  1. If you are showing SPL and making that known to people by, oh lets say, mentioning it on a public forum that is frequented not just by supporters but also others who are trawling for stories or trying to make sure that we, or our users arent doing anything dodgy then I hope you have a good lawyer .... just ask a fair number of Glasgow pubs who got their sensitive parts grabbed and twisted.
  2. He's 23, and will be 24 next month .... not exactly "that age". To me "that age" is anyone under 20, once you hit there, age stops being an excuse.
  3. It wasn't all that long ago that Scotland had 6 or 7 Euro spots .... a team in the (true) Champions Cup, a team in the cup winners cup, and 4 or 5 teams in the UEFA Cup and I see no reason for that not to happen again but it will only happen if teams get beyond the first round and don't lose to second division Swedish sides or get hammered by mediocre Irish sides. If that means we have to look at the qualification mechanism then so be it. If we want to make the "diddy" cups worthwhile again, or leave some form of dream in place for teams outside the SPL then lets do something internally where a European spot is up for grabs. A playoff between finalists in the cups who don't automatically qualify and the last placed potential European qualifier(s) in the SPL or something like that..... but to let the luck of the draw decide who will represent the country in European competition and potentially affect how many places we get in a future year is wrong in my mind.
  4. Perhaps it would be fairer to look at the record they each had under the ICT board of directors and not the notorious 'Grocer' Prior to returning, Brewster won 34% of his games in the SPL compared to 33% for Charlie and 28.5% for Robbo. If we turn that on its head and look at how many games each manager lost in the SPL, Brewster still comes out on top with a 30% losing record compared to 39% for CC and a whopping 57% for Robbo. As I said above, if you choose your dataset wisely, you can get them to say whatever you like
  5. I actually agree with him !!! The best sides from any country should compete in Europe and not sides who may have had the luck of the draw in getting to the SC Final ! Look at Gretna in 2005 - Preston Athletic, Cove Rangers, St Johnstone, Clyde, St Mirren, Dundee .... and then Hearts in the final ! not a single SPL side on the way there, not any ties where it might be thought to be "un-winnable". At least Dunfermline last year had to play well in putting out Rangers, Hearts & Hibs The simple fact is that the better the sides do, the higher our co-efficient gets and the more teams may qualify in future and that will benefit more teams than just the OF.
  6. think we did this subject to death a few weeks ago and it nearly ripped the site apart. Brewster has had 2 league games in charge and although defeated twice, away from home, the signs of improvement are there. As much as I was very pro-Christie and said many times that he shouldn't be judged too harshly and too early, I have to say the same applies to Brewster. 2 games, 2 defeats, but 2 decent performances. way too early to pass judgment. As for the 30 game stats ... as someone who uses statistics a fair bit, I know that if you grab the right dataset, you can prove just about anything you want ! At the end of the day, whether he is a returning hero, a donkey, a judas or whatever your point of view is, the one fact is that he is ICT manager and we all need to get behind him and the players.
  7. one of the things we had to change when we were having loads of "brain farts". Main site is now "login-free" but forum still needs it and you login using the login tab
  8. NO. I cant look up stats right now, but I remember a thoroughly horrible game at the Shyberry stadium V Airdrie where we were easily beaten 6-0
  9. 3-0 Nakamura . no deflection on that one ! sheeit 4-0 Vinegar scores as I type :008: :008: :008: :008: :008:

If anyone should be getting charged with screwing up it should be Stuart Dougal = watch the Turkey V Hungary highlights ..... stonewall penatly and red card for keeper, instead SD books the guy for diving and has to send him off as its his second yellow. http://video.uefa.com/video/index.html Scotland game is good too :003:
  11. Ukraine 1-2 Italy FT result :008:
  12. Whilst I agree with much of your sentiment, I dont think quoting a song (national anthem) that has, as part of its content, the following verse is a good example. Lord, grant that Marshal Wade, May by thy mighty aid, Victory bring. May he sedition hush and like a torrent rush, Rebellious Scots to crush, God save the King/Queen. For me, I have no problem with the "English" as a people/race/nation - whatever word you want to use, it is the often ignorant comments of the English media and my dislike for the English Team that makes me support the other team when they are playing in much the same way as I am happy to see Livingston, St Mirren or Dundee Utd get beaten by (most) other teams.

Problem is, he rarely plays as well for Scotland as he can do for Rangers at times .... Thats not a criticism of Ferguson himself, but seems to be a failing that many players have had over the years. Deffo think he needs to be in there against France though !
  14. Whoever feels confident they will score !!! Niculae didnt miss, it was saved by the keepers foot ! It may not have been a great penalty but thats not to say he shouldnt take them. However, if Rankin, Cowie, Brewster or anyone else feels more confident, then let them take them. not much chance of getting one this week though !

Its there, on the back, I spotted it and its gonna be covered by a number :004: [attach=1]
  20. If it gets a few extra bums on seats then where is the harm? We used to do it in lower division days, a few bodies went round the pubs firing up posters for the next game. Its not going to do anything for existing supporters or those who will not support the club in any circumstances, but if it gets a few more neutrals or visitors through the gates its all extra money for the club/manager to work with. Lets face it, unless we are playing one of the OF, there are plenty empty seats to go round. The simplicity of the file I attached is just because we asked for something basic. I am sure Angela or someone else at the club could tart it up with some 'inspiring' pictures for future games if there was a demand and if it warranted it.

Tend to agree with TM4TJ - the names are on there regardless of whether a number will have to be attached over the top of it or not. There will be some reasonably well known names covered up including the chairman's but regardless of that, the names will still be there !! It may have been a better idea if more names were added to the front to go lower down the shirt or if a smaller font size was used so that the top half of the back didnt have to be used at all but that might have led to some complaining that their names were tucked inside the players shorts ! So long as the name is there, it will still be on the pitch with the players and will be readable on the sponsors' commemorative copy of the shirt. As for the 'mistake', my heart goes out to you Wilsy, as it is one that is not only frustrating but one that no matter what the club do for you will never be truly resolved. however, at the end of the day, thats what it is, a mistake and we can all make them. Did the club make the mistake?, or did it happen in Italy? who knows, but what they have offered you sounds like they are trying to do the best they can. Incidentally, if you dont mind me asking, what was the mistake ?
  22. There would be no shame in Scotland (FIFA Rank 23) failing to qualify from a group containing Italy (#3), France (#4) and Ukraine (#15) and with each of them still to play in 3 of our 4 final qualifying games its a tall order for us to get there but not impossible ! By the rankings, we could reasonably expect to be 4th and it wasnt that long ago that we were in the same ranking territory as both Lithuania (78) and Georgia (103) although thankfully we have never been as low as the Faeroe's (190)

He's a Timelord ! ..... You know, he isnt really a driving instructor, and that isnt really a dual control car he drives .......
  24. I received a personal message a week or so ago asking whether it would be possible for the club to make "next game" posters available for users to print off and stick up in their workplaces, schools etc. I spoke with Angela at the club and she has sent the attached PDF file. If users think this is a good idea, we may well be able to establish a section in our downloads area for this, or just add them to a pre-match thread on here .... let us know if you think a regular supply of these would be worth it. ICT-Hearts.pdf
  25. We have the availability, space and bandwidth to make these available if the files can be got to us. Some files may be too big to attach to the forum but if you talk to myself or CaleyD we can make alternative arrangements.
