  1. We maintain the squad list program for the club but can only do so when we receive the information. We also maintain the technical aspects of the website (hosting and security updates) but have no responsibilities in terms of the editorial content. We have recently invested quite a lot of money to revamp the squad/stats program and we hope the fruits of that will be seen soon. For some reason, even now the season is underway, the club seem reluctant to pass squad information on in a timely fashion. I dont have time to chase it down on a daily basis. This is where the club (and the supporters) should realise how much they really miss Don or someone like him. You can slag him off or cast aspersions as to his motives/character or anything else, and you can disagree with him mildly or vehemently, but the simple fact of the matter is that he was the one running around collating this info, getting in onto the site, and doing a whole host of other things including looking at a total revamp of the (official) site that would cost the club five figures if they put it out to tender. Thats before you even look at the media side of things with twitter/facebook and the push to get audio/video coverage for fans of the club. This is not a criticism of the others who are trying to pick up the slack. We do still have a media team and they will do sterling work but its not an easy task and it will take time for them to fill the empty shoes. Peter has had to step into the breach for the website and add that on top of all his other duties so he posts what he can when he can find a spare second or two. I am sure if you give him a brush he can stick it somewhere and sweep the floor at the same time !! There is still a non-techy (as opposed to technophobe) culture at the TCS and the first thought is not to get things onto the website or social media .... so unless you have someone going round and cajoling others for the information or sticking video/still cameras in people's faces then you are going to see a diminished product this year. I hope I am wrong, but thats how I see it.
  2. My understanding - and it might not be entirely accurate - is that the editorial team use the 'team' function of Tweetdeck to share the account and post updates. This allows multiple people to tweet under one account without knowing the master password. This was previously turned on/off as required to make sure the account was secure and is likely set to off right now. Others in the stadium who post commercial or other team news etc post directly to twitter so would still have access. nothing sinister and likely to be remedied when the club complete any investigation ... hopefully by this weekend ?
  3. scary but true
  4. The question was reasonable, as was the answer, post 3 was not. My (uninformed) opinion is that they shut it down last weekend as part of the reaction to the misdirected 'like'. They said it would be investigated so cant really open it up for posting the next day. Once they have investigated I reckon that normal service will be resumed.
  5. no number listed by club yet. he was injured before making any squad appearances so they havent (publicly) confirmed squad number
  6. You should be able to just 'purchase' them again in the store. http://caleythistleonline.com/store/ The store link should work. We have reached enough to sponsor Polworth's shirt and have paid the club for this already. If we get enough interest we can sponsor another item once we know what is available. If we get to the next target before mid September then that will be fine. If not I will either refund the payments to the sponsors or donate it to the club. (based on user preference).
  7. *** VOTING IN THE POLL ABOVE IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE AT THE MATCH ONLY *** If you were at the match, please use the poll above to vote for your top 3 players. As a bit of fun, we have also added an option to rate the referee .... Please make sure you vote for 3 separate players. If you make an error, let us know so we can fix it. PLEASE ONLY VOTE ABOVE IF YOU WERE AT THE GAME Anyone caught trying to cheat the system WILL be banned from voting in ALL site polls...this is your only warning. **NOT at the game ?** As a result of requests received, we have made a slight change to how these threads work for site users who watched the game on TV or listened to the full game live on the radio ....... You too will now be able to cast your votes, but should do it in the thread below, and NOT in the official poll above. Just list the three players of your choosing and award 5,3, or 1 point(s). You can give the ref a mark if you want too ! These votes will NOT be counted in the official total, as we only count votes from those who where actually at the game, but it IS a way for you to participate in the process .... which many people asked for .... a happy medium we hope !!!!!

  9. There was nothing posted to the club site as far as I can tell from the screen capture shown on another site. Not condoning it, and the person who did it should not have access to the club facebook or twitter accounts again, but it appears to have been an inadvertent 'like' on twitter so it would only show up if someone looked at the profile and then the 'likes' tab on the twitter feed. No idea how long it was up but it wasn't something re-tweeted or posted by the club. The investigation will no doubt say that they cannot figure out who did it or that the account was hacked
  10. I am with @Renegade on this one ... We are Caley Thistle and its a name to be proud of. We should never forget our roots and our name embraces those roots but it also identifies us globally with something that sounds iconically Scottish. A little anecdote from this past weekend to illustrate .... Friends - and ICT season ticket holders - who were visiting relatives in a town reasonably close to Toronto for the last few weeks contacted me and asked if I could get them tickets for the Toronto FC game last Saturday. I was able to grab a few and on the day we met up to go to the game. Their son was proudly wearing the new ICT strip from this season and both during and after the game he was approached by people who instantly recognised the strip and started talking about Caley Thistle ...... I think he was quite chuffed to see a few people recognised the strip and I have to say I was also a little surprised as most folk initially think its some kind of weird Barcelona top until they get close and ask who it is or see the badge. On a personal level I dont care if anyone prefers to calls us ICT, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Caley, Jags, CaleyJags, Inverness or any other nickname they want ... but we are Caley Thistle and that should never change.
  11. A lot of myth surrounding the "temporary stands" and if you search for that phrase on the site you will find a lot of comments in various threads over the years. I think this one from 5 years ago best sums it up though :
  12. oh dear. @ictchris has it about right. remove the material, say nothing and tell whoever was using the account at the time to never do it again. move on. nothing to see here. storm in a teacup. Instead, we get this long winded statement drawing attention to something that was probably noticed by at most a handful of people, a second paragraph that sounds like a complete over reaction, and a third paragraph that seems to have swallowed a thesaurus and in some parts of it actually makes no sense in the english language. We complain when the club say nothing ... but this is one occasion where they should have done exactly that.
  13. and instead of advertising hoardings we would just have 'rubber bumpers' with a postoffice in each corner.
  14. from 2010 : Stadium Announcer loses position after questioning the ownership ..... http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/News/Announcer-splits-with-ICT-over-web-comments-11572.htm and the actual statement the club issued at the time : and recently .... 15. just saw it come through. thanks. will sort it out one way or the other.
  16. Can I put you down for 2 ? Fraz already indicated interest and has taken part before so that would leave 2 spots .... unless of course anyone thinks we could go as far as raising more for additional items from one of the players ? Think its around £120 for the cheapest items so we would need 11 more.

