1. just wait till Gringo finds this thread .... a real ale pub and an awayday to ICT all in one trip !!! Just needs to take his motorbike and find a nice canal walk and he's set ! PS .... hope the new landlord found the Toronto FC scarf i left behind the bar and considers hanging it up with any ICT memorabilia that may still be there !!!
  2. I would go with mistake .... his loan ended earlier than others so the 3rd party company that supplies those stats probably just forgot to take him off ....
  3. yes, votes can be retracted and changed. There is an option to 'delete my vote' after voting and I can edit the poll to add names as they become available. Bear in mind however that the likes of Adam Rooney were fully sponsored last season so those sponsors get first choice. Even though Duff has not yet signed a deal, his sponsorship options were listed so I assume from that that Adam's sponsors have said "yes" to continuing if he signs.
  4. Innocent until proven guilty and all that ..... If Hearts sacked him for being charged with a crime then they might have been on a sticky wicket in terms of employment laws. However, IMHO, they should have torn up his contract the second he pled guilty. There are some crimes that are forgivable...we can all do stupid things and have a price to pay if we get caught doing them. There are also more serious crimes where you can say you are "going through a learning curve" and after accepting your punishment you will aim to be better and not do it again. However, IMHO, crimes against children do not fall into either of those categories where I would be willing to forgive and forget. Children lose their innocence all too soon these days and anyone seeking to hasten that process or to use their social standing (ie. professional footballer) in this manner is just scum, pure and simple. To their credit, most Hearts fans want rid of him too !
  5. But who would lace them? I like the idea of sponsoring these for just that reason ..... great one-liner !
  6. I have added a poll to the thread listing the current options available. Please only vote if you have indicated you will be taking part. When we tally up the votes, any that are from unpaid users will be discarded.
  7. just a note for clarification for anyone thinking of paying via PayPal ... you do NOT need a paypal account to pay the sponsorship. Payment can be made via valid credit/debit cards directly to the paypal account. According to the Paypal FAQ .... PayPal accepts the following cards: * Visa / Delta / Electron * MasterCard / Eurocard * PayPal Top Up Card * Maestro * American Express Debit cards (also known as bank cards) are accepted if they have a Visa or MasterCard logo.
  8. Whats available ......... ROSS TOKELY BOOTS STUART DUFF HOME SHIRT / TRAINING KIT / BOOTS JONNY HAYES TRAINING KIT JONNY TUFFEY HOME SHIRT / AWAY SHIRT / BOOTS GAVIN MORRISON TRAINING KIT / BOOTS SHANE SUTHERLAND HOME SHIRT / TRAINING KIT / BOOTS GRAEME SHINNIE BOOTS KENNY GILLET HOME / TRAINING / BOOTS GREG TANSEY AWAY SHIRT / TRAINING GREGORY TADE AWAY SHIRT / TRAINING / BOOTS TOM ALDRED HOME SHIRT / AWAY SHIRT / TRAINING / BOOTS + any new signings ..... Suggest we perhaps look at Shanes home top (first), then if we raise enough, Gavin's training kit and a.n.other. away kit ..... The prices are:- Home £350 plus VAT Away £250 plus VAT Training & Boots £100 plus VAT
  9. based on our last discussion on this matter towards the end of the season, I think that was the general feeling of the majority ..... once I know who is available we will allow those who have paid for sponsorship to submit a vote for one of the available players. Highest total wins !!!
  10.
PLAYER SPONSORSHIP: 2011-12 Season

Player we are sponsoring - Looks like it will be SHANE SUTHERLAND (based on Poll results so far). Other sponsorships will depend on the level of "membership" the "Player Sponsor" group reaches.

The cost to sponsor a player is as follows:

Home Shirt = £350 +vat (£420 total)

Away Shirt = £250 +vat (£300 total)

Training Kit= £100 +vat (£120 total)

Boots = £100 +vat (£120 total)

To take part in this sponsorship you will need to upgrade your site membership to the "Player Sponsor" group. We in turn will use all money collected from memberships of this group to purchase player sponsorships from the club. The cost to join this group is £10.00 (+75p fee if subscribing online) but as many users have expressed a wish to contribute more than the minimum requirement for sponsorship you may also opt to purchase double (£20 +fee) or triple (£30 +fee) membership too ..... (if you want more than triple membership, please send me a PM).

To join the group simply choose "Purchase a Paid Subscription" on your profile or click here and then choose the appropriate option. : http://community.cal...p=subscriptions (Those who have already paid will be added to the Sponsor group manually).

All our site membership upgrades are handled securely via Paypal which will accept direct payment from the majority of credit/debit cards so it should be easy enough to upgrade your membership whether you live in Sneck or somewhere thousands of miles from there.

