  1. We need a new face or two in (at least) but whether we actually get anyone is a different matter. A creative wide man, striker and defender would be excellent.
  2. Allardice signs a contract extension.
  3. F**k me that defence! Proctor, Hogg, Innes and Duff...
  4. "Inverness are struggling to break down the Alloa defence but let me tell what doesn't break down and that's the excellent range of coaches operated by D & E! Give them a call after today's ga....goal for Alloa."
  5. As expected McDaid moves to Partick.
  6. It wasn't a very dynamic team that we had out there on Wednesday. Solid, disciplined and any other bland cliches you can think of yes but a midfield triangle of Vincent, Welsh and Allardice is fine for knocking the ball around and protecting the back four but it won't pick a pass through a tight midfield and unlock a defence. I like Danny Mckay and he took his goal very well but again he isn't a particularly creative wide man. Doran should offer more but it's a big task to ask him to be the main, if not only, creative force in the team. There is a massive Kai Kennedy shaped hole in the team already such was his impact when he was here. At the very least a Tom Walsh type would be very welcome as it would offer some attacking threat on the opposite flank from Doran. No pressure Robbo...
  7. Oooooft! Robbo is absolutely seething. https://www.facebook.com/ICTFC/posts/3912661958758024
  8. Motherwell probably just left him in the car park at the ground for Ross County to collect in the morning.
  9. Part of me wonders if some selections were made with the upcoming rush of games we have. MacGregor not starting was an odd one. Credit should go to Ridgers who pulled off a couple of excellent saves to keep us in it. Overall though still a very rusty and sluggish performance.
  10. Struggling to think of much positive to take from that. It's hard to be too critical given the prolonged break from match action but even so some of the same old faults were evident. The continued softness at defending crosses (from set pieces especially) remains. There was precious little creativity from the wide players and some of the crossing was absolutely woeful. Maybe the heavy pitch didn't help. With a number of games coming up over the next couple of weeks we need to get back up to full speed quickly if we are to take advantage of our games in hand.
  11. You just need to have adequate pitch protection (or something along those lines). You can read more about the pitch issues (even before USH was installed) over the years here: https://www.pitchcare.com/news-media/inverness-caledonian-thistle-football-club-in-deep-water.html

Thanks @FrontRow appreciate that. But if you think he was nervous you should have seen the state of me before we started!

The problem with researching stuff for Wyness was that so many of the internet sources no longer exist especially for his first spell with us. Even when he came back to us details around it are pretty sketchy although there are still some posts on here from 2008 which covered the contract saga which I was able to turn up having recalled the disagreement playing out in the local press at the time. Ian Broadfoot's book "Going Ballistic" was critical to the research of Wyness's earlier years at ICT. Without that we would have been pretty thing on 1999 - 2003 information. If anyone hasn't got a copy yet the club are still selling them for £5. I had to order a replacement copy as I've lost my original signed copy. As for releasing it as a two parter it's not something we think is a good idea on the whole. We did that with the Tremarco and Tansey interview and the second part saw a 30% drop in listeners which was a shame and we were wary of having something similar happen again.
  14. I like McDaid but there's no question he isn't consistent enough. It's all moot as I understand we're not even close to being on his radar. A move to Partick Thistle beckons.

Yeah he fairly opened up as we went on. His recollection of ICT games was really excellent and I was a little sad that we had to end the chat and then had to cut out about 30 minutes to try and get it to a reasonable length!

That's your Wyness pod out now guys. Hope you like it.

We recorded it last night and hopefully I can get it ready for a release over the weekend. At this stage I'd say probably Sunday. Dennis was fantastic to speak to and happily answered anything we threw at him. Very honest and open about his career so hopefully you guys will enjoy it as much as we did!
  18. Don't see too much wrong with that team save for getting Allardice in there instead of Vincent. Allardice has probably been (one of) our best player(s) this season so he has to start if he is fit. Mckay hasn't done that badly at RB though Duffy seems more robust there despite also being a CB by trade. There really is a massive Kai Kennedy shaped hole in the wide areas though. Doran (is he fit?) and Storey as wide men? We need reinforcements in that area for sure.

Cheers for (some of) these questions folks. We've got most of them in the doc in one form or another. 11 pages of questions. Could be a long one...

Nice one @Stirling Observer we've got those added. Cheers!
  21. Not much else going on at the minute in terms of football so nice to have something to talk about even if it might not come to anything
  22. Twitter rumours linking us with Billy Mckay again (snore) if County land Jordan White from Motherwell.

Yeah I don't think we'll be going over that Bavidge incident.

We are very fortunate to be joined by ICT's all time leading scorer Dennis Wyness next week for an exclusive interview! If you have a question for Dennis you want to ask leave it here and we will do our best to ask as many as we possibly can.
