  1. Well, there was that one incident  ..... but in general, yes, he let his football do the talking. He also endeared himself to a lot of fans outside L.A. when he let it be known he wasnt really fond of Landon Donovan who had been bad mouthing him while he was gone !!! Most fans in MLS, and the Canadian ones in particular loathe Donovan with a passion.
  2. In the All-Star game that was how it was ... he was pinging balls 50 or 60 yards virtually to the exact toenail of the player he wanted it to go to and his vision seemed to be inspiring to those around him - who were in some cases equally talented. He also did a lot of running in that game and generally played a midfield general sort of role. I was impressed and celebrity or not I would love to see him in a Toronto strip before he retires (but thats never going to happen, especially if he buys into Montreal Impact for their MLS bid).
  3. The crap has been deleted from this thread and the instigator banned from it (just to reinforce his own self-imposed ban from the topic). I am sure the comments were meant as tongue in cheek but tongue in cheek or not it still wastes my valuable time deleting them and adjusting others.
  4. Hibs ..... so that County dont get through and potentially eclipse our two semi-final appearances by going one better on the other hand, I can see the merit in both Dundee and County getting through as it puts more strain on their squads for league business .....
  5. I saw Beckham play in the MLS All-Star game Vs West Ham which was held in Toronto in 2008 and I must say I was definitely impressed. He may not be as young as he once was but he was clearly one of the best players on the pitch and his vision in that game - played at a slightly higher effort level than a friendly - showed his class. DC may say he is over-rated and that may be true as far as the UK press is concerned, but that night I went from being one of the "so what" brigade to definitely being aware that I had witnessed a quality player strutting his stuff and being appreciative of his abilities if not the hype surrounding them..
  6. closed for that reason. suggest we all butt out of this and leave the OP to deal with the finance company and/or the club privately.
  7. Obviously there are limitations on what we can be told (or post) due to the data protection act but I did a little digging on this and it would seem that the person in question has been written to on at least 3 occasions by the credit company. The address they have on file is the same address that ICT have and ICT have confirmed today that the person still lives there ......... so it seems there are a fair few porkies flying around in this unexpected season ticket snatch and they arent coming from the stadium !
  8. Devil's Advocate question - how would this thread have read three or four months ago? I can tell you that my answer would have been the same ! Whilst I can go off on a rant with the best of them at times, I do believe I give credit (no pun intended) where and when it is due and criticise for the same reasons .... In a perfect world we would be praising the team and the board all the time ... lets hope we can get there one day ! Back to this thread now .... Having dealt with credit agreements for a significant portion of my working life, I know that the vendor is basically out of the loop once the agreement is signed ... the credit company pay the vendor in full less any fees or commissions and their involvement is then over. The financial transaction and payment agreement is solely between the finance company and the customer. I can think of no finance company that doesn't send letters when payments are missed and surprised it took 5 months to come to a head. ICT would have been under no obligation to confiscate the book but its a bit like retaining someone's credit or debit card when the banks ask you to do so or when it comes up on your computer terminal during a credit check or financial transaction ... its a business courtesy. There is no pleasant way to retain "property" that someone believes belongs to them but actually belongs to someone else (be it a card, a season ticket, or even things like cars or houses) and confrontation and emotion are then virtually guaranteed ... the OP is obviously displaying this in the thread but as has been said by others the OP needs to look at where his fault also lies.
  9. Agree with Birdog here .... credit agreements usually mean that the vendor offering them (in this case ICT) get paid up front by the credit company and the "debt" becomes that of the finance company. The finance company have likely contacted ICT to say that this ticket is invalid.
  10. Raith 2-1 up on County :D
  11. Rooney scores and Raith equalise : exquisite :D
  12. airdrie 1 up on Pars
  13. sorry, have no way to check from over here during my work day (streaming audio blocked). just loaded up my generic template for matchday thread and left links in just in case. have marked them as non-operational for tonight. MFR updates in between normal programming sounds like the best bet other than text updates.

