I just want to make a general public comment on the match previews and the reports ...... EXCELLENT For many years I wrote reports myself, badgered others into writing them, or used the official reports or newspaper reports to cobble something together. However, in the last year and a bit TM4TJ has taken on the role of "editor-in-chief" and brought together a small team of site members to provide these previews/reports. The job they have done so far has been immense and what they produce is consistently done to a very high standard that rivals and often betters the somewhat dry reports in the traditional media. Where else could you get football fans writing in so many different styles (Shakespeare, McGonigall, or just as a fan) and with wit, humour, and even honesty when predicting a hard game for our beloved Caley Jags. Tremendous job all round. This is the essence of what this site should be about ... yes its a place for debate and opinion, yes it will have some arguing, but there is also room for more people to become involved if they want to ... writing reports, producing one-off articles, helping us with stats and other such stuff .... I know TM4TJ and his team have set the bar high, but if anyone is out there thinking, "I would like to try" then please dont hesitate to contact one of the mods or admins to put yourself forward for some form of contribution .....

We got through that 5 minutes before half-time without losing a goal so all bodes well. Happy for Shane, his first ICT goal and it sounded like a cracker.

For what its worth ... and to answer the question posed in the original post, NO, I do not believe they have taken us as far as they can. They were heroes last season and for most of this season so far ..... so we have lost a few games, and the manner in which we have lost may not be pleasant but its way too early for this Brewsteresque shoe-waving rhetoric. However, I am not going to give the OP a red dot as its a valid topic on a valid subject and although I disagree with the content, the post itself is a valid opinion and question. Where I do take issue though is the comments I quoted above !!! This is something that has been thrown at me (or more specifically the site) for the past seventeen years !!! "Ach I dont go there,its full of neggy b******s", "Nahh, too many folk who are quick to criticise", "cant be a**** getting into an argument", "I hate you, you fat b******" (oops, that last one wasnt meant to get in there !!!! just a little bit of self-deprecating humour so you know I am not offended, just frustrated at the usual excuses !!!) My answer now is the same as it has been for each and every one of those seventeen years ..... If you dont post because of the negativity (or crap), do you not think it somewhat hypocritical to post negativity about the site itself ? I always tell people the same thing ..... if you want it to be full of more positive posts, and you have a positive attitude, then instead of bitching and moaning about the perceived negativity of the site, come in and contribute rather than reading the posts and being negative about the site yourself. There is plenty of room for a multitude of opinions be they positive, negative or somewhat neutral .... some of us can actually hold a reasoned debate and even respect opinions we may not necessarily agree with ... and hell, you can even choose to be anonymous and hide behind a pseudonym if you want !

We also played 'hoof ball' long before Butcher arrived too .... Many of us have believed for years that ICT have always been a better team when we play the ball on the deck and I stand by that remark. I said it when we were in D3, D2, D1 and the SPL and I would say it now ! We have always seemed to have some decent ball players and it made for entertaining football when we tried to do just that - play football !!! but any time our players seem under pressure, and I would say its probably a trait in other teams too, we revert to route 1 hoofball and thats never pretty to watch .... In all our existence perhaps only Bobby Mann made 'hoofball' a viable tactic given that he could accurately ping a ball 50 yards to the head or feet of his chosen player. the rest of the time it was hit and hope or 'get that ball the **** out of here'. In contrast, dont we all remember fondly those games where Barry Wilson or Barry Robson (and now Jonny Hayes) performed some wing wizardry, or where the likes of Charlie Christie bossed the midfield with skill and talent ........

Live broadcast of matches within the UK from 3PM - 5PM on a Saturday is subject to a UEFA blackout. Overseas viewers can see it though. UK viewers can still subscribe and watch it later, or watch live games at other times that are not part of a TV blackout period. Didnt bother with the TV pictures as I was multi-tasking a few other things but glad to hear it went well, even if the result didnt.

Seat Cushions are excellent ...... if used responsibly :twothumbsup: Gratuitous Toronto FC link ...... TFC gave away 20,000 seat cushions for our game against Chicago in May 2007. Although there was a midweek home game earlier that week, this game at the weekend was the official "Home Opener" for the club. The team had not won a game up to that point, had not even scored a goal ... but in the 24th minute, Danny Dichio sorted that out and about half of the seat cushions given out to fans were launched - frisbee style - onto the park. It was one of the best bits of footballing fun I ever had especially as TFC went on to win 3-1 !!! I managed to grab two seat cushions that day as the seat next to me was empty so I launched one and the other is in my memorabilia cabinet at home ..... look for it on youtube somewhere, its great fun !