Should you prefer to join the group manually, you have a couple of different options. We have made arrangements with Senior Moderator TM4TJ (themann4thejob) and with Site Member Caley100 (Richard) to accept payments in person at the Innes Bar during pre-match / pre-season gatherings, alternatively you may also pay L_G (Laura) at the Club Shop at the stadium. If you join the group using this method, we will add you to the sponsor group manually - just make sure you tell one of them your site username if they dont already know it !

Once we know how many members have joined the group, we will make a decision on what gets sponsored. The first item will be the selected player's Home Kit ... but the more members who upgrade to "Player Sponsor" membership, the more we can sponsor. At the end of the season, members of our sponsor group will be selected at random to receive any gifts we may receive from the club ......

If you are interested, please add your name to this thread or go ahead and join the sponsor group. You will be marked as once we confirm payment received via membership upgrade or more traditional means ....

<td 11. Sorry this is a little late, but just to let everyone know we DO hope to sponsor a player again this year but the arrangements will be a little different. After 8 years of valiantly organising and collating the yearly player sponsorship, Kay (Guzz) has (reluctantly) decided she is unable to continue organising it. Nothing sinister in all this, just personal priorities and other things that must take precedence. I want to take this opportunity to thank Kay publicly for taking up the reins of organising this sponsorship when I moved across the pond ... I know full well its not the easiest of tasks !!! Kay will endeavour to get the results of last year's sponsorship up on the site as soon as possible and to let the winners know what they got. Moving forward, it seems that things will now come full circle .... After giving up the organisation of the sponsorship in 2003, I will once again take up those reins and with the help of PayPal, CaleyD (oops, havent told him this yet), and perhaps one or two of the mods we should be able to keep it going in as efficient a fashion as it has run for the last 10+ seasons. I will add a thread to this forum later with our normal style of paid/unpaid list and given that our main sponsorship last season was Grant Munro, will speak to the club about which players are available. We can then hold a poll to see which player(s) we will sponsor out of those who are available. 100% of the money taken in will go to sponsorship, so the more we raise, the more we will sponsor, just like previous years, and also like previous years, CTO will, within reason, pick up any shortfall when we have reached one sponsorship goal but not quite reached the next one.
  12. Folks - this is the update to current contract status thread .... don't hijack it to discuss how good (or bad) other signings have been in the past, please start your own thread !
  13. Toronto FC had a pink shirt a couple of seasons ago (for 2 seasons actually). It was officially the 3rd kit and was produced to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer
  14. better pictures here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/photos-of-vancouver-rioting/article2062983/ http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/embarrassment-shame-in-aftermath-of-vancouver-riot/article2062706/ http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/facing-down-vancouvers-rioters-this-is-my-neighbourhood/article2063031/ They also riot in Montreal after certain sporting losses but they are used to it there !!!! Toronto sports fans dont riot .... We havent got to the final of anything major in years so have probably forgotten how ..... well unless you count the G20 riots last year but a lot of that was attributed to the oxymoron that is "organised anarchy groups". ! There's gonna be a lot of arrests in the days and weeks to come .... all those "brave" folks in various pictures and/or videos who are looting, rioting, burning or turning over cars etc will be identified and there will be a knock (or a battering ram) at their door when the police come to invite them for a quick chat !!!!!! And before SP asks ..... didnt watch the game, was too busy watching TSN where TFC were playing New England in a 0-0 draw.
  15. just an update ..... Fixtures will be supplied to clubs (and other license holders) at 8AM (UK time) tomorrow morning with a publishing embargo to 9AM. This (presumably) allows clubs to get the details typed into a story or fixture list page in time for the 9am deadline. Our fixture license - as an authorised 'fan' site - allows us to display only ICT fixtures not everyone else's in our fixture list. As 9AM UK time is 4AM Toronto time, I do not know when we will have them up on the site ... perhaps Don will have time to add them, I dont know. However, as with every year, I know the temptation for some will be to go to another site, copy them and then cut and paste these within the boards ..... PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. Our license does not allow us to display them and we have no option but to delete posts that break our license terms. If you must be the first one to display a list .... please make it easy on us all and just post a link to a site like BBC or SKY or somewhere like that which will have permission to display fixtures of multiple clubs. Thank You in advance !
  16. no embargo ! neither Charles Bannerman, the BBC, the rest of the media, the clubs, or other sites who are licensed to display fixtures (eg. CTO) get sent them any more than an hour or two (if that) before they are allowed to be displayed !
  17. Scotty posted an article in News 2011-12
