ICT -V- Celtic : matchday thread
Just shows how fickle football is ...... It SHOULD have been 3-0 a few seconds earlier but now its 1-2 and Caley Thistle are supposedly "invigorated" according to the commentator Wilson on for McBain

no, no chatroom at the moment. we may add one in the future (if a decent one becomes available for this software) but its not a huge priority There's no E in Black ---- Tell your friend that the ICT pitch has the same dimensions as the old Wembley (ie. maximum allowable size).

OK .... will give the ref that one. With Brines at the helm, Black could easily have walked for the mistimed tackle/kick at Maloney. Think that makes him a shoe-in to be subbed during second half.

open all mics also appears to be working. McManus should have been booked for that tackle on Imrie .... **** stuck a leg out ..... far more clearcut than Black's booking !!! Great FK from Imrie though - so close.

Dundee Utd Chairman Thompson Dies
As I said above, his dealings with ICT didnt exactly endear him to us but reading a few of the online articles make me think we would have had a different opinion of him when he was alive had he been our chairman. First his own words - "You can change your wife, your house, your car but you can never change your team. Chairmen come and go, boards come and go but the fans remain. They are the one true constant. I've just been a custodian of the club." Then, a gesture that speaks volumes for what his own fans thought of him ... "Earlier this year, at the suggestion of United fans, one of the stands at Tannadice was named in his honour and thousands of United fans wore One Eddie Thompson T-shirts at the CIS Cup final against Rangers in March."

Dundee Utd Chairman Thompson Dies
Much as he could be a figure of both fun and frustration to some of us for his dealings with ICT in the transfer market, we cant argue over his passion for DUFC. Condolences go to his family, and especially to his daughter who lost her husband the other day in a bike crash. What a week for her.

Is Burley going to walk away?
:thumb04: Thanks for not posting it. Despite the fact that a particular story appears to be in wide circulation verbally, we would just have had to remove it like other unprovable/unfounded rumours that have been posted here in the recent past.

Munro - 2 Year Extension
I think the reality is somewhere in the middle ...... No player who thinks he can perform at a higher level will want to tie himself down for a 4 or 5 year contract unless it is at one of the top teams in the SPL or EPL and conversely, no club at our level (financially speaking) can really afford to offer a deal so sweet that a player with the undoubted potential of someone like Black will sign on for 5 years. The reality is that we will continue to offer 1, 2 and at best 3 year deals to our players in the hope that some will be like Tokely and Munro and basically stay with us their whole career and others will be on a long enough contract that we will see some money for them when they undoubtedly move on.

Trials for Man Utd and Borussia Dortmund after the U17 championships in 1999. not signed by either, not sure why. Work permit issues perhaps? (as suggested above) has been playing in Sweden since 2003, a Scottish winter will be no problem for this guy !!! Djebi-Zadi came on trial at the same time as Juanjo and technically, Rooney was also a trialist although it ended up looking like ICT were the ones on trial as Brewster basically said he would sign him if he wanted to come !!!

I would actually trust Brew on this one. He has invited many trialists to the TCS since he took over and most have been evaluated and sent packing .... if this one is up to scratch then maybe he will be asked to stay, if not, Brewster will send him back down the A9 (or over the North Sea). Looking at his club history, its not as bad as mentioned above .... 2000 (age 17) - Signed by Liberty Professionals of Ghanaian Premier League 2001 (age 18) - Loaned to Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Petativa for the season 2001-2003 - Went back to Liberty Professionals at end of loan 2003 (age 20) - Signed for Swedish first division side Vasteras (equiv to Div 2 SFL). played 17 games (+6 as sub). Scored 3, 2 assists, 4 yellow cards. 2004 (age 21) - Signed for Swedish "Superettan" side Friska Viljor (equiv to Div 1 SFL). played 23 games (+10 as sub). Scored 5, 3 assists, 4 yellow cards. 2005 - 2006 (age 22/23) - signed for Swedish "Superettan" side Assyriska Foreningen just after they had been relegated from the "Allsvenskan" (equiv to SPL). According to wikipedia (i know, pinch of salt) he played 48, scored 5. 2007 (age 24) - Signed for Swedish "Superettan" side IF Sylvia. Again, Wikipedia states 25 appearances, 1 goal. So it looks like he started in Ghana, had one major club, went on loan as a youngster and then went back to them at the end of the loan. After that he headed for Sweden where he has played for 4 different sides, each of which seems to have been slightly better than the one before ... although his last club appear to have just been relegated from the Swedish "Superettan" and replaced by the team he was with the year before when they were relegated. Looks like they bounced back into the Superettan at the first attempt !!! The only site I could translate into English said his ambition is to play in La Liga or the English Premier League, he likes Reggae music and his favourite drink is Fanta or water (much water). Maybe a little lost in translation on the Friska site but according to them he "Come to FV for the season 2004 from V?ster?s SK Soccer. Abandoned FV for Assyriska FF after the season in 2004."

Munro - 2 Year Extension
Put a decent offer on the table for Black and I would hope he will seriously consider it. I could be totally wrong, but reading between the lines of all the various rumblings of the past few weeks it seems he is settled at ICT and given a decent offer would commit for another 2 or 3 years. Getting Blackie signed up might also be the catalyst for a few others to put pen to paper .....

judging from some of the comments Richard Gordon has read out in recent weeks, there are a LOT of people who appreciate the new service.

I would agree From my point of view (ie. outside the UK), last year you could listen to a smattering of ICT games but when you came up against one that was blocked you had no option but to either listen to nothing at all or to listen to one of the other games (if there was one that was not blocked). Towards the end of last season, the open all mics service was extended from just the Scottish Cup to the SPL (and other featured games from the SFL) as a test. For some reason - presumably a question over media rights - it was also blocked outside the UK. This year, we have the normal smattering of ICT games, but no matter what week it is, if the ICT game is blocked, you can listen to open all mics and hear the goals from all grounds as they happen without any blocking .... some weeks this is actually way more interesting than the live commentaries and I know before I turn on my computer that I will at least have audio of some description. Incidentally - although we will try to post this at the start of the matchday thread each week, the URLs for audio remain pretty constant. Open all mics always seems to be - http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/sportscotland/sportsound/media/sportsound.ram and live coverage from grounds always seems to be http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/sportscotland/sportsound/media/<team-name>.ram