The club do need to do something better than the portacabin. That is fine for matchdays but on other days its not going to generate much in the way of passing trade or tourist trade. If a permanent shop is not feasible then what about a so-called 'pop-up shop' somewhere in the city centre for the summer? There is usually no shortage of empty units in the centre unfortunately and it might be a good idea. I have seen dozens of these in Toronto over the last couple of years from varying sellers, including Toronto FC and artists like Drake or the Weeknd to brands such as Adidas, Nike and others ... They open a place for a week and in the case of TFC they locate it 'uptown' and sell stuff to people in some parts of the city who cant get down to the official club shop to buy as well as some exclusive gear only available at that location for the duration. [Although they have matchday kiosks inside the stadium, the club shop in Toronto is located a couple of miles from the stadium inside the Air Canada Centre where the Raptors and Maple Leafs play so its a one-stop shop for all teams] I do like the idea of a 'multi-purpose' venue so that it does not have to rely solely on merchandise sales and could perhaps have a cafe or meeting place of some sort but as many have said, that would require more upfront investment and perhaps a longer turnaround time to start making a profit (if ever) .... I may not be looking for a bit of 'Scaddish' tat for my friends in 'littleville Wyoming' but on my recent trip home I did make purchases in the big new shop on Bridge Street. It was huge and had all I needed for friends and colleagues back in Toronto ... a lot of the exact same stuff as the Woolen Mill but at significantly lower prices .... It was also very busy. busier I would say than the little tartan stores on the other side of Bridge street or in the market. If ICT could tap into that then I am sure it could be a goldmine. The other way it could be done - and again this is speculative - is that instead of asking retailers to stock ICT merchandise, you have your own shop and invite small, local businesses to peddle their wares inside the ICT store ... the kind of (non perishable) goods you might find at a farmers market or craft fair. I saw this in a few galleries and other shops in Iceland last year and it seemed to be a decent idea. Maybe its something that BID (and former ICT chief exec Mike Smith !!!) could look into not just for ICT but to make empty shopfronts available on a short term basis like this for others or to assist in actually helping small businesses in an attempt to re-invigorate what has become a depressingly dingy and uninteresting city centre.
  18. updated latest payments .... 3 spots left (plus Mantis).

  21. @Robert recently reminded me that I had not posted the details of the Player of the Year for last season. I have now tallied up the final totals and it ended up a landslide ....... There were a total of 3193 votes cast over the season for 26 different players, with one player taking 'Player of the Month' three times and eight other players each winning it once. Players of the Month : Jul : Jake Mulraney Aug : Ross Draper Sep : Owain Fon-Williams Oct : Carl Tremarco Nov : Lonsana Doumbouya Dec : Carl Tremarco Jan : Carl Tremarco Feb : Billy Mckay Mar : Greg Tansey Apr : Kevin McNaughton May : Alex Fisher Over the course of the season the player with the highest number of votes cast for them (regardless of the value of the votes 5/3/1) was Carl Tremarco with 406 votes. In second spot with 287 votes was Ross Draper, next up with 225 was Owain Fon-Williams with Greg Tansey and David Raven completing the top 5 with 195 and 174 votes respectively. In terms of "Player of the Year Points", I dont think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out where we are going here but lets just give all the details ..... The highest totals per month were as follows Jul : Kevin McNaughton (10) Aug : Ross Draper (14) Sep : Brad Mckay (10) Oct : Carl Tremarco (20) Nov : Carl Tremarco (6) Dec : Carl Tremarco (13) Jan : Carl Tremarco (7) Feb : Billy Mckay (13) Mar : David Raven (10) Apr : Kevin McNaughton (12) May : Alex Fisher (13) With one player getting the highest points total for 4 months in a row and also picking up some points in 5 of the other months, it should come as no surprise to anyone that our player of the year for season 2016-17 was .... CARL TREMARCO, pictured here with my lad who is hopefully a future winner of the same award The final points tally, as I mentioned was a landslide. 01 : Carl Tremarco - 73pts 02 : Ross Draper - 34pts 03 : David Raven - 32pts 04 : Owain Fon Williams - 29pts 05 : Kevin McNaughton - 27pts 06 : Alex Fisher - 26pts (23 of these in April/May) 07= : Gary Warren - 21pts 07= : Greg Tansey - 21pts 09= : Larnell Cole - 19pts 09= : Brad MCkay - 19pts

I kind of like the idea in principle ... a sort of Shop/Cafe/Play Area to bring in different clientele and widen the scope and increase the footfall over those who might solely come to a club shop to buy merchandise. Kids Play Areas are huge business over here. We are holding Simon's birthday party in one in a couple of weeks time and the costs involved in renting the party room then paying for the entry fee for all the invited kids are a real eye-opener !!! I noted on my last trip to Inverness that there are one or two in the town with I guess Frankie and Lola's being the biggest (?). You will likely get shot down by a lot of folk with the argument about cost, city centre rates/rent etc and in the end those folk may be right, but I think you have a nugget of an idea that might be worth a closer look.
  23. I wonder. Would opinions be so polarised if he had not been at County .....