Caley Thistle are in for a busy spell of pre-season activity with eight games now lined up and confirmed. Operations director Kenny Cameron said: "They are all away from home because of the substantial works undertaken on the pitch during the close season. Contracts have been signed this week for the three games in England." But it is a much shorter trip to Grant Street Park which is our curtain raiser, facing our Highland League neighbours Clachnacuddin on Monday, June 27, [7:30pm ko] followed by a game at Forres Mechanics on Wednesday, June 29 [7:30pm ko] Elgin City, who gave a very gallant display against us in the Scottish Cup last season, will be the next port of call for Terry Butcher's troops on Saturday, July 2 [3:00pm ko]. Livingston, newly promoted to the First Division, will host Caley Jags on Saturday, July 9. [3:00pm ko]. Then skipper Richie Foran and the players head over the border. We play Yeovil Town at Huish Park on Tuesday, July 12, [7:30pm ko] followed by Bristol Rovers at Bath City FC's ground on Thursday, July 14 [7:30pm ko]. The English safari concludes with a game at Aldershot Town FC on Saturday, July 16, [3:00pm ko]. Back home, we play at Buckie Thistle on Tuesday, July 19, [7:30pm ko] in aid of charities associated with five year old brain tumour victim Daniel Strong.
  18. I hate 1 year deals too. basically means they are no better than 5 month deals and we have to start looking at contracts in December when the talk turns to pre-contracts and speculation for any of our players who are performing well. I understand that we have to cut the cloth to suit, that relegation is a constant spectre, and that SPL re-organisation will still rear its head in some form or another, but surely there must be a mutually agreeable method of coming up with contracts that deal with relegation should it happen or that also give both the player and the club options they can exercise ..... I would suggest we should - at a minimum - be offering all of those players we wish to keep a 2 (or 3) year deal but to protect the club we build a relegation wage decrease into the contract. However, to protect the player, we also insert a clause that allows them to walk away from that second (or third) year if another club comes in, pays a reasonable transfer fee (for sake of argument, equivalent to perhaps a year's salary) and matches or betters their wages from the year before. Seems simple ? maybe too simple ?
  19. Press release now on main site with confirmed dates. http://caleythistleonline.com/
  20. and every one of them a regurgitation of the earlier stories ... none of them have any club confirmation as the club cannot confirm it ... yet !!!!
  21. I guess once the club have read tomorrows Courier they'll soon confirm it. Myself, Govan Jaggie and Red Card are going down for Bristol. We were going to get in touch with you once it's properly confirmed. I believe Plymouth is cancalled though? GJ was saying something about a tent as well lol I am planning all three games but that may not be the case for the others. Once it's confirmed i'll speak to them about what's what. As much as the club would love to publish the pre-season friendlies ASAP, the simple fact is that they are not doing so until everything has been confirmed. The very last quote above shows a perfect example of why !!!! the Plymouth game that was bandied around is indeed cancelled as far as I know and we are playing Aldershot instead because they also had their game against Bournemouth cancelled. Think there is some tournament featuring those two and other teams which clashed with our fixtures. We are also not going to Ireland as was reported in the media !!!! To the best of my knowledge, the fixtures are: 12th July @ Huish Park Vs Yeovil 14th July @ Twerton Park (Bath City ground) Vs Bristol Rovers 16th July @ EBB Stadium Vs Aldershot Town
  22. You can say <insert media outlet here> reported it and choose from many who have, but the simple truth of the matter is that whilst TB may have spoken to him (as he is free to do) the actual contract cannot have been signed (until July 1st) and the club will not confirm it until it has been. We can bitch and moan at the club being slow as much as we like, but in this instance - and the English tour - they are choosing not to officially announce anything until its actually official !!!!!
  23. The club have not indicated anything about him signing .... checked back on the official website and can only see 3 articles relating to signings so far ... 1 talks of "being patient", waiting until 9th June when signings can be made officially in Scotland (between clubs internally), the second talks of Tade signing (after 9th june and an internal Scottish transfer), and the third talks of Tokely signing on for a year. Nothing about Tansey actually signing. The Courier have carried an article about his twitter comment and what I believe to be an erroneous comment about an Irish tour that is not happening. They followed that up by tagging on a comment in a later article mentioning Tade by saying he is the second to sign for the club - after Tansey - but again, no official confirmation of anything other than Tade and Tokely. Havent checked P&J but unless there are some direct comments from Butcher/Malpas then the same applies.
  24. He has stated his intention to sign, that is all. Clubs in England tend to give their players contracts that expire on 30th June and the window opens for them on July 1st so they still hold his registration. sounds like his club are still trying to drum up interest from within England to make him change his mind and sign for a club down there. If he did, they would be due some money. If he bides his time and signs for us, they get nothing.
