  3. You beat me to that alert Scotty.....either way we should get them signed up....
  4. 1. Fish 2. Cause they are always in a school
  5. Indeed a great match and the atmosphere was electric. Even now it is still up there among the best games I have been to for atmosphere (and the right result): 1. Liverpool 5 Alves 4 (2001, Westfalenstadion, Dortmund) 2. Inverness Thistle 3 Kilmarnock 0 (1985, Kingsmills Park, Inverness) 3. Portugal 2 England 2 (pens 6-5) (2004, Estadio da Luz, Lisbon) Here's hoping we get a Scottish Cup Final game that can challenge those :-)
  6. Blimey, what were the chances of that? ....and hopefully the opportunity for a decent crowd as we try and make it Scottish Cup semi-final #3....
  7. According to blog site trivia Dundee Utd will now play Celtic on three consecutive weekends in three different competitions at three different venues
  8. It is 30 years ago today (9th February 1985) during the playing of the 100th Scottish Cup that Inverness Thistle beat Kilmarnock 3-0 at Kingsmills Park in the third round. This is still looked upon by Kille fans as their biggest Scottish Cup defeat and so maybe the club could put a little reminder of it in the programme for the home game against Killie on the 21st February to mark the milestone (for historical purposes only). In a nod to this season's Scottish Cup - that same year in the 2nd Round Thistle beat Spartans 2-1 away after a 1-1 draw at Kingsmills Park. Caley defeated Berwick Rangers 3-0 in a 2nd replay after 1-1 and 3-3 draws. Therefore it would be fiiting that today's Scottish Cup draw paired us against the winners of the Berwick Rangers/Spartans tie. This would allow the club and the media (ok - maybe not the BBC) to reflect on how far we have come in such a short time.
  9. Not the first time that they played somebody who won a European Final in the 1970s though....
  10. Where did the red and green colour combination come from? Highland Rugby Club also have the same combo. Is it just a coincidence or was there once a connection?
  11. Not what I was thinking of but near enough....
  12. Indeed - 6/4 away win - you should have taken it ;-)
  13. I recall seeing old photos that showed horse and cart taxis outside the station - must have been pre 1920s.

  15. Then and now.... The broadstone is still there though.... Broadstone Park takes its name from a broad circular stone, with a hole in the centre of it, which now lies under the pavement or footpath on the East side of Kingsmills Road, in front of the large tenement house opposite the Football Field. 16. What was their slogan 'Come home to a real fire'?
  17. Inverness Thistle v Buckie Thistle 1951 - nice to see the main advertisers don't change much
  18. Is this lad still available (and he's Scottish)?
  19. I wouldn't rule it out totally. Rory Loy like Mckay's contract is up at the end of the season. Falkirk may deal at lower price and the money received for Mckay could be put into purchasing Loy. From Falkirk FC web-site The Club can confirm they have turned down an improved offer for the services of striker Rory Loy from Hamilton Academical. Director Ronnie Bateman told the Official Website that they had considered the offer carefully but it was not in line with the Club’s current valuation of the player. Bateman added, “We also took into consideration the contribution the player might make to our quest for promotion and success in Scottish Cup games.” For once though some money being spent in the Scottish game between Scottish Clubs....Aberdeen it appears do actually think they are a big club....
