  9. Interestingly as it stands today - this is how the various leagues would look: Rangers Celtic Dundee Utd Motherwell Hibs Hearts St.Johnstone Hamilton Aberdeen St.Mirren Kilmarnock Falkirk - 12 team SPL ICT Dundee - 14 team SPL QoS Ross County - 16 team SPL Dunfermline Partick Thistle - 18 team SPL Quite surprised that the 18 team league actually looks ok but the restructuring of the lower leagues would have to be given a lot of thought in order that the deemed smaller teams (part-time anyway) have the capability to develop and survive in the top tier if they go up. Whatever happens though funding has to go into the game all through the tiers in order to improve stadia facilities etc. The regional leagues below a second division is probably the way forward but again it needs to be well thought out and replicate the type of regional structure they have in Germany and some other european countries. Again this could also bring about the debate of reserve teams playing in the lower league structure. Whatever happens though change is needed.
  10. I wouldn't worry about the 'pool - Man Ure are just not good enough either - its Chelsea's league to lose - they have simply been the best footballing side in the division this year....end of
  11. A 16 team league is a possibility but only if other elements of the game are changed - SPL rules would require to be changed, stadiums would require upgrading and external funding would have to be provided in order that we don't have a situation where there is no promotion because of stadium criteria. This will not be done overnight so the 14 team proposal is a good stepping stone until the scottish game is sorted out with proper restructuring and consolidation. I am not sure if 18 teams will ever be a possibility in the modern game and still retain healthy competition. But which ever way we go will be an improvement as the current situation is not the answer for the future of scottish football as well as the SPL/SFL.
  12. Extremely impressive when you look at what they have done to get there.... QUALIFYING: 29 July 2009 - Q3 L1: FK Vetra 0-3 Fulham 6 Aug 2009 - Q3 L2: Fulham 3-0 FK Vetra (agg 6-0) 20 Aug 2009 - FQ L1: Fulham 3-1 Amkar Prem 27 Aug 2009 - FQ L2: Amkar Perm 1-0 Fulham (agg 2-3) GROUP STAGES: 17 Sept 2009 - Grp E: CSKA Sofia 1-1 Fulham 1 Oct 2009 - Grp E: Fulham 1-0 Basle 22 Oct 2009 - Grp E: Fulham 1-1 Roma 5 Nov 2009 - Grp E: Roma 2-1 Fulham 3 Dec 2009 - Grp E: Fulham 1-0 CSKA Sofia 16 Dec 2009 - Grp E: FC Basle 2-3 Fulham KNOCKOUT STAGES: 18 Feb 2010 - L32 L1: Fulham 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk 25 Feb 2010 - L32 L2: Shakhtar D 1-1 Fulham (agg 2-3) 11 Mar 2010 - L16 L1: Juventus 1-1 Fulham (agg 2-3) 18 Mar 2010 - L16 L2: Fulham 4-1 Juventus (agg 5-4) 1 Apr 2010 - QF L1: Fulham 2-1 Wolfsburg 8 Apr 2010 - QF L2: Wolfsburg 0-1 Fulham (agg 1-3) 22 Apr 2010 - SF L1: Hamburg 0-1 Fulham (agg 1-3) 28 Apr 2010 - SF L1: Fulham 2-1 Hamburg (agg 2-1) For Schwarzer, Greening and Murphy this will be their second european finals although Greening never made the pitch in the 1999 final or any of the previous games in the competition that season (but he did pick up a medal).... Interestingly this will be Murphy's opportunity to pick up a 7th cup winners meadal in his career (if you include the Charity Shield and Super Cup in 2001)....and if I a recall correctly he has won each final he has played in to date....not a bad record at all.... This will be Schwarzer's 5th final but he has not been so successful as Murphy with only one winners medal to date....
  13. It looks like the SPL could at last be set to increase to 14 clubs from season 2011-12 with some sort of relegation play-offs also involved. 14 Team SPL I prefer a 7-7 split to keep it tidy but a 6-8 split means that there are no 'free' weekends and two teams finishing their seasons a week early. Under the current proposal it would mean the top 6 will play 36 matches with the bottom 8 playing 40. I think it is a good situation for both ICT and scottish football. The top 6 becomes a more coveted position as there will be a definite second home game against the old firm (if they are good enough to make the top 6) that will keep the money men at the clubs happy and a 14 team league improves the clubs chances of remaining in the SPL (assuming of course that the team remains strong enough). As we have seen there are several decent clubs in the SFL and the likes of Dundee and Dunfermline would add to the SPL. Also interestingly if this proposal goes through it will effectively mean there will be no relegation from the SPL in 2010-11. Also from a personal point - starting this season live SPL games have been shown on Showtime Sports over here at the weekends so live ICT games will now be available in the Middle East from next season - who would have thought that in 1994.... :cry03: It needs a 11 to 1 vote to succeed and the Old Firm have indicated they are not against change so how do you think ICT will vote?
  14. Bookings are starting to mount now - 8 - might see a red also.... The dreaded extra time away goal might do it again.... :)
  15. Fulham are through to the final and Liverpool have gone to extra time - an all English affair is still possible.... Always think away goals in extra time in a two legged cup competion is an unfair advantage and away goals should only count in the 90 minutes....
  16. Unfortunately I would expect there to be more than Doncaster Rovers in attendance on Saturday.... Rovers have done quite well this season but can't see either heading back south again now they've tasted the north....

  18. I think it is ?350 for the Home Shirt and ?250 for the Away Shirt next season....only a slight increase....
  19. ICT Home Win @ 4/5 - ta
  20. I think there is a clear message in the poll results already.... and if you want to increase merchandising revenue then there is really only one answer.... :D
  21. A little bit of re-venn-gay and a little side bet....
  22. No problem with it at all as it is the national flag of three of our players.... I am sure there are quite a few other national flags we might see on the last day of the season....
  23. ICT Morton (H) - 1-0 WIN Ross County (A) - 0-0 DRAW Airdrie (H) - 4-0 WIN Partick Th (A) - 0-1 WIN Ross County (H) - 3-0 WIN Raith (H) - 4-3 WIN Morton (A) - 0-2 WIN QoS (A) 1-3 WIN Dunfermline (H) 2-0 WIN Ayr (A) 0-7 WIN Dundee (H) Got to keep this going now - 8 wins in a row has equalized our 2002 run in the SFL1 and the current run of 20 undefeated is now our 2nd best ever behind the 22 games in the 96/97 season.... Looking for a 3-2 win against Dundee now....
  24. Good on you....enjoy the concerts.... :D
