodrie tonight. Barely a peep in the local area prior to the match.
  12. Out of sausage rolls before the game even started! It's all Tokelys fault! And those Rangers fans in the Home end! Fat gits! Get a proper catering firm in! Booooooo!
  13. Left sided players play on the right side so they can cut inside the defender and head for the box as opposed to hugging the touchline. It can work for some players but I don't think McBain is direct enough so make it work. Wilson on the left, while sometimes unusual, can have the desired effect.
  14. There were Rangers fans in the Wetherspoons on Church Street selling tickets for the Home end.
  15. That happened on both flanks actually I did notice. Sometimes the wide players did get into space, mainly in the 2nd half, but the ball went the other way and was lost. Wilson seemed to move off his man quite well when he came on I thought. What a boo boy! :016: That's part of Munros job though really. He needs to keep talking to Proctor and letting him know where players are and Proctor does it for Munro as well. I've only seen the goal once on TV and didn't really get a good look at it but it did look like all of the back line looked to the linesman, raised hands waiting/expecting offside but Darchville (sp.?) correctly played on unless the whistle went and he got his reward for it. It's a bit of a cliche but it is also true - we are disappointed losing 1 - 0 Rangers. Says it all really!

I'd need to see it again but I don't think there was any real pressure on him when he fired off the shot. If anything I think he was surprised to find himself in as much space as he did! It's a fair shout for yesterday. Tokely would have seriously outmuscled Les Onions and Proctor would have shackled Burke just as well as Tokely had done if not better. It's all done now but like I say, on the whole, I thought Tokely was fine yesterday. Burke had to resort to blatant cheating to get anything out of him. It was a pretty pathetic sight to see.
  17. What has Rory getting paid to play football and me not getting paid to play football have to do with anything? :017: I simply don't think he is good enough for ICT and there is this riduculous assumption that we should keep giving Player X a chance in case he becomes good. We can't always afford to take that chance and on the back of one goal against a team that were destroyed 9 - 2 people seem to think he is going to come back a vastly improved player. I just cannot see it and I don't why why people do think that. We aren't in the luxury positon of being able to field players in the hope they do the job. We need proven players for us in the SPL. I don't think Rory will do that for us but Alex, in case you think I have some kind of vendetta against Rory, I also don't think that Marcus is the guy to replace Rankin who had showed he had SPL "class". Flipping it round, I see you are writing off Dorrans on another thread while praising Rory saying you think he will make it at the top before Dorrans. I admire your staunch positive attitude but sometimes you appear to be blinded by your faith in ICT to certain players and will always post something positive about them regardless. It goes both ways (if in fact it "goes" at all). If you disagree with me fair enough but your "point" about remembering Rory gets paid to play football has absolutely no credibility about it whatsoever given that, as clacher points out, you also aren't paid to play football.
  18. Blackie was giving him an absolute mouthful last week and today I think Niculae returned the favour :015: I think it's good (to an extent). I'd be worried if the players didn't have a go at each other from time to time.
  19. Maybe the 60 "huns" in the family section were the 60 extra police they drafted in for this game?
  20. Only going on what I was told. Some people seem to be thinking he is going to do a Robson and blast his way into the first team after his loan spell. He was trying really hard in the pre season friendly. He attempted to boot a Heid defender in the balls when he was pushed over at the goal line :015:
  21. Boooooo! :007:
  22. Add Blackie into that as well methinks.... Anyway, I think a lot of what I was going to say has been covered. Our passing and set plays were very poor. Long ball wasn't working. Why persist with it? I thought that when Patti went through on goal and shot I saw the ball hit off an arm (Weir?). Did they show anything in the replay? Marcus just wasn't with it today. Looked well off the pace. Cowie behind Niculae wasn't very effective. Maybe Wyness would have been better? McBain wide right? Not where I would have had him. Fraser did well and had some good saves. Defence was fine on the whole I thought. Seemed pretty strong throughout the game. Just a shame we couldn't unpick the Rangers defence. There seemed to be very little in the way of movement from our guys today. You could see players trying to pick and pass, look up and see no one there. Niculae had that cracking shot McGregor did well to save but I don't think we created enough clear cut chances to get something from the game. Rangers had one or two better chances and eventually took it. Yes it was a sore one but we didn't do the basics right a lot of the time and that is more frustrating than the loss of the late goal to be honest.
  23. Our set pieces today were simply horrible. Rankin often found it hard to get it past the first defender but you knew he would get one good one in. Today no one looked capable of putting in a telling delivery. Hope the lads get some work in on them this week and score 3 against Motherwell from 30 yards out! :001:
  24. Go on....

Yup, I thought he had a good game and Burke had to resort to blatant cheating to get anything out of Tokely. His miss at the end was shocking and because of that it will be the big black mark against his performance.
