  1. Parts of this thread remind me of another footballing rivalry fairy-tale....
  2. ICT away @ 2.10 - ta muchly :D
  3. They play Brazil in a friendly here in Doha in November (most probably at Al Sadd's ground) - that should at least be a decent challenge and yardstick as to how good they may be if they each bring decent squads but more importantly - thankfully I am not in the UK at present as I should imagine the media are on their England will win the world cup crusade already - so only another 8 months of that to go.... :) Re supporting them - nope - nothing against them but all too often they flatter to decieve - how often do you expect England with arguably one of the best squads in the world to perform better. I was at the Euro 2004 game in Lisbon when they blew it and although Capello appears to have strengthened their belief I still expect a repeat performance next summer. If they win it well done to them but they won't.... :022:

  5. Most wins are Falkirk and Airdrieonians with 3 each from 3 finals (100%) and for this season's semi-finals there are 3 previous winners: Dundee (2 final appearances - winners 1990-91 inaugural season - runners-up 1994-95) Annan Athletic (no final appearances) ICT (2 final appearances - winners 2003-04 - runners-up 1999-00) Ross County (3 final appearances - winners 2006-07 - runners-up 2004-05 and 2008-09) For a 3rd division side (and a new league club) Annan have done well to get to the semi-final stage at only their second attempt and have got a good draw away to Dundee. Here's hoping we can make our third final appearance.... :022:
  6. Well done young man - who knows we might even see him back at TCS one day in blue and red in the SPL.... Ross County's Iain Vigurs has been named young player of the month for August in the Scottish Football League. The 21-year-old midfielder received the Irn Bru award after helping County win five and draw one of their seven league and cup games during the month. It culminated with a 3-1 win for the Dingwall side away to neighbours Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Vigurs scored the second goal in a win that took County into third place in Division One. Source: BBC Sport Linky Linky PS - Harkins (Dundee) got player of the month and Chisholm (QoS) received the manager of the month award
  7. Great draw for the coffers (and local interest) - and a wee bit of re-venn-gay - and maybe even a final out of it :018:

  10. Get tired of this! There is a finite space, two ways out, the busiest trunk road in the Highlands mobbed on the busiest shopping day of the week and our busiest crowd of the season. Most if not 95% of clubs don't give a toss if you have somewhere to park your car or not and leave you with the entire problem. Our club do far more than most and still get slaughtered. Leave the car and walk. Get a bus. Cycle. Get a lift. Camp. Don't take your car as you will be on here moaning! Good points but not the issue - watch this space Sauted B)
  11. I can assure you all - he will definitely not be in the team next weekend? :024: :023: :D :D
  12. Looks like Adams was right as most of them didn't turn up for yesterday's game.... Division One preview: Inverness CT v Ross County Aug 29 2009 Alasdair Fraser Source: Daily Record TERRY BUTCHER believes Derek Adams is on a different planet if he believes Caley Thistle's English players are not prepared for today's derby. The Inverness boss accused his rival of talking as if the summer signings had just arrived from outer space. Butcher brought in four young players from south of the border in the summer - Robert Eagle, Daniel Stratford, Jonny Hayes and Lee Cox. All have quickly become first-team regulars along with Spaniard Danni Sanchez and Latvian Nauris Bulvitis. Adams will field 10 Scots and a Northern Irishman as hostilities resume after a fiveyear gap. The County boss suggested Caley Thistle's new group might well be caught unawares but Butcher hit back:"They are not a bunch of aliens who have just landed in a space rocket. "They are very much aware of what it means to play for Caley Thistle. :024: "We've already had some good games. Last week was a massive game at Dundee as was Dunfermline away. We also played Dundee United in preseason when the pace was good and the opposition strong. "All these factors mean our lads' brief experience in Scot-land has been good preparation for what they will encounter on Saturday. "Even the aliens who have landed here live in Inverness. They speak to fans and know what it means "There will be enormous passion and noise and a responsibility comes with the expectation. "But it's still a game of football with 11 against 11.We've looked at their team and how we can beat them. "It's also a game where the occasion takes over. The players will know what it's all about as soon as they step out there." Butcher is no stranger to big derby games given his years at Ipswich Town and Rangers. He added: "Personally, I can't say what the derby will be like because I've never experienced this one. Every one has its own character. "I've played in a few tasty ones myself but this could be totally different. I'm looking forward to seeing it. "A lot of our players haven't played in this particular derby before. but the ones who have - like Ross Tokely, Grant Munro, Russell Duncan and Roy McBain - they know what it's all about." But the problem is they weren't playing Tel :023:
  13. Unfortunately I am afraid you will be shocked a few more times before this season is over
  14. Heard he was a liabilty today also but unfortunately by the sounds of it he was not alone
  15. I heard that it was chaotic today - overcrowded and no car parking spaces available to regulars - another case of the club must do better
  16. Duncan ON - last throw of the dice
  17. Raith now 2-0 up against 10 men Dunfermline
  18. 1-2 HAYES
  19. Oh no and an ex-Jaggie at that - 0-2
  20. Sounded like a fairly ineffective 1st half from ICT - let's see what Terry and Maurice can do at half-time to shake them up and get them going forward a lot more 2nd half

  23. Saw them at Maine Road many moons ago (no pun intended) and at Glasto in the early 90s - were good but they have been reguritating the same old stuff for too many a year now - no loss - and maybe now some of the original creativity might return B)
  24. Morton AWAY @ 3.60 - ta muchly
