    2017/18 Fixtures

Tram to Edinburgh gateway and change onto a service heading to Montrose then get a bus or taxi to Brechin.
  2. Out now and are of course subject to change as the TV companies still need to select what matches will be shown. Obviously not a massive issue for us normally and even less so this season but some games are still shown on Alba. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/inverness-caledonian-thistle/fixtures We open with Dundee United at home followed by Dunfermline away and Morton at home before a trip to Brechin to round off August. Tough opening set of games. Christmas will see us travel to Morton and Brechin before a New Year "Derby" v Livi.
  3. Can't make out all of the text as the quality is rubbish but the back page of the P & J on Twitter confirms the Ridgers move and apparently means that OFW will be moved on.
  4. I wouldn't expect megabucks fees if we were a Premiership club either.
  5. All the teams in the group have agreed to charge fans the same admission for each of the games. A good move from all the sides. http://www.falkirkfc.co.uk/prices-slashed-for-betfred-cup-fixtures/
  6. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/1269483/shearer-frustrated-did-not-get-face-to-face-meeting-with-caley-thistle/ So folk on here think the appropriate way to tell someone their services are no longer needed is to do it via email and leaving a voicemail rather than have a face to face chat with them? Regardless of how Shearer left the club before two wrongs don't make a right and this is a pretty shoddy way to treat a long serving club employee. Whilst there was a follow up phone call between the chairman and Shearer that doesn't disguise the fact that it was initially handled in a piss poor manner. Yet again the club find themselves having to take corrective action to clear up another PR mistake. We just don't seem to learn.
  7. Irrespective of whether or not we had a development side going into this season to get rid of a long standing employee of the club by email is absolutely scandalous*. *Disclaimer: Again, if this is true.
  8. That's the sole "source". Sadly, as Yngwie points out, it seems Birmingham are ready to listen to offers but apparently it would command a transfer fee of around £150,000. Just a wee bit out of our reach unfortunately!
  9. Have a look 14 posts up.
  10. That's fucking pathetic if that's true. The P & J are also running a story that Danny MacDonald is the new GM.
  11. Excellent prices for the Brechin (and Falkirk) games. Obviously the free entry for ST holders is only for the Brechin game. Good stuff from the club.
  12. Because (some of) these former players are good ones who might be available so they might be considered less of a risky, unknown signing. If we were offered the services of former players like Shinnie x2, Watkins, Christie you'd say no because they were former players? Doubt it. ETA: Just clocked who I was replying too
  13. He was playing at this level last season with Hibs and their fans didn't seem to think much of him a lot of the time. He should come back to a side where he is really appreciated...

    Colt Teams

Were those colt teams in the league taking up promotion slots from other sides? I've zero interest in watching my team play what is ultimately a reserve side in what is meant to be a competitive league.
  15. How many outfield players do we have signed up? Something like ten isn't it with the potential for some to move on (thinking Draper, Fon Williams here). Realistically, Robertson might need to bring in a minimum of 8 players in the next month. Going to be some task to undertake. There's obviously been a lot of chat about "don't go back" when it comes to managers recently but what about players? I wonder if Nick Ross might return to ICT and maybe we could get Storey in on loan from Aberdeen depending on what plays out at Pittodrie in the next few weeks. Fon Williams Raven Mckay Warren Tremarco Polworth Draper Doran Ross Mulraney Storey Sadly I don't think we can rely on Doran being fully fit all the time so we'd need an extra wide player and another midfielder. Whilst we have Boden I think we'd need another striker and an extra defender as well preferably a CB and LB. I would imagine that some signings will be loans of young lads brought in just to pad out the side as well
  16. Go back one page on this thread. Seems to be the only mention. http://caleythistleonline.com/topic/31388-new-manager/?page=19#comment-478191
  17. Stevie Aitken from Dumbarton if he was interested / approached. Anyway, Robbo has been confirmed:
  18. Just came on the post the same link. Fair play to the board for this one. A reduction of all season ticket prices by 10%. There is one home game less this season and this means the average cost per game is now slightly reduced. - good An extension of the 'early bird' and loyalty offer to July 1st - very welcome for those who might need to wait until pay day. Free entry for all Season Ticket Holders to the first game of the season - our League Cup tie at home to Brechin City on July 15th. - good A higher than originally offered discount of 10% on season tickets (for holders) when we return to the Premier League (we acknowledge that there are no guarantees here). - generous and ambitious but can't fault their optimism I suppose! A prize draw for all home league fixtures with the winner and a guest invited as Boardroom guests on match day. - hope caleyboy wins so he can rant about the badge from last season A further draw for each home league fixture with the winner and a guest having corporate hospitality for the day. - good An open day pre season for a chance for season ticket holders to meet with players (current and new), Management and Directors. - good More likely to renew my ticket now ETA: The revised pricing is showing on the e ticketing site by the way if anyone feels more inclined to renew. ETAA: I've renewed on the back of this statement from the club
  19. John Hughes got us into Europe lets get him back and all. Robertson hasn't been in charge of a team in years and possibly hasn't worked at a full time club in over ten years. He's had zero success since he left us. Some of the names banded about recently have been brutal. A bunch of ex ICT players and managers for seemingly no other reason than they used to play for or manage us. If we go back up with him in charge fantastic but I can't help but feel that this is an absolute minter of an appointment. ETA: This, apparently, won't be the last of the 'rewinds' that we will see at the club.
  20. Massively underwhelmed if it is Robertson.
  21. Announcement tomorrow morning...

    Colt Teams

Obviously with everything else that is, or rather isn't going on at ICT it's understandable that this has slipped through the cracks but I see that Doncaster is trying to move forward with the introduction of Colt teams into the SPFL set up: http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/competitions/premiership/spfl-consider-introducing-colt-teams-into-league-system-1-4473517 Initially, Colt teams would start in the Highland or Lowland leagues and, if successful, work their way up the pyramid with a ceiling of League One. All SPFL clubs have been invited to give feedback to the proposal (nice to exclude the Highland and Lowland League clubs from the consultation). I am 100% against the idea of allowing Colt sides into the league set up. As has been pointed out on P & B one of the best things about supporting a lower league side is one day seeing them win the league. Imagine missing out on that because Celtic B win the league ahead of you and, if you are in League One, they can't even go up. It's a fantastic way for Doncaster and his croonies to basically piss off half of the league to appease the blue and green masses in Glasgow. I don't see how it would do anything for the development of these younger players. Playing against League Two opposition isn't going to turn some U21 at Rangers into a world beater. If these players are good enough then they will break into the first team. The simple fact is that a lot of players coming through the youth set ups at some teams simply aren't good enough. Playing against a part time plumber from Elgin isn't going to change this. It's up to the likes of Rangers, Celtic and whoever else to develop and blood their younger players to continue their improvement. Indeed the appearance of Colt teams in the Challenge Cup, branded a success by Doncaster for some reason despite most Colt sides getting pumped out at the second round and rotten crowds present for these games, seems to be a precursor to the inevitable appearance of these sides in the league set up. Sadly it seems, as is almost always the case, that Scottish football is being run for the benefit of two clubs and I'm rapidly approaching the end of my tether with it all. I'm hopeful that ICT will object to these proposals when they feedback to the SPFL.
  23. http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/Ex-Caley-Thistle-stopper-Michael-Fraser-urges-end-to-delay-over-clubs-new-manager-12062017.htm Always thought Fraser was a pretty decent goal keeper for us. According to Wiki he really didn't play that much of the course of his career. Seems a bit of a waste.