  15. If you look at the comments in this thread which are predominantly positive about Kenny and then contrast that against the opinions posted in previous months/years by some of those same posters who have been highly critical of the club (regardless of whether in your eyes that criticism is justified or not), and then add to that the fact that the board are happy to see his re-appointment then you cant fail to see that this is a positive appointment that has the potential to kick-start communication and other processes that will move us forward and also begin to heal some festering wounds between club, board and fans. I feel even more positive news will not be long in coming :)
  16. All we can ask of any man is that he will try to do his best. I personally have faith in Kenny to do just that. He may not be able to do everything we ask, and he may not agree with everything we want if it is unrealistic, but one thing I can guaranteee is that he will listen and he will call it like he sees it. He will also rattle a few cages along the way. Kenny has always had an eye on communication with the support, and if you are in the right he will say so even if it makes him unpopular with some. He's not there to curry favour, he is there to move ICT forward and although it may be heaping a bit of pressure on him, I am confident he will restore some of the faith I too have lost in those making decisions at ICT.
  17. whilst that may be true, and I agree that its a good idea personally, the TVs would be supplied by ICT as part of the infrastructure of the stadium and therefore is for another discussion, not a discussion that is specifically about Lindley. If someone wants to start another thread about this kind of thing, fair enough, but as noted in the original post we are keeping this discussion intentionally narrow and on topic.
  18. I have deleted the 3 comments regarding TV monitors showing the game because they are topic drift. TV monitors have nothing to do with the service of catering provided by Lindley and although it is an excellent idea, floated in the past, it is an idea for general improvements not improvements by the catering supplier. As noted in the first post, we are trying to keep this thread specific to issues and ideas surrounding the provision of the catering supplied by Lindley. Lets stay on topic please.
  19. With 2 x SPL, 3 x D1, 5 x D2 and 4 x D3 games on you would hope there is O.A.M. but the Sportsound website hasnt been updated yet to say whether it is on :)
  20. Cant guarantee he will fix each and every issue to your satisfaction Kirishima as he will only be one board member out of a group, but I can guarantee you that he will try to address everything he can and he will take it to the boardroom in a manner that no-one else does right now. As Don says, its a big task, but having known Kenny for a number of years, I am sure he will relish the challenge.
  21. Copy of the Press Release now on the front page of the site. Wholeheartedly agree with HighlandExile on this one. Kenny is one of the good guys and was instrumental in helping establish the likes of BB the first time round as a board member. He also tried to re-establish it along with myself and Donald from outside the boardroom and who knows, perhaps it will be third time lucky now that he is back on the inside. The key points for me are the Chairman's comment that "We see Kenny as having a link role between the board and supporters' organisations to further understanding and mutual development" and Kenny's assertion that "This club is most successful when everyone concerned pulls together and works for the common good. I will do what I can in that direction" ..... Both comments echo fundamental complaints that have been raised on here - and elsewhere - about our club and I look forward to seeing some positive movement on this
  22. Darren has asked us to conduct a poll on the catering and we have added a new thread here: http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...showtopic=17226 I am going to close this one now - as the club are now seeking to take some action - but will leave a link in the new one.
  23. Darren from ICT has contacted us and asked us to run a poll/survey about the fans' concerns over the Lindley Catering services within the Caledonian Stadium. We have added a few general areas of concern as a poll (which is multiple choice so you can choose more than one answer) but would ask that those with issues please detail them clearly and concisely below. This is your chance to list your concerns or comments about the catering in an official capacity and have Darren raise them with the company. Darren is keen to listen to the grumbles and sit down with the company and see if they can be addressed. Please note: As this is an 'official' request from the club, we want to make sure it stays on-topic and within the range of the question being asked. Because of this we will summarily delete any comments that are off-topic or seek to drag the topic away from the question. If you have an issue please show it in your response by typing ISSUE near the top of your response. If you have a suggestion on how to improve one or more aspects, please show it in your response by typing IDEA near the top of your response. The original "who ate all the pies thread" that has led to this action by the club can be viewed here http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...showtopic=15885 NOTE: This topic will only remain open for issues/ideas until FRIDAY 12th MARCH @ 12PM (UK Time) as Darren meets with the area manager of Lindley that afternoon.
  24. The issue has not gone away Kirishima. There may be a lull right now, but the question is still uppermost in a lot of minds.
  25. McMenamin coming on for a midfielder (Shinnie) as Dundee go for it !
