IAN BLACK ?
What I was objecting to was you linking the Ian Black issue to league position and loss of revenue. He has only missed one game, where we played OK without him, and, unless he doesn't play again all season, and we lose the majority of our last six games, then I would maintain there is no validity in this argument. So , despite your poor attempt at sarcasm, you haven't cleared anything up for me. The Ian Black issue in question comes as a direct result of Brewsters poor relationships with various players who are considered to be the core of the current ICT first team. This issue in particular is just the latest in a long line of these scenario's. This, whether you like it or not has been/is detrimental to our league position and therefore and money we recieve at the end of the season. I sincerely hope that this clearly pressing matter is cleared up for you. :014:

On the other hand, can we afford not to? If the manager is seen to be weak in a case like this and gives in to a player, only total anarchy will result. It is a matter of principle, not the ease or affordability of replacing the player. With regard to the league position/losing money situation which you brought up, may I remind you this thread is about Ian Black. Unless you are suggesting that we would have won the game with Aberdeen with Black in the side (and there is little evidence to support that, given the energy and determination shown against Aberdeen, as compared with the few games immediately before with Black in the team), then the your rant about Brewster's arrogance is off topic for this thread. So the whole point of your argument against me here is based on if the manager is only seen to be a weak link? The manager is a weak link here, given everything else that has gone on recently, I'd far rather keep Black at ICT than Brewster. Brewster is only doing more harm than good. Refer to RiG's post above for the relevance of league position/losing money, it has everything to do with this thread but thankyou for flagging a potential issue there, glad I could clear it up for you. :003:

IAN BLACK ?
Very well put. And the Fergie example which one or two posters have jumped on was to indicate he would not tolerate indiscipline from any of his stars, no matter who. Nothing to do with his ability to go out and buy replacements. As stated above, within ICT's budget there are players out there who could replace Black, if he does go in the end. Incidentally, I hope he doesn't, but that he comes up with the requested apology, and gets on with things. It's not very well put at all! The reason it's not very well put is because the Fergie example cannot be applied to our situation. Fergie has the influence, contacts and means to be able to make examples of his stars like that. We on the other hand cannot afford to! One of the statto's can fill you in on how much per league position we are losing at the moment because of Brewsters arrogance.

"When he was sacked from DUFC he claimed that certain players there had made life for him extremely difficult." I read that as I had to leave because no one had confidence in me.

He will apologise, but at what cost? If it were me, I'd be looking for a new employer. Totally unprofessional behaviour from Brewster. How on earth is dropping someone who is ment to have said he doesn't want to play for him unprofesional? You can't have a player dictating what is done in a team otherwise you get the BF effect that happened with Rangers. Christ look at the Beckham/Van Nistelroy example used above. You're looking at this from the wrong perspective. Put yourself in exactly this position. You are asked for a frank and honest opinion at your place of work for how you feel things are or whatever it was Brew asked. You give exactly what is asked for, a frank and honest repsponse. You are immediately told to fetch a mop and bucket and start mopping floors instead of doing what you normally do. You are then told that in order to get back to your normal duties, you will have to apologise not only to the manager, but to your fellow employee's? If you think that's fair enough, then thats your opinion. I for one would be out of there as fast as I could.

IAN BLACK ?
I have felt the need to do this before but I am so angry at the moment I think an email illustrating exactly how I feel about the goings on at the moment to Savage or someone at least on the BoD is needed. There are only two problems in doing this; 1) I do not know an email address I could send an email to that would actually get read. 2) Supposing I did send off an email, yes it might well get read, but would anything get f*cking done about it?! :008:

How can he have got this right, when all Black has done is give an honest opinion at request. Put yourself in that position, and tell me you wouldn't feel hard done by for doing as you were asked?

:007: I genuinely fear the worst while Brewster is at the helm. Our club is going down the tubes and there's feck all we can do about it!

Team for Gretna
And also points taken off everyone elses tally except for Dundee Utd who will be the biggest benficiaries of this. Basically it wont matter a jot if we get deducted our points.

Team for Gretna
Indeed, looking at it again, it does seem a bit poor. Presumably players will have sport insurance for this purpose though so I doubt he'll be out of pocket. Doesn't excuse Gretna's handling of the situation...

I was under the impression that Yantorno requested to be released? :024:

Agree with Starchief. Black is definately not an attacking midfielder. Rankin and Cowie are attacking midfielders.

Team for Gretna
AFAIK they are not closed yet. That report is really just on the SPL holding "crisis talks" should Gretna go under.

IAN BLACK ?
I assume that's directed at me? It's no secret the players I don't really rate are Tokely, McGuire, Duncan and Bayne. Players I do like... Marius Niculae has been a breath of fresh air, he just isn't put to his best possible uses by Brewster. Cowie is an exceptional talent, as was Rankin and Dargo when we still had them. I don't "slag" players. I give criticism where it is due.

IAN BLACK ?
The fact that 9/10 times he couldn't hit a coo on the erse with a banjo?... Put simply, he's just not very good. Yes he's doing an unglamourous job and largely goes unnoticed, but look at how McBain performed put in exactly that role on Saturday...
-
IAN BLACK ?
Yes but saying he can GTF is a bit extreme. Black playing poorly still makes him 10 times the player Russell Duncan ever will be!

Where was Bayne yesterday?
It's about fecking time we stopped playing him. Yes he gives a lot of effort, but effort does not win games. County next season I hope.
